Great experience with Canto
What do you like best about the product?
This was a very easy program to use. Very intuitive to the needs of even those with the most basic computer skills. Loading, tagging and searching for assets is quick and easy. I would highly recommend Canto.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. Implementation and deployment went extremely well. We are closing in on year 3 of using Canto as our DAM solution and so far, nothing but positive reviews from those who have used it. We continue to grow our digital assets and Canto has provided the perfect solution for centralizing those assets and making them easily accessible and sharable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our assets were scattered in several different locations around the world. Canto allowed us to centralize everything in one easy to use location.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Canto.
Great for our Independent School
What do you like best about the product?
Tons of storage, easy to upload in the cloud, and great costumer service. We are a K-12 school in the Bay Area with approximately 2,500 students and have been using Flight for almost 2 years. We currently have over 33,000 photos, 100 videos, and 1,000 documents stored, with over 2,000 GB (yes that's right, Gigabits) left of storage in Flight. The cloud system makes it easy for our photographers to upload photos and for us to access them without having to be on campus. Though the interface has gone through multiple changes, overall it's a pretty instinctual. Additionally, the Canto representatives have always been quick to respond with any issues that have arisen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto Flight's ever-changing interface. It makes it difficult to train and then re-train less-tech savvy staff, and also makes the carefully crafted "how-to" guides quickly irrelevant. Lastly, there is quite a bit of lag time with the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Canto Flight, we had a huge photo storage problem. Having 3 campuses with a plethora of photos being taken at events and marketing photo shoots, we needed a solution that could store a large number of photos, be accessible off-campus (our old system was uploading all of the photos to an on-campus server), and that was easy for our staff to use. Canto met all of our needs!
Impressed with Canto
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Canto Flight as our Data Asset Management system for the past 6 months or so. Overall, we are very pleased with it. It is easy to use and understand, and has a lot of great features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not super excited about the way its lightbox feature works and I don't like how limited my user base and storage amount is for the fee we pay each month, so those are some limitations. It's a fairly expensive subscription service and the jury is still out for us whether we will ultimately be able to continue using and affording it. But for now, we're happy with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have struggled with a good way to manage our digital assets--primarily photo and video assets. Canto Flight is easy to use, easy to organize, very intuitive, and has a better tagging and management system than other DAMs we've used.
Flight works for us
What do you like best about the product?
How user-friendly and visual the product is. Most other DAMS we researched were clunky/not photo-first.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of their main features (advanced uploading) no longer works, and it has taken a while to fix the problem.

Organizing images
An Incredible Asset Library!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how customisable the profiles are, so only certain people can see / download certain things...and the ability to share content as downloadable or viewable only is such a handy feature! What's also great is and how easy it is to share files / folders / upload links with non-users. The interface is great, and it allows me to do my job / manage all the files I work with so much more easily than pre-IR.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the image thumbnail preview doesn't show up, which I know a lot of people rely on to know if they've got to the right file
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storage and sharing of our wealth of assets
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Build out a logical folder structure and you're good to go! It's as user-friendly as you make it.
Image Relay helps us offer special collections and highlight our offerings
What do you like best about the product?
The general ease of getting set up, single sign-on integration with SAML2, tagging, and governance control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see an expansion effort into more robust reporting and tracking of use, like hooking in Google Analytics easily, as well as tracking use of specified collections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Image Relay has helped us greatly improve the findability of our assets for designers and employees, and gain better control on our governance practices. The tagging and collections capabilities are helping us offer special collections and highlight our offerings.

What do you like best about the product?
Searchability.
Ability to share hi-res images with partners outside my org easily.

What do you dislike about the product?
Drag and drop functionality would be hugely helpful when it comes to organizing folders and moving content between folders in the directory.
Date field should be a pick system not an open field.
Generally forcing more data hygiene w/ required field and pick-lists rather than open response would make the platform easier to navigate.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helpful for sharing content with external partner, benefiting from evergreen creative developed by past employees that can be leveraged for current projects.
Image Relay is a great service and system, with great customer service and prompt communication.
What do you like best about the product?
Image Relay seems to address issues and concerns quickly. The chat feature is great. Their customer service is on point.
Once, I remember thinking "'Select all' should also deselect a selection to help with downloading specific items," and shortly thereafter Image Relay made that change. I like that it's intuitive and that the intuition goes past your first day of use with a continued focus on making the service better.
The support emails during the down time was great. Loved the stats about how consistent the service is and how little down time you have with Image Relay as your DAM.

What do you dislike about the product?
For my use, I can't say that I bump into a lot, or any, frustration while using Image Relay. Everything seems very well tended to.
I have noticed the search miss certain terms and not bring up items I'm looking for until I either add other terms or search by something else. This would be a minor complaint as I don't often have a problem and this is another area that seems to have improved since my first using the service.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One thing Image Relay has simplified for me is reducing how many files I have to manually create for our image library. I used to have to make all web, print, etc. files manually. With Image Relay, I no longer have to do that. I make one library and other users can download files for a specified use. That's been a huge help in my day-to-day workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you were used to local server-based management of your digital assets, Image Relay will move you in a new, more efficient direction. It's all about workflow.
Easy
What do you like best about the product?
organization, filtering + sharing capabilities
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike, it's all straightforward and simple
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting content out asap / archiving content
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Absolutely!
Great User Experience
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to navigate and organize images. I also like that you can download images with different resolutions and add keywords for searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the system does not allow me to download an image, and I have to log out and log back in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I often must share collections of high resolution images with clients and media, and Image Relay collections make that very simple.
