JAMF PRO enables Apple devices to be used in an enterprise enviornment
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro is very customisable, most solutions are only limited by your own creativity rather than product restrictions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the core technologies involved in the JAMF platform could be updated, support of enterprise data solutions would go along way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to provide a mac OS build tailored to our needs, that is secure enough for our enterprises needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JAMF is the most mature Enterprise Mac management solution available. Many other solutions are lacking functionality.

Consistently Great Support
What do you like best about the product?
Support personnel are easy to communicate with and helpful. The product continues to improve each year and user feedback is listened to and incorporated into product updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any major issues with JAMF Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficient deployment and management of iPads.
Highly Recommended - Best in its class!
What do you like best about the product?
It is EXTREMELY easy to use. Configuration and back end setup can be a bit daunting, especially if you're new to Apple device management, but use of the JAMF product on a day to day basis is borderline common sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint is the documentation, specifically the docs that reference making OS, Java, Apache Tomcat, or MySQL changes. Those pieces of information are often vague, which JAMF says is intentional due to many supported server configurations. I would personally like to see more detailed "best practice" documentation for the 4 major supported OS's: OS X, Ubuntu Server, RHEL, and Windows Server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in a K-12 institution and the biggest reason I love JAMF Pro so much is that it allows me to solve issues before they even become issues. For example, in the past VPN's have been a big issue here, kids trying to circumvent the network restrictions, however with JAMF it's extremely easy for us to keep undesired software, apps, and configurations off of our kids' devices.
Love JAMF!
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro allows me to single-handedly manage over 16,000 iPads, over 800 Apple TVs, and 1400 Macs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more management options for Apple TVs, but I understand this is a limitation from Apple and not JAMF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to deploy approximately 3000 new devices a year to students. JAMF Pro offers an easy, seamless deployment and management solution allowing us to deploy thousands for devices with a small staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Evaluate other solutions on the market first and chose the one that will fit your needs.
JamfPRO is exactly what we need
What do you like best about the product?
The massive amount of options. I can do anything from a minimal amount of control and configuration, to detailed settings and configuration lockdown. It's definitely got a learning curve, but once the basics are mastered the sky is the limit.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like using the Casper Suite, but the interface is outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining HIPAA compliance with enforced security controls.
Makes controlling a large deployment very easy!
What do you like best about the product?
I manage 500 iPads in an elementary school with Jamf, and it has made my life a lot easier. Easy to deploy an app to multiple devices quickly, giving teachers immediate access with no delay. Lost/misplaced devices can be locked and a message displayed on the lock screen, allowing them to be recovered quickly and easily. Other campuses in my district are planning to adopt Jamf for their iPad management in the upcoming school year, largely on my recommendation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have really found nothing to dislike. Any issues have been resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to control the apps our teachers use. We can control each device and wipe them clean if necessary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate!
A godsend to anyone that has to manage Macs or iPads!
What do you like best about the product?
This product makes it quite easy to manage and supervise all of your iPads or Macs from a centralized location! The cloud feature makes it a time saver of not having to use your own resources and help is always just a chat or phone call away!
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to have tips or tricks from end users sent out via a monthly email would be an added bonus feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to manage and handle installation of apps across our district from one centralized location is a huge time saver. Managing over 1400 ipads from a centralized location is a huge help and time saver.
jamf Pro for OS X and macOS device management
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and scale of management, the future roadmap with jamf 10 coming shows a lot of promise from a supportability and further easy of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of full cloud and mobile management, I'd like to see Azure Distribution Points be an option in the future, not all of us have access to AWC or other hosting services in a readily available capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OS X and macOS device management in an enterprise environment. Allowing for scoped limitations where applicable. Blocking specific applications, utilizing self-service for an "always available" set of software from the enterprise perspective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
jamf pro offers one of the best "out of box" experiences in my opinion around Apple device management. I would suggest going through the official training if possible however, and having someone on staff certified depending on your businesses size.
Most comprehensive solution for MDM
What do you like best about the product?
The support and community make solving issues simple. Frequent patches correct software issues as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
cost of training. Although the training pass is a great value, the initial sticker shock makes it hard to add into a budget
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently solving ownership of management within our satellite campuses by training on this software
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With time and training it is the only reasonable option. Jamf Nation and slack are great resources, but factory training is the only real way to get familiar with the software.
Essential tool for a Mac environment
What do you like best about the product?
taks that used to take hours to accomplish across all our devices (and we don't even have that many) now take minutes thanks to Jamf Pro.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is pretty steep. The documentation is good, but when it comes to learning how to get form point A to point D it takes some extra trial and error to find the best path: A to B to C to D? Or Can I go A to D? A to B to D?
The UI and UX needs some work, but v10 which is coming soon will address both of those.
The biggest pain point, patch management, is getting a fix too with v10.
V10 will be a huge upgrade that will eliminate many of the weaknesses, but none of them are that big a deal.

-Deployment of new hardware in minutes with no hands on IT needed
-Re-imaging existing hardware in minutes vs hours
-enforcing security policies
-enabling users to self service their machines, makes them feel empowered and in control and dramatically reduces IT costs

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it! I wish we had made this move years ago. The cost to get up and running is a bit steep with the Jumpstart, but its so worth it once you get it in your environment.
