Canto - USA Pulses replaces current DAM with a more powerful CANTO system
What do you like best about the product?
We had an exsisting system - we loved it, but the system was blocked by US government office. In searching for a replacement, CANTO passed that test. We now realize the facial recognition is going to be super helpful for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not as well designed. And our past system created a system alert for recently pending status assets. That is missing in Canto.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Easy to use, organizational tool for asset management!
What do you like best about the product?
We use Canto for managing digital assets for several clients and love the ease of use, organization and how we can collaborate. The feature to share is frequently used!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could add more admins but it comes with an additional cost. But by no means a deal breaker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto allows us to easily organize photoshoot images that will be used in digital assets. The tagging and folders features allows us to better organize images by department, most frequently used, mark any as "do not use", etc. We can then quickly go back and search by the tags, creating efficiencies in the way we manage assets.
A great platform to house all your content in one place.
What do you like best about the product?
My experience with this platform has been nothing but positive. One of my favorite features in Canto is how easy it is to manage file updates. I can simply replace an existing file without needing to delete or reupload anything, and all the previous versions are stored in the version history for easy reference. This makes asset management incredibly efficient. It’s intuitive and saves me a lot of time when uploading and sorting content.
As a creative designer using Canto daily, I rely on it heavily throughout my workflow. It’s a dependable resource I constantly reference while developing new materials. On top of that, the customer support team is always quick to respond and very helpful whenever I need assistance. Canto is extremely user friendly, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone managing a large volume of digital assets across teams or departments.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only area of Canto that I find slightly inconvenient is the need to create albums within folders, rather than being able to drop files directly into a folder. That said, I understand this structure supports better organization, so I wouldn't necessarily change it. Another thing that would be helpful is when you delete files if you are able to just delete a version versus the whole item.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto has made a big impact by helping our team stay aligned with the most up-to-date content. It's easy to track when assets were uploaded or last updated, which reduces confusion and the risk of using outdated materials. The recent addition of their AI search tool has also made it much easier to locate specific assets quickly. Another benefit is how much storage space it saves on my computer. Since everything is stored in Canto, I can simply download what I need for a project and remove it afterward, knowing I can always access it again when needed.
Easy to use and many features still yet to be utilized
What do you like best about the product?
The search functionality and facial recognition for tagging of photos.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many downsides that I have experienced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Adobe Indesign and the Canto plugin makes it easy to link photos.
Solid & Reliable
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about canto is the reliability. At the end of the day I need a system that is operating and consistent and that is what canto is I do like the way that it's organized and I also really appreciate the brand new AI feature that let you do a visual search. A lot of times guest users for my organization don't know or understand how we've organized our system and having the option for them to do a visual search is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am a person who really likes the ability to customize software that I use for my preferences I feel like there are some buttons associated with the user interface that aren't in the most convenient places and often hard to find. I would love to be able to customize my own interface and move buttons around to improve the ease of use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work at a midsize university and we take a lot of photos and we need to keep almost everything that we shoot. It can be extremely difficult keeping yourself organized when you're trying to archive an organize tens of thousands of photos every year. Trying to do this yourself, whether on a local network drive or a simple cloud storage service, can be done if all you're trying to do is keep a copy - but if you need to access your files both internally as a team as well as with your partners across your organization and be able to find what you need quickly then you have to have a robust tool like Canto. We also need the ability to share albums of photos quickly where we only include a specific selection of photos for use and Canto excels at this.
Great tool for Graphic Design
What do you like best about the product?
The Canto Connector for Adobe Plugin, along with the customer support. The plugin has allowed for quick updating of images across multiple users on all of our marketing material. Along with helping channel the right assets to certain teams. The customer support has been great, and helped us integrate the digital asset management system into our current workflow. While also willing to help continue that support a year out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if there was an easier way to filter downloads on the reporting end by the metadata of images. Or to pull reports only on certain images, albums, or folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing photos and assets for use in marketing and communications throughout our organization.
Canto Has Helped Our Company Get Organized
What do you like best about the product?
We've worked with other Digital Asset Management Systems before and they were to say the least difficult and left a lot to be desired. I feel that Canto has consistently been something that has been easy for everyone in our company to use and implementing Canto into our systems has been easy as well. Whenever we have questions or have recommendations for the platform, I know I have my account manager or customer service easily accessible. I am in Canto every single day and it makes my job easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not a whole lot that I don't like. I think maybe it would be nice to have a better understanding of some features, but I'm sure that's also something that I could get more information from my account manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to easily share our assets, but most importantly have a significant amount of organization with the 1000s of assets we have. We've had other digital asset managers that just missed the mark in the ease and ability to organize to our levels.
Canto DAM - the heart of all Digital assets
What do you like best about the product?
The Canto DAM system serves as our central repository for a diverse range of assets. Initially, it was utilized primarily as a media library for managing images, videos, and technical literature. Now, Canto DAM is evolving into the central hub for all assets, integrating seamlessly with other systems such as PIM (Product Information Management), CMS (Content Management System), and Commerce platforms.
Canto DAM supports our composable strategy, allowing for centralized asset management. All assets are maintained within Canto and updates are automatically reflected across all connected systems.

What do you dislike about the product?
The contributor limit is sometimes a pain. Adding more contributors is expensive and requires a renew of the contract.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One place to maintain all assets.
Best DAM Software!
What do you like best about the product?
The organization options of assets, the sharing features, and we love the portals! Such a fantastic way to share specific assets internally and externally.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to be able to have a selection option for folders/albums in the folder tree without actually opening the folder/album itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For Brand Asset Management, we're able to share our brand guidelines both internally and externally and monitor access to certain features using the Asset Request feature. For Digital Asset Management, we're able to share a selection of photos either (privately) through a share link or more publicly through a portal. The portals particularly house our best imagery for student recruitment so that internal and external partners can access them.
All Our Digital Assets In One Easy To Use Location
What do you like best about the product?
We primarily use Canto as a digital asset management solution but it also allows our reps to upload project images and share assets with clients easily. We use Canto connect when creating images through Adobe tools or presentations in powerpoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use Salesforce for everything, it would save us time if Canto could be integrated with Salesforce. I am aware that there is a Salesforce integration but we have not yet implemented it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have reps all across the US that were constantly reaching out for digital assets or to ask questions on processes. Canto has allowed us to upload and organize all our materials into one portal that we can direct them too. In addition, we have created a flow whereby they upload local project photos that are then searchable by the entire organization when a customer is asking for examples of similar product usage. We also record tutorials on tools and commonly asked quesitons that are then loaded to Canto creating a FAQ section that anyone can access allowing them to be more "self-service" than they have ever been.
