Very flexible tool brings great efficiency to the office of finance
What do you like best about the product?
Very flexible tool for analyzing, managing, flexing, and reporting data, both financial and non-financial. I have developed multiple models that has greatly improved our business goal of "one version of the truth". Business processes are able to be applied simply across multiple data sets to analyze financial and non-financial information alike in a common platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not enough hours in the day to use the application to it's fullest extent. Really don't have anything that I don't like about the application. It has helped me be successful in my career by enabling me to provide timely, accurate, and relevant data in an efficient manner that is easily understandable at all levels of the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Financial planning and consolidation, operational reporting and analysis, bringing the business together under one version of the truth. Additionally, personnel planning and foreign currency exchange for multiple currencies across our business. We've improved the accuracy of our financial consolidation and reduced our time to close and publish financial statements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very flexible tool...the sky is the limit with this application. Brings great efficiency to the office of finance not only in financial reporting and planning functions, but also in a wide variety of operational applications.

Format is fairly straight forward and maintenance is not to complex.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting of the reports & budget templates seem pretty archaic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Budget operations, realization and accountability.
Prophix for Budgeted
What do you like best about the product?
Prophix allows my organization to budget from both a top down and a bottom up perspective. The software is similar to the excel models we were using before and is not terribly hard to train people to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visualization is a bit hard for some people to handle; this is mostly fixed in the web version that my organization has yet to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a better plan for how our finances will look throughout the year that is created in Prophix.
Prophix is an exciting finance tool with endless possibilities.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have all the reports preformatted and after a brief import and consolidation to be able to immediately have them to management for review.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prophix 12 has much more capability than its predecessor but the ease of using Prophix Enterprise is forever challenging P12 since the Legacy product was so user friendly and did not require as much help from IT and programmers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Prophix for our planning, forecasts, monthly financial comparisons, global financial consolidations, cashflows and product lines so we are trying to get the most efficient use out of the product.

Excellent choice but be patient through implementation and first 6 months of use...

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to the other systems I implement for my clients, Prophix has proven to be much easier to implement and ultimately easier to use for the non-technical user.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish the dashboard functionality had more advanced functionality. In addition, the release of the cloud version is much anticipated.

Great Experience from Backend to Front end user
What do you like best about the product?
how easy it is to select and move around different dimensions when building a report
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartclient, too oldschool., we haven't upgraded to web client yet so that will soon go away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the biggest thing was our reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. we were still in the stone age with these. since putting into Prophix, the whole process goes quicker and we are able to make changes on the fly.

go with it, you can do just about any report you can imagine with its flexibility

What do you like best about the product?
Prophix software has helped our company shorten our budget cycle and implement a successful forecasting process. In addition to a great product, where Prophix shines is with outstanding customer service. Their customer service reps, consultants and system architects are all very knowledgeable. Selecting Prophix has been a great decision for my company.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have used Prophix for over 6 years. It has served us well and I do not have any dislikes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company has transitioned the budgeting process from excel spreadsheets to a system. In addition, we have put Prophix to work in tracking weekly statistics and creating monthly forecasting.

I would choose it again. You won't go wrong with Prophix.
