Canto: Our main repository for digital assets three years on.
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has a robust feature set which is easy to access for most people. A little hand holding is sometimes neccessary for new users, but for the most part I feel that it's fairly intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
To acheive the fullest potential, one must carefully plan out ones implenentaiton. I feel as though we missed that mark early on, leaving us the play clean up later. Our use case is still evolving and I find myself wondering if we could be more efficient in terms of how we leverage the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest probnlem we needed it to solve is sharing assets with other team members. It does this admirably.
Canto makes sharing assets very easy
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to create standard libraries to share assets with others and not have to constantly create Dropbox or OneDrive folders to share things.
What do you dislike about the product?
Moving assets from one folder to another is difficult. It wants to simply assign them to the second folder and I wanted to eliminate the first folder and restructure. I found that difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides an easy way to share assets.
On-boarding and support is an A+
What do you like best about the product?
The on-boarding was very helpful and the recording of the on-boarding sessions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tutorials on youTube need to be updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of finding photos. Ease of sharing assets.
Great Upgrade from Traditional Content Management but Data Side Has a Lot of Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The team has been very knowledgeable and the training series proves to help ease some of the implementation jitters our team has. There is a learning curve with moving from a regular hard drive on a server to Canto but we are excited to use Canto's other features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the PIM side is more robust and more customize-able. The set-up of products is a little more complicated than expected but nothing too hard is you're familiar with spreadsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It takes on a huge chunk of a Catalog Manager's role in the company. It allows team members access to content they normally would have to ask someone to send them or get access to.
Super user-friendly asset management system that is always improving
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has been extremely user friendly for both the set up on the admin side and access from the consumer side for our foundation. Their support team is also very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had some glitches as far as metadata showing up on mobile versions of our portals that has been set to be blocked from the backend.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have thousands of quality images of our athletes coming in from photographers every year and we were struggling to import efficiently, identify images for future needs, and share them in an easy way. Canto answers all of these needs.
Very Robust Platform with Many Applicatons
What do you like best about the product?
Portals is a great feature - easy to manage users and content.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smart tags could be improved. Maybe there's a way to feed the AI with references, instructions and guidelines up front to improve functionality. With our products smart tags have been mostly a miss, it's be nice to automate tagging fully vs manual input.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Centralizing and standardizing access to all approved documents and assets. AS our business has not be fully integrated, this is key. Before Canto, documents and assets were scattered across multiple Sharepoint sites and hard drives. 2. Process optimization - approving, releasing and updating content, with stakeholders across various teams. Version control is also important here. 3. Portals for various types of users/consumers, both internal and external.
One Click Away
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to store all of our professional photography, videos, and creative assets in one place where my creative team as easy access to use when needed or to look at stored content for new ideas for projects we have in queue. Canto is extremely easy to use and access.
I use and rely on Canto everyday to assist in my work and provide support to our internal clients on a whole range of projects. The creative stored is implemented in our marketing campaigns, brand campaigns, email drip campaigns, and general marketing of programs.
I haven't had many issues using Canto, but when needed the customer service team is accessible and quick to respond. I appreciate having a team to trouble shoot when needed.

What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly have not had any issues with Canto. And, if I did, I know my contact will take care of it quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all of our creative assets under one umbrella is a huge benefit and a time saver when working on tight deadlines.
Beat product we introduced into our workflow!
What do you like best about the product?
Remote access for all team members. Fantastic ability to share large files with partners and clients. Great customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some navigation within folder/album structures could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote team sharing was made so much more streamlined. Client link sharing is one of our most used features.
Great Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has allowed us to service our clients far better than before. We have lot of retail clients and every one of them has different specifications for the imagery. In the past, with some clients, I'd have to create custom version of specific product photos. Now, they can get what they want, when they want it and whatever size they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I'd like to show the same images in different folders without having to have mulitple copies of the same image uploaded at the same time. I have clients that want to look for images sorted by seasons without having to use the search function so they can easily download everything for that season. Then I have some clients that want to just download, let's say, pants only. Instead of searching for pants, they want to click on a folder and download the full assortment. The search feature is awesome but a lot of folks would rather just use the old methods of clicking on folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has taken a lot of the burden of clients asking for small amounts of images and having to wait, possibly the next day, before they get a response. With Canto, our clients can go search for anything they want and download it within moments.
Intuitive and powerful asset management system
What do you like best about the product?
Our university hosts thousands of photos dating back to a decade and CANTO is powerful enough to host and manage all those images. It's intuitive to use: for uploading, downloading (and for clients not registered for the system it's so easy to send a link exclusively for just that album of photos and not the whole library), the ability to download in compressed and resized files, and creation of albums (snap) so easy for organization. The one stand out feature is the facial recognition: we upload one photo and tag that photo with facial recognition and it becomes so much easier to search now.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to go back to search results after looking at an individual photo. One of the things we have to do is redo a search for the same desired results because after you've looked at an individual photo and downloaded it, you can't use the back button on your browser to go back to your search results. You have to do the search all over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to house and manage thousands of images we use for our Marketing and Communication purposes. And how easy it is to organize and find the photos needed with intuitive controls that even the least technically savvy user n our university can find it easy to sue.
