Best multimedia archival system we've found for a global organization with room for improvement.
What do you like best about the product?
The level of metadata we can document and access we can provide for our users. General depth of organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
We share access to our archives to our organization for self-servicing multimedia needs. The power-users can adjust to the Canto's complex functionality but it can be challenging for intuitive user-experience. We hope this will improve with time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A way to organize a complex library of multimedia assets with deep metadata and provide access to our global users to be able to use for marketing and communication materials in an ethical way.
Wonderful Migration over to Canto
What do you like best about the product?
Very happy with the switch to Canto! I'm endlessly impressed by all of the tools and functionality. I love how easily I can customize and change settings and the online help center. Jonathon's tutorials were very straightforward and easy to navigate. He did a great job explaining and showing examples.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! Everything has been clear and there are so many features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is helping organize our internal archive files as well as creative mood board assets.
Good platform for photo storage
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is a decent photo storage library for my organization. It's been helpful to have the option to create portals for specific users/teams to upload their own files and then give admins the ability to review and approve those files before they become available in the main library.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto's user interface is not the most user-friendly or intuitive. It feels a bit outdated and there are a lot of buttons and menu items to sort through to find what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to adopting Canto we were using Google Drive for all photo and video storage. This resulted in files being scattered throughout various folders, duplicate files, and no ability to tag and easily search/retrieve the photo users were looking for.
Our first Digital Asset Management system
What do you like best about the product?
We appreciate that the user interface is end user friendly
What do you dislike about the product?
It is challenging to switch from workspace to main library and back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing photos and making them available to our campus partners.
Canto collaborated well with my team
What do you like best about the product?
Organized easy to use structure. Very intuitive format
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet. Canto has addressed my needs sufficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bridging with other databases to consolidate collections in a single searchable format
Overall a great tool for organizing creative assets
What do you like best about the product?
Canto makes it easy to organize a lot of assets from dynamic sources, and searchability is very easy. I like that I can be extremely granular about how and where assets are stored, and customization in metadata custom fields is very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some better user interface be develeped in Canto. Sometimes it seems like I need to make extra clicks that could be consilidated into one click or key command. I think these things will come with time, but for now there are small inefficiencies that could be streamlined. I'd also like to see support for custom automation/scripts that could further enhance my organization's productivity. For example, the ability to integrate a simple batch script for all ingested assets that identifies aspects of the filename then attributes metadata accordingly would be very beneficial (right now I have an exra step of doing this outside of Canto before upload).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization of a wide range of creative assets used for marketing purposes and for ecommerce website (product detail pages). Also sharing these assets with internal and external customers as needed.
Best DAM I've ever used!
What do you like best about the product?
As an experienced Marketing operations manager, I have had to use many internal (and external) digital asset management platforms. Canto is by far the best DAM I've ever used. It's custom portals, sharing capabilities, and smart tagging are unmatched.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't love about Canto is when you are uploading large files (for example raw images from a photoshoot, it does take a while to upload and sometimes can fail if its too many at a time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is our internal server for all imagery and assets the company has ever used and will ever create. It is our product information system AND our packaging and product development system.
Robust system for storing and sharing assets across teams
What do you like best about the product?
Canto helps our team better organize visual assets and saves us time with robust tagging and search functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The onboarding process is time-consuming but well worth it. Our rep was super helpful and gave us pointers on what might work best to help[ our team reach its goals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to store visual assets in Google Photos, however, the Google account was tied to other products that we didn't want all staff to access. Canto allows us to store and share photos/videos in a safe manner. Our staff can easily find or search for what they are looking for and no longer reach out to the marketing team for photo requests.
This is a great resource for photo acquisition and delivery.
What do you like best about the product?
The system offers a seamless experience with the ability to send upload links to external contract photographers. It is user-friendly for in-house staff, ensuring smooth operation. Additionally, it supports efficient sharing of photos with both internal team members and external partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to view upload links in the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering photos from multiple sources and distrbuting them thru one venue.
Perfect for image organization
What do you like best about the product?
We had a database of more than 50,000 images that had not been curated. Canto helped us properly organization those images with a simple photo structure and a robust system of tagging and facial recognition. It also allowed for other users within our group to access and download these photos easily, as well as send these photos to external clients through customizable share links and portals. The customer support and training has also been helpful from the beginning and continues to be a resource as we build out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Canto Connect program has not been particularly useful. We've found ourselves using workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has created an easy-to-use database for all of our images, making it easier for our communications team to organize and find the images we need and for our colleagues to access our images.
