User-Friendly DAM Backed by Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
How intuitive the platform is once it’s set up. While implementation does take some time, the interface itself is easy to navigate and makes managing and finding assets straightforward. What really stands out is the customer service—they’re responsive, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the setup process and beyond. Having a supportive team makes a big difference, especially during onboarding.
What do you dislike about the product?
It relies heavily on having strong metadata set up. If metadata isn’t planned and maintained well, it can impact how easy assets are to find and manage. This means extra upfront effort and ongoing discipline to get the most value out of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto centralizes all our digital assets in one searchable place, which makes it much easier to find, share, and organize content. It improves team collaboration and ensures everyone is using the correct, up-to-date files—reducing duplicate work and confusion.

Highly Customizable with Great Workspaces, Portals, Style Guides, and of course Metadata
What do you like best about the product?
I use Canto everyday all day - I am a Digital Asset Manager - and love the separate Workspaces, Portals, Style guides and of course all the Metadata and how customizable it is.
It's very easy to use and while I do train new folks on how to navigate the DAM, it's really intuitive and doesn't take too much hand-holding.
The Customer Support is also exceptional.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have been having some glitches where updated versions are not pulling through to our site, and we still see the old imagery.
There is also some degradation on the Video preview. But the downloaded video is still fine.

Enabling the whole company to access high res imagery and video for every product that we have ever created.
Robust Version Control and Easy Large-File Sharing for Global Teams
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspect of Canto is the robust version control, which ensures our global teams are always working with the most current assets. As a global company with a high volume of files, Canto provides a centralized 'source of truth' that is easily accessible regardless of location. Additionally, the ability to share large files with external customers via shared links has been a game-changer; it streamlines our workflow and eliminates the technical frustrations typically associated with transferring large data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary downside is the tedium of manual categorization, which consumes time that could be spent on higher-value tasks. The interface also presents a barrier to entry; without better navigation and more intuitive 'smart' features, onboarding new global users is more difficult than it should be. We also feel limited by the lack of deep customization in reporting and metadata fields, as well as the basic design constraints of the Portals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary problem Canto solves for us is accessibility at scale. It has streamlined our file transfers and document organization through a robust tagging system that makes everything instantly searchable. The ability to build custom Portals has also solved a major communication gap, allowing our distributors and global employees to access the specific sales and internal documents they need without manual intervention. This has significantly improved our workflow efficiency and document accuracy.
Media company with multiple client libraries
What do you like best about the product?
As an admin, it is really helpful having the ability to divide my users into groups. This allows me to restrict the content that my clients see to only their assets and keep each of our client's libraries separated.
I also like the control over the thumbnail view which makes for easy exploration of assets. The new library view is promising as a cleaner interface.

What do you dislike about the product?
Certain features are occasionally slow or clunky and buggy. For example, there is a delay in the time between when you click "share link" until it actually generates the link and allows you to copy it to the clipboard. This causes concern that users are losing their links or doing something wrong.
The delete and trash can functions feel treacherous and destructive sometimes. If a user doesn't know how to highlight and select the assets or albums they want to delete, they sometimes inadvertently delete things they didn't mean to. This makes users wary of making any changes to their library.
I attempted several times to link my google drive account to Canto, and syncing files failed several times so I gave up on linking to google drive.

The share link lag time seems to have improved recently. The customer service representatives are fairly responsive in a timely manner.
I have submitted feature requests several times such as my desire to be able to jump to a point in the transcript, and hopefully these will be addressed.

Great Permission Controls, but Share Link Reporting Needs More Detail
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to control the permissions for our contributors. Our goal is to distribute our assets to our sales team without them being able to manipulate or move around assets within our library, and Canto allows us to limit their usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting feature that allows you to view if anyone has accessed a share link does not include the name of who viewed it or how many times it was accessed, which is a metric our sales team would like to track.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is allowing for our photo, video and presentation assets that our sales team utilizes on the daily. It provides a controlled view of our asset library and reduces the amount of times they need to reach out to our marketing team for specific assets. This saves us a ton of time and streamlines the workflow for both teams.
Convenient Photo Storage with Minor Speed Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
I like Canto for its ability to use tags and make share links easily. The tagging feature is great because it makes it easy to come back to old photos when I need them. Being able to make share links allows me to share my work with others easily. I also found the initial setup of Canto to be easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is really slow at processing. I also don't like how the photo quality gets compressed in the preview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto provides a place to store photos and allows me to tag them for quick access. The tagging helps find old photos easily, and I can share my work effortlessly with share links.
Intuitive Asset Management, Needs Android App
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to organize and tag our assets in Canto, making the experience intuitive for people who are tech-savvy and those who aren't. Asset distribution and tracking work really well, especially since we're able to track what is being downloaded and used and what's not. The platform helps everything be easily organized, especially when I need to add multiple assets at once, and the mass tags facilitate asset storage. The initial setup of Canto was very easy for me and my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think one thing that can be improved is the tracking report. I think there's an opportunity to make it more detailed and thorough. Another thing that can be improved is the lack of an Android app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canto to distribute assets to our sales team effectively, improving brand compliance. It's a one-stop-shop for approved marketing assets and makes organizing and tagging intuitive. Asset distribution and tracking work well, but the tracking report could be more detailed.
Seamless Collaboration, Stellar Asset Management
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Canto's external sharing capabilities and find it intuitive for our sales team to navigate. It effectively saves us from the hassle of email back and forth and ensures our team stays aligned on creative. Setting it up was very easy, even though dealing with internal assets took some effort. I also value the attentive customer service team and the great support from our account team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were capabilities to edit the assets included in share links rather than having to make a new one. I also wish we were able to draft approval hub flows before pushing them out to the broader team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto saves email back and forth, ensures our team is aligned on creative, and offers great approval, sharing, and storage features.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to create custom filters so we can organize all our documentation and find everything in the least amount of clicks possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the emphasis on visual search features makes companies like ours feel like an after thought sometimes. We have mostly excel type files we share and we cannot search them as thoroughly and they are not live editable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have thousands of files that have to be sorted out by client and type of file, so the custom filter feature has helped us greatly to make it easier for our team to click and find what they are looking for without searching and/or sifting through 100's of documents at a time.
