Great for Agencies!
What do you like best about the product?
The organization and functional search tool - it gives us one true source for all of our creative assets both internally and with clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little difficult to wrap your head around at first to set it up, but you get the hang of it quickly once you dig in!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asset management - prior to Canto, it was massive and messy and a big time suck, but this solves that! The versioning tool as well as the robust search functionality is what makes the biggest difference for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't overthink the onboarding process. Get in there and start trying things out, worst case you just delete it and keep going!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Canto to house our image library and files. We will also use it to give people in different department easy access to our brand standards and logos. Outside vendors will be able to search for anything they might need directly from Canto too. As a designer Canto helps me to quickly find appropriate files for any project I am working on.
Canto is great for organizations with a large image library. You are able to tag images appropriately to be able to find them easily in the future. It also works well if your organization manages multiple brands, you can easily filter through exactly what you need for each brand. The price compared to most of the competition was a big part of why we moved forward with Canto.

Increase Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
The tagging, search, and sharing links are the best features of Canto. I also think that the layout is very visually appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Different places to do the same function often confuse some of our users. Personally, I do not mind this, but it creates problems when explaining directions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for us to have a better solution than a traditional server to house our assets
Easy to use for our team and company!
What do you like best about the product?
We love that we can control who sees what assets. We are able to control the download file type. We are also able to easily share assets with other people outside our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only con is that to share an image it takes about three clicks to get the URL copied to your dashboard which can be time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We love Canto. We just launched it to our whole company and everyone is very pleased with the tool because they are able to get their own photos without having to come through marketing.
Budget Friendly DAM Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Having a single library has helped better organize our content and allow us to direct the business to one simple and easy location to find content.
The system is very customizable, and I like that there's lots of choice as to how to set up user permissions and sharable links.
The upload feature is super useful and eliminates the need to have multiple platforms to share content.
For the price, the package Canto offers is great.

What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation could have been improved, and there's a lot of work required to set up the DAM on your own without as much assistance/guidance as I would have liked. Smart tags don't really add any value either.
The platform can be a bit slow at times when uploading content, updating asset information, or even browsing photos, but this is not a huge problem compared to the features and price.
Setting up and maintaining SSO was not as ideal, so we did not end implementing it.

Canto lets us organize all assets in one central location, and eliminates the need to purchase additional platforms to work with external vendors. Everything is in one easy location, which saves us time when looking for content.

The tagging feature is helpful since it allows users to search and access photos and videos quickly.

The SSO option was hard to set up and didn't end up working for us.

Canto allows us to quickly search for photos with common keywords or tags that are relevant to the content rather than having to scroll through folders or albums.

Searching for assets is easy. Everything is sorted by files type and organized by tags you create.

Load times can take a bit long, sometimes, depending on the number of items on the page.

We're able to see if we have requested assets quickly and easily.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature is the search that you can do with Canto. Its like looking for somthing in Google but applied to all the files and resources your company has. There are so many ways to categories and organize your content that you can really customize it to your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve to setting up your file, tagging, and folder structure so that it makes sense. Once you understand best practices you can set things up pretty easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our teams are having a much easier time finding the files they need for the work they do. We are no longer wasting time searching for files that we put in a folder burried on a hard drive. Anyone can do a quick search based on a number of items of information and find what they need.
Versatile and feature rich organization tool
What do you like best about the product?
We use Canto for campus-wide digital asset management. Our Marketing and PR team manages the application, which helps us distribute photos and videos to our campus departments and news media. We find it especially helpful for organizing and distributing athletics-related content. It is also helpful for organizing photos and videos for easy retrieval.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the application is laggy, but the Canto team is very responsive to issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a place to organize and share visual assets across campus and externally to media. We have found it increased our productivity and response times, resulting in increased earned media opportunities.

Overall we are very pleased with our decision to implement Canto for our digital asset management. It has increased our productivity and gives us an edge when responding to photo and video requests from media. It also helps us to keep our visual content fresh and organized. I would definitely recommend Canto to anyone looking to protect and organize photos and videos.

What do you like best about the product?
Portals - We have customers and distributors all over the world. This portal aspect will help us manage their content they are receiving and eliminate the bottleneck of people across the world having to wait a whole day to hear from us with assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The option to make a single file downloadable or not. We have some sensitive files and some we don't want people to be able to download but to look at. So it would be nice if we could make a single file not downloadable. They have other options like terms of use or watermarks, but it would be nice if that was a feature. You could do this only in bulk, so you'd have to make all files not downloadable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving a lot with Canto.. Version Control, Storage, file sharing, time differences, content management, etc. The benefit we have realized is this platform has made our assets much more manageable and searchable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your considering it, Pick Canto! It is such an easy platform to transition into and the support team on Canto is there every step of the way for you.
