Time Saver Extraordinaire!
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of time we've saved since using Canto is incredible. The search engine is so intelligent, truly a game changer for our small organization. The customer support is top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
The usability of the backend can use some tweaking. A bit clunky until you get used to it. The customization for landing pages/portals is also a bit primitive for such a powerful platform. Would love some more WYSIWYG functionality built in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It would take hours to search amongst our thousands of photos to find what we are looking for -- this has solved for that
Canto has saved our lives
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is extremely multifaceted which makes it really helpful for our team to search for pictures. I love how you can organize the backend in so many different ways--including in albums, tags, custom fields, facial recognition, etc. Finding pictures for all uses has never been such a breeze.
It's taken some time for us to get the hang of how to use the platform and figure out what works for us. At this point though, Canto is like my little baby that I feel so proud of.
Brian, our original implementation specialist, was extremely helpful in getting us acquainted and was available to answer any questions I had at any time. My supervisor and I still talk very fondly about him, even though we integrated nearly a year and a half a go.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have some improvements in terms of the portal feature. This is the tool that our staff use to upload pictures, which portals aren't really made for. It would be great to have an easier way to organize this or even a type of feature that is more intuitive for people who aren't tech savvy. There are a lot of instructions to upload and sometimes it deters staff for doing it!
I would love for there to be a feature to crop and edit pictures within Canto without having to download and reupload.
Also working with people with disabilities, we've noticed one flaw with the facial recognition feature. For some reason, it acknowledges every person with Down Syndrome in our community as the same person. I hope this will be improved someday!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto the one place where all of our pictures live, and we never really had that prior. It also serves as a way to organize every picture that we have in a system that works well. For an organization that has a lot of different programs going on constantly, it's great to have one place to go and easily find photos we need for marketing, fundraising or programming. It also has made it a lot easier for us to receive pictures. Being able to have one place where staff can upload all their pictures is extremely helpful and ensures we get pictures within a timely manner.
The damn DAM you've been looking for...
What do you like best about the product?
The organization and searchability of assets is so crucial to what I do, I couldn't be happier to find a platform that allows me to do so with such ease and efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest thing at this point would be the ability to add review comments to share links, it kind of stinks to have to leave comments through portals if you're a consumer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The quickness that files are found and able to be used through a one-stop-shop source of truth is awesome, I appreciate that very much.
A fantastic way to organize photos!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto makes organizing, sorting, and sharing photos with staff, donors, and external partners incredibly easy! I love the tagging capabilities, and the support that Canto staff provide is helpful to learn the best ways to maximize our use of the program.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto is fantastic, but I wish there was a quicker way to move photos in and out of cold storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization works with thousands of photos on a regular basis, and Canto is essential to maintaining an up-to-date photo library and helps us with searchability. This is a huge asset for our nonprofit.
Canto has simplified keeping track of our ads
What do you like best about the product?
We send out a large group of ads every month. Canto has helped us keep much better track of our ads. We now have a record of when they were created and approved, how many versions there are, and when they were sent to the publications. We are able to send links to the ads along with URL links or mobile ads directly from Canto. Before this, we were pulling our hair out trying to keep track of them in email threads. The staff at Canto did a great job training us and suggesting ways to make this digital asset management program work for our particular needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had to create our own approval process because the one that came with Canto didn't work for our needs. There are also some small bugs we've learned to work around. For instance, every time we upload a new version we have to remember to go back and click on "Approved" because it automatically defaults to "Pending."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of the production, approval, and distribution process for our advertising.
A lot of bang for your buck compared to other options we looked at.
What do you like best about the product?
File organization is a breeze, creating curated links to share assets with external partners is super easy, and upload links for team members who don't have direct access to our account is great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes performance can seem a little slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using Canto, our assets were scattered across network file shares, personal drives, and various Sharepoint libraries. With Canto we have a super convenient centralized repository that's so easy to use, that folks don't just drop them in random file shares instead of Canto. Searching is great, and sharing with external partners is great too.
Exactly what we need for asset management!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the support staff — they're always ready to assist when I have a question. The platform is easy to use, once you learn it. There is a lengthy onboarding process that helps you get acclimated. It's long but worth it! I really love the facial recognition feature and the smart tags. It was simple to move our assets from our previous system to Canto, I think we'll be there for a long time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not the most intuitive platform. It takes some learning to use it, like which buttons mean what and which settings are where. But it's worth it to learn!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto creates a secure platform for our staff to access our photo library. The search tool helps them find what they're looking for and limits the time they're asking the marketing department for help.
Easy to use and simple interface.
What do you like best about the product?
Canto is easy to navigate, simple design and takes out the fluff making the expereince truly about your work and your storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sharelinks can be a bit confusing but having a personal rep really takes the guesswork out of any questions I might have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More storage for me and my team.
Exactly What We Need for Photo Management!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the facial recognition and tagging features. It is so helpful to be able to quickly identify, and then later, track down, photos of teammates and clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature can be confusing and difficult to navigate, and the AI features aren't as thorough as I would hope.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is solving the challenges we have previously had quickly tracking down photos of teammmates and clients. We are able to utilize the facial recognition feature to find photos faster than ever! Also, the ability to tag photos with categories allows us to filter for use cases with a breeze.
Image Relay User
What do you like best about the product?
We've used the Library portion of Image Relay for many years and have recently added the Digital Proofing Tool. The two integrate very well together and are easy to use. The few times we've needed support the response has been quick and very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like a licensing option where multiple users who need very occasional access can share a seat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Digital Proofing for clients to quickly review and comment on proofs. The Libary allows clients to reach in and grab images they need for their use - usually for presentations.
