A Wonderful Way to Organize and Share Photos with Our Community
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been a wonderful way for us to organize our photos and share them easily with our community, so they can help themselves when sourcing images from specific events or for broader themes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto has been a really solid product for our needs. It does take a fair amount of staff time to enter and maintain metadata, but that would be the case with any DAM software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has made it easy for us to share photos with our community members and, in turn, empower them to access those photos without taking up staff time from my team. The metadata tagging and facial recognition features have been especially helpful for sorting through tens of thousands of photos and quickly finding exactly what we need—and who we need.
Effortless Photo Organization with Intuitive UI
What do you like best about the product?
I use Canto for work, primarily for photo organization. I like the user interface, which is clear and concise. I don't have any suggestions for improvement, so it works well for me.

Canto Makes Content Sharing Across the Organization Effortless
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has made it easy for our company to store and share content across the organization, even if they aren't users in the platform. I love that we can easily share internal files through the share link and has become a frequently used feature for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside for us is the pricing. We love the features but are constrained by a tight budget and have to use the storage we have strategically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to tag and store large amount of content across multiple brands. We often have a hard time tracking approved assets and keeping them organized by brand with easy search features.
Efficient DAM Platform with Easy Navigation
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Canto's robust DAM platform with its AI metadata tagging, which makes organizing and managing content easy. My favorite features are the portals, which save me a lot of time and make it so I don't need a team of people to manage everything. I also switched to Canto from another product because it's much easier to navigate. The initial setup was very easy, which was a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love if there was a way to mount Canto to a desktop to make uploading and downloading more streamlined - so I could create automations for moving files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is a robust DAM platform that offers AI metadata tagging and makes content easily accessible to clients. It saves me time and reduces the need for a team to manage everything, providing an easy way to organize and manage content.
Sharp Search and Customization for Asset Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the search functionality a lot! It's so detailed and feels like doing a Google search through our entire photo library. I also like the capability to customize the fields that appear on each asset, as well as the fields required for uploading.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the quality of assets wasn't compromised in the preview screen, which can make it hard to know the true quality until you download it. I also wish it was easier for non-admins to edit their metadata after uploading to a portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto organizes our photo storage, resolving unorganized dumps in SharePoint and improving credit tracking, rights management, and searchability.
One Central Hub for Digital Assets That Keeps Teams Consistent
What do you like best about the product?
Canto gives us a single place to store all our digital assets—images, videos, documents, and brand files—which makes it easier to maintain consistency across teams and avoid duplication.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the biggest downside of Canto is the licensing cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It centralizes all digital assets in one organized hub. With metadata, tags, and AI search, files become instantly findable when you need them. The main benefits are faster workflows, less duplication, and the confidence that teams always know where the “source of truth” lives.
Efficient AI Search, But Integration Needs Work
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Canto helps with organization and access across departments, making it easier to locate and share files. The AI search is incredibly useful, saving us time that we used to spend searching for photos across various platforms like our server and Google Drive. Since using Canto, finding what we need has become significantly easier. Setting up Canto was very easy, and the onboarding training they provided was helpful. I also like that whenever we need assistance, they are quick to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integrations. Box.com integration is not working properly. Google Drive is better - however, it does take time for Canto to discover my folder structure. The previous version, around 2022-2023 all you had to do was provide the sharing link to the Google Drive folder, which didn't take as long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canto for organization and access across departments; it saves us time searching for photos and sharing within and outside of our organization.
Great Customer Upload Portals, but Export Downloads Can Be Unreliable
What do you like best about the product?
I love having portals for customers to easily upload their own content. Allows us to have multiple restricted places for customers to share content with us. I also love the version feature. Scratches a special itch for my type A brain.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides are difficulties with specific exports. Sometimes the files do not download as intended.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storage and file access across my team.
Streamlined Asset Management with Powerful Customization
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how you can tweak your own workspace to fit your individual workflow with Canto. We enjoy using portals, especially when working with different external stakeholders who need access to different files, and it's easy to manage and edit that access. I appreciate that we can change the status of assets and add expiration dates, so we don't violate our licensing contracts. I also really like that we can update assets with new and approved versions of the same image. Plugging Canto links into Asana helps us track projects and share links with the team
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the platform is perfectly suited for photos but I find with videos it would be great to be able to have time stamps or some other way of organizing what is within the video itself. I also find that the new search bar shouldn't have to require you to put "" around things in order to only look up that very specific SKU. The search bar without the quotation marks casts too large of a net and things that shouldn't end up populating which confuses some team members. No one I know uses the personal collections for their account, so maybe finding a new way to communicate what that is for or just removing it.

Canto solves storage, organization, and access issues, allowing us to organize and share files with stakeholders while managing asset statuses and avoiding contract breaches.
Huge, Searchable Asset Library That Empowers Sales Reps
What do you like best about the product?
It’s been really helpful to give our sales reps access to a large library of assets that they can easily search by keyword and quickly share with clients when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main issue is creating share links. It’s the one feature I really wish worked more like Dropbox. Also, there are quite a few functions and features included that we don’t really need, or that we’re not sure what they’re for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto gives our sales reps easy access to a large library of assets they wouldn’t normally be able to reach while on the road visiting customers.
