Best onboarding experience
What do you like best about the product?
The Canto onboarding process is extensive, thorough and personal. All software onboarding adventures should come with this much individual support. Our Canto expert took the time to research our university and get to know our needs. She listened and provided excellent solutions. Fantastic customer support made implementation as easy as possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is powerful, and while it is relatively intuitive, Canto has many features. Mastering the service takes practice and, yes, homework.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Canto, our digital asset management was a mess of folders on a localized harddrive. Search features were basically non-existent.
Good digital asset system for University community
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is user-friendly for members of our University community. We do not need extensive training to save and organize images. We can readily tag and retrieve the images we need for specific projects. Canto offers ongoing training and webinars for learning, and customer support is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have not found any downside to the program. It suits our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing all the many photos that members of our community take and giving them a central repository.
Time Saver & organization solutions for all
What do you like best about the product?
Canto has saved time in finding resources that we can use for marketing materials. I can also save time by using upload links and portals to decrease time going back and forth with employees wanting to download photos and vendors we want to share content with. Along with that, being able to save 1 file in multiple locations and tag it in various ways makes it easy for it to be found no matter how 1 user searches for it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a way to bulk-assign photo recognition names and easier workflows/automation for access/tag assignments/approvals. I also wish I could integrate Canto with other tools or have it loop a slideshow on a permalink that auto selects a certain batch of filtered materials.

Making it easier to find and ensure reps are using the right resources
Great all Purpose DAMs
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is extremely feature rich and customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run into anything that isn't better than previous DAMs that I've used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cataloging, storing, and sharing images and video.
Great searchability
What do you like best about the product?
Great for teams that have multiple teams uploading things -- I can search for anything I need and its AI visual search will find it for me. Makes it so I don't have to ask who the right owner is and get led through complex folder structures.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if it were easier to upload all of our assets for the initial migration. It's easy enough - just a download then upload - but it would be great if the functionality to link to our existing asset storage was working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a fragmented selection of assets, so it was difficult for different functions to find the right image. Now we can easily search (filter through metadata or AI visual search) to find the right asset. It's also enabling us to share with external parties (like retailers) easier with portals.
Convenient digital library
What do you like best about the product?
Having one repository for all multimedia digital assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searching can be a challenge even with proper tags.

Being able to easily find files for marketing materials.
Canto is amazing!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is so user-friendly and easy to navigate. It arranges all digital content into an easy-to-use platform that can be shared internally and externally with ease. The search feature in Canto is excellent!
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing we have struggled with Canto is that multiple people cannot contribute to a collection. This feature was possible in Merlin and we lost that during the migration to Canto. We have teams that curate/add pictures to a folder in SharePoint and Canto not being able to allow this feature makes us have to contineu to use SharePoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is able to be our one-stop-shop for video, photography, and branding resources. This is excellent and so easy to manage!
Canto solved our digital management issues
What do you like best about the product?
We were looking for a platform that would be able to house our sermon videos (.mp4 & .mov), audio files (.mp3), lesson outlines (PDF & Microsoft Word), and graphics (PSD, JPG, PNG). We had our files in abou 20 locations (emails, Dropbox, OneDrive, individual computers, servers) and they were not organized. We were looking for a solution that would house everything & allow team members to search for the files & be user-friendly for them. Canto provided this. We created a standard operating procedure for how to enter the data (i.e., file naming procedures, listing of keywords, etc.). It has worked well.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the reasons I selected Canto was because they provided direct URLs and cloud links. However, I'm not able to use these direct URLs on our mobile app or other applications. I still have to download the video & upload them to those apps. So, they are not useful when trying to use them in other applications. They seem to only work well when sending them to others to open the file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital asset management. We're able to have our series in albums & folders & find all the assets associated with the one project.
Great tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate, practical, and good facial recognition tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downloading features still a bit hard to master or to mantain consistent when it comes down to cropping, changing resolution, etc. Those features are not as intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
finding images of people or stock photo with ease
Consistency is key!
What do you like best about the product?
The easy to use setting and icons. It's not ovewhelming and it keeps thing right at your finger tips
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really love more personalization capabilities for the email notifications.

Keeping our stakeholders charged with up to date, curated assets.
