What do you like best about the product?
Ease of search and immediate downloads is great and our users love this. Huge improvement beyond previous tool being used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there was a way besides a Private Portal to house assets in Flight that are restricted to just certain Pilot level users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a more immediate level of access to digital assets and providing a greater ease of use for a large number of users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
30 day trial was very useful. Ask lots of questions and dig deep into the help area on Flight... very broad inventory of topics that help to increase your knowledge of use. Support team is great so really use them.
First venture into DAM territory
What do you like best about the product?
Universal, cross-platform access, ability to create portals, md5 checksum-based duplicate stopping, tagging and search, deduplicated multi-folder assignment
What do you dislike about the product?
Bulk uploader extraordinarily difficult to get working over office firewall and on chrome. HIGHLY recommend making this a simpler browser-agnostic web interface.
Cannot bulk-set tags when uploading folders
No mobile app

Prior to Canto, all of our marketing material used to reside on a shared drive accessible within the organization network. All brand manager would own folders within which they stored marketing assets - images, brochures, videos, 3D assets. This caused issues because -
a) Simple folders = no tagging = very hard to search for assets;
b) No version control, approval history, and random nomenclature made it hard to identify which asset to use even if found
c) No access outside the organization, so could not be used remotely or shared with 3rd party partners and agencies; people would use wetransfer each time.
d) Significant duplication of content, obsolescence, and storage consumption
With Canto, all of the above get solved. We could enable access permissions to control modification, set up portals to share assets externally permanently, reduce storage with dedupes, and setup version control and a standardized folder structure and process. While this helped bring in significant efficiencies in process, the real win was in content management, tremendously reducing incidence or incorrect imagery used, safer, faster, and more effective development of ads and digital assets, and ensuring content quality.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is not an Enterprise-grade solution, but it's light-years ahead of the alternative you might be using - dropbox, intranet storage, or even physical backup drives. Even specialist services like Egnyte are close, but well behind in terms of control and management.
Well suited to small teams with a large, distributed clientele, different silo'ed departments requiring common resources, and companies working with lots of agencies and marketing teams.

User friendly and robust.
What do you like best about the product?
I am a new user to Flight, but I'm finding it to be a user friendly and robust tool. We use it to manager our photo storage and it has been great so far!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm too new - no dislike features yet. ff
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a place to store photos that was searchable, organized and accessible to multiple parties. So far Flight has met all of those needs.
It is very intuitive.
What do you like best about the product?
Search functions are probably the most helpful things about Flight. You need to figure out your tagging and keywording first before uploading assets into Flight.
What do you dislike about the product?
Plugins could be better. So far, you cannot do mass uploads/downloads into things like MailChimp and WordPress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Locating assets much more quickly and efficiently. It is also allowing outside staff to search for items that they would otherwise ask for from an internal staff member.
Easy to use interface
What do you like best about the product?
Friendly interface, amount of metadata we can include and information. Technical Support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I need to refresh pages to get updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of Assets Library in the company and friendly use for outsources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use all the great available technical support and available classes.
Client access/Streamlines creative development process
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to accept all file types and determine user roles. We've given several of our clients access for the co-development of website and it with minimal instruction/training, they are up and running.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system is buggy. Clicking on folders is problematic. The access to the system has been problematic internally and externally. Customer support has been good with resolving the issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlines image access and selection when concepting or doing art production. Good for our contract resources to have access to files without giving them access to internal server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for the price point, but hoping updates fix bugs.
Solid starter DAM
What do you like best about the product?
Flight had many of the features we were looking in a DAM, including varying user permissions and the ability to create portals for external use. The Flight staff has always been extremely helpful, answering questions and solving any issues we've had right away.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Flight is that it seems essential to set up the structure correctly right away. It's difficult to adjust the folder and album structures later on since they have different functions. It's also difficult to reconcile the library if an asset is uploaded multiple times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating a centralized home for all of our marketing materials. We love that we can share assets in many different ways - the marketing team has access to all of the assets, we can create portals for working with freelance staff and we can use the links to share things directly with individuals as they need them without cluttering up our emails and desktops.
OK
What do you like best about the product?
Looks good and it seems as though the people who work there enjoy using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as user friendly as it looks. The metadata is not complete and the previews are not customizable for displaying a summary of key metadata.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital asset management

Quick and easy access to PowerPoint, PDF assets for reuse in marketing presentations/campaigns.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will save you a lot of time looking for marketing assets. Won't have to recreate them.
