Use canto for photo catalouging
What do you like best about the product?
The tagging option. I like that I can tag by themes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searchability is not as functional as some other programs I've used. It would also be great if you can search the rights. I know we can tag them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all our photos in one place with tagging by themes.
Canto has been a vital resource for organizing and accessing our large amount of content.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organize and find content, the ability to utilize batch actions for large groups of content, and the ability to share content securely with outside resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of features that are unnecessary for our purposes and at times it can be tedious to wade through all of them to find the features that we need. This is most evident for us in the portal creation; it's a bit confusing and quite a process to set up all of the portal features and I'm still not certain how all of them function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a very high volume of content that needs to be organized and easily accessible. In the past, it has been difficult to find and access content and Canto has provided a system for organization, access, and safely sharing content that has met our needs effectively.
Great support and good product.
What do you like best about the product?
I use Canto daily and I love that I can create a link for a variety of files from all different folders and subfolders. That is very helpful when I am sharing our creative content with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't quite as user-friendly as I would like. I like a software that I can poke around and teach myself how to use it. I find myself having to search for answers, on occasion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a wide range of stakeholders who need access to our files. We have remote employees, customers, sales reps, publications, and others with whom we need to share our photography and sales tools. Canto is a great resource to store our content and to easily share it with those who need it.
Canto is a powerful DAM but comes with a hefty price and is complex to set up and manage.
What do you like best about the product?
Cant has great sharing tools, and the interface is clean and straightforward. Facial recognition is a huge time saver for tagging images. In our trials, it outperformed the competitors on all the features we needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most challenging part of Canto has been setting it up in a way that works for our workflow, small team and limited resources. The high cost of adding additional storage space has forced us to compromise on how much we can use it. We also have had several technical issues with DNG files not downloading correctly, which took several months to fix. We also had some problems with the Google Drive integration not syncing correctly, and we should have been advised to set it up differently from the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto helps us spend less staff time assisting clients in finding the assets they need so we can focus that time on creating high-quality content. We also love all the sharing features in Canto that allow us to quickly select and share assets for collaborating on projects.

What do you like best about the product?
Accessibility. Files are easy to store, locate, and share.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not experienced a downside as of yet.

It's giving us a place to house creative content to share with clients. This allows for more streamlined communication and work with clients.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is for our team to quickly and easily find the digital assets that they need, to allow for greater efficiency across the board.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's definitely an investment, especially for small organizations like ours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our assets were incredibly difficult to categorize and search. Now, just about anybody on our team can find what they're looking for with very little training!
Canto Review
What do you like best about the product?
Working remotely, our team needs easy access to our media assets, and Canto has provided just that! This has been increased productivity and helps us stay organized as we juggle multiple projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we have a hard time creating portals, sharing albums and workspaces. Knowing which to use when has been a sore spot. Also sometimes uploading videos can take forever!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's reducing our need to have multiple HDD drives with us on video shoots. AFter filming, we can come back and upload footage to Canto and that footage can be immediately used by editors back in the office.
I love Canto so much!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how robust the metadata fields are, and the different portals you can create. Also they recently released integration with Canva which is so amazing. I also love the adobe connector!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way to sort through assets as you're uploading them, but in speaking with the canto team they have given me some great suggestions on how to offset the work of individually tagging. the bulk metadata editor is life changing!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is saving us a ton of time looking and finding assets. It's so helpful to be working right in Canva and be able to access my complete Canto library. We spend less time looking for assets and more time creating cool stuff.
Good tool for managing lots of files, but interface can be clunky at times
What do you like best about the product?
What I find most helpful about Canto is it's facial recognition and other tagging features for photos, I also like the number of files that can be stored securely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface at times can be a bit clunky and slow-moving as compared to other programs, especially when building portals and style guides. I think a drag-and-drop interface would be a huge improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto solves the issue of having an organized and secure place to keep files that are also easily accessible to other members of my organization. This has definitely streamlined the process of accessing files.
A promising DAM that has almost everything you need

• Relatively long load times can add up when searching through a large album or long list of search results

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto allows us to neatly organize and centralize all our photography assets. This is critical to our marketing team, which needs quick and efficient access to photography for various projects daily. As a bonus, Canto makes it very easy to share access to our photo library with internal and external constituents.
