Canto Flight

What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly and very easy to use, great features to share assets. It is cloud based so can be accessed from everywhere. Great support from the Canto team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more options to customize the page and was available in iPhones/mobile devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it as a knowledge management system; helping employees find relevant information/knowledge when they need them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool and service.

Good platform for non-agency users

What do you like best about the product?
We appreciate that with Flight's user friendly dashboard and file organization, our users don't have to be highly technical to navigate it. We found that many similar products out there are really created ad agency environments which isn't us. Portals made it easy for us to organize files and give users access/credentials to only the content the need.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some redundancies in some of the steps to save and update files & portals, but it seems they are being addressed. We would love a better interface to share images to social media directly from the portals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a real estate management company with 30 assets across our portfolio. We needed a resource to provide access to each location's logos/imagery/floor plans that didn't eat-up our network space and that allowed us to easily control which image files should and shouldn't be utilized for marketing.

Good for the price

What do you like best about the product?
I like having the ability to organize digital assets in a way that makes sense for my employer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I frequently get a "debug script" error and have to refresh the screen fairly often.
Some of the onscreen controls (arrows to arrow down or to the next screen) are in places that don't make sense.
When I share visual content with someone, they can't view the photo usage/copyright info on each individual image, which defeats the purpose of keeping track of copyright information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tagging, keywording and separating images into folders has made it much easier than before to locate images for specific projects.

Confusing to master, then work for our needs

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can see all of the information in one space, and decide how you want to categorize and organize assets. I like the content quickview aspect, although it is very hard to find in the interface.

I like how I can use the flight ID to be more organized, and associate files to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not intuitive at all. It seems like there are some rules that are totally unintuitive (a folder can't hold files, only an album can?), and some important features are completely hidden behind tiny UI elements that the average new user doesn't see.

We also have had a lot of problems with file names being overwritten when content is edited. The versioning software doesn't appear to be very good and we have had to go back through thousands of videos to do metadata updates, video title updates after they were written over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing and accessing and organizing thousands of video assets and feature art. A way to quickly connect to and organize metadata.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I wasn't the one searching for an asset management system, so I'm not sure how it stacks up against other competitors.

Amazing cloud based photo CMS

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, the expansive technology, and the people that support this product. Flight by Canto has been indispensable to the two organizations in which I have deployed this product. It has streamlined photo management and made searching for assets a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to say what I dislike. The uploading is seamless, and the file management is very straightforward. If anything, there are times - rarely - when the speed is an issue. Overall, the customer service is superb. There is a glitch with color reproduction on .pdfs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this software every day to assist us in supporting our advertising and print workflow. The ease of use for sharing files and photos are the main sources of excitement and use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Talk to them and absolutely avail yourself of the training and support.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of accessing the information: the searching, uploading and navigation is seamless. It is easy to share content and allow others to upload items. This makes my job much easier and saves me time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the albums v. folder structure is a little confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a way to organize and access our digital photos and files. We had used another digital asset management system that was slow and awkward with its navigation leaving users frustrated.

What do you like best about the product?
I recently deployed Flight for a client, and the ease in configuring it to their needs combined with the minimal learning curve to get them up to speed on using it, was simply amazing. I scouted a dozen different options, from custom solutions, to locally served options, to cloud offerings like Flight, and in the end, nothin could touch flight for overall ease of use and depth of feature set.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost per user was higher than my client would've liked, but as they've used it for a month or two now and gotten to see how it simplified their workflow, the initial sticker shock has abated significantly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My client had a workflow issue between taking product photos, retouching them, approving them, and adding them to their website. This was previously handedly in a clumsy cobbled together array of spreadsheets, random emails, Dropbox, Google drive and more fringe services than I can even remember.

Flight unifies the entire workflow, and allows everybody to be on the same page as images go through the process.

What do you like best about the product?
Flight works very smoothly, even processing large files. Almost felt like a native desktop app, except in a browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think a more traditional folder structure would be good, rather than having to put any assets within an Album before they can be in a folder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We did not end up buying Flight.

A Solution For All Your DAM Needs

What do you like best about the product?
Their team is the best. If you have questions, they have answers. Response time to issues are addressed in timely fashion. They also seem to be ramping up the services they offer. I'm comfortable knowing that Flight is a company that will continue to grow and offer solutions that I may have need of as my company expands as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that better communication between theirs sales team and their development team is something that needs to be a priority.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My business is a celebrity interview television show, broadcast over OTT networks as well as Apple TV, Roku, mobile apps on iOS and Android. Being able to catalogue hours of video and photo elements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your due diligence. There are different types of management software. Chose wisely.

What do you like best about the product?
Not overly complicated, really enjoy the simple design and simplicity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Load times are a little slow. The wordpress plugin doesn't seem to work well which was a selling point for us. The keyword and tagging system could benefit from clearer distinction. Moving files, and folders could be a lot easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Flight as a long term solution to store and structure all of our imagery. Key benefits have been that our files are more organized and easier to find.

Amazing customer service. Awesome, simple system.
