User Friendly, Customizable, Great DAM Solution!
What do you like best about the product?
Canto's user-friendly and intuitive interface makes it easy to get started with little training. The upload process is simple, with tagging and keywords built-in. Administrators have full control and are able to easily customize the system and build appropriate access for users. The customer care team is great - onboarding allowed more than enough time for all questions to be answered.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto provides only a few user levels, and so there are limits on how you can personalize the access. There is no way to add alt text to the metadata and then carry it with the image into Wordpress. Overall, Canto has so many features, these are minimal issues. Login security is tight, maybe too tight - one mistyped password and you'll have to wait 30 minutes to access your account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is allowing our team to take images from several systems folders, and websites, and combine them into one central, searchable, filterable directory. When fully implemented, Canto will provide hours saved through efficiency!

Sign up for a trial and test it as many features as possible!

There are not really any major downsides of using canto besides that it works better on Chrome than other browsers.

Easy to use DAM Software
What do you like best about the product?
The quick and easy way to tag and search photos and other digital assets.

The software slows down when scrolling depending on the size of your library.

A centralized place for everyone who needs to find/use our images, to do so.

If you are looking for an easy to use software to maintain, share, and store digital assets this is a great option

What do you like best about the product?
Canto Support team is always ready to fulfill our improvement requests and customized integrations. Also workspaces are very helpful when you work with your creative agency and you need another step before moving all the new assets into the main library. Value for money.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workflow can be improved and project/campaign tool is still to be properly developed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto is a very helpful tool which helped us to gather all our digital assets into a dedicated platform, ready to be consulted and used at multiple level within our organizations. During our research for a DAM, we went into various platforms, none had an easy user interface ready to use except Canto. Canto Support team is always ready to fulfill our improvement requests and customized integrations. I would also recommend Canto for his value for money, extremely competitive and for the multiple platform integrations such as with Adobe, Office, Sitecore.
Working smarter not harder!
What do you like best about the product?
I love Canto's Facial recognition feature! We have a lot of assets where we need to identify people and facial recognition has changed everything! now we can search for people by name and access every photo asset we have of that person! Game changer! I also love being able to relate files and add custom fields to assets. This has come in so handy when we need to connect people's images to their stories and FOIP information. Canto has really helped us work smarter and not harder to find all of the assets we have in a more dynamic way!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found the uploading of assets to be a little more work than anticipated. The Canto Connect desktop application is helpful but when initially setting up out canto product it is a lot of work. When you have over 20,000 assets to upload it takes a team of people to make that happen and a good amount of time to get everything uploaded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to solve the daily problem of asset requests and spending hours searching our files for specific assets. Canto has allowed us to give access to all of our assets to all of our stakeholders and allowed them to find the assets they need. It has empowered our users!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are just getting started with Canto but LOVE it! We have over 15,000 assets uploaded to our system to-date and have only been using the product since March 1, 2020. Every day we are learning some new functions of Canto and how to better organize and tag our assets to make magic happen! Canto is worth the cost and I'm excited to keep exploring all the functions it has to offer to us and our clients!

I love the tagging feature. It helps be organize better than Google Drive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve, but once I got the hang of it , it is a breeze.

What do you like best about the product?
Canto opens right up to my files, tiled and easily previewed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes struggle with auto tagging, as it doesn't always best fit needs for my industry specific items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Canto to house our marketing ready files for social media updates, posts, marketing collateral, etc. This has been invaluable as anyone in our company can easily search tags and find what we're looking for.

Canto is a great DAM application for your internal file needs.
Smart Search!
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have the same asset displayed in different albums without having to deal with duplicated assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface design is a little dated in comparison with other companies, but it does what is supposed to do, so not the prettiest, but it works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started using Dropbox as a repository for all ready-to-use media, but as the company grew we needed something that allowed us to save time with recurring tasks like resizing assets or creating special folders with duplicated assets to be shared outside the organization.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use for our customers and accessible at all times for them! The impact this has had on our customers and our own workflow is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The permissions and portals aspect of it seems a bit complex but I'm not the best person to speak on this. That was my impression of it when first seeing the settings, but I am not managing the library full time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past we used to respond to image requests manually. A customer would request imagery for a specific product and we would host the images and send them the link. We would have to do this each and every time (this includes the same imagery if they happened to have deleted the images). Now that they have access to all imagery on Canto, both our customers and our team are happier. It has helped make our workflow more efficient and our customers can access the library at any time without waiting. Our team also uses the library when working remotely to access any imagery we may need for our assets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are having a spending a lot of time having to assist customers with images or media, a service like Canto can help alleviate that workload. It's very easy to use for customers. Our customers aren't always computer savvy and we like to make sure they have as little trouble as possible finding what they need.
Best damn DAM out there!
What do you like best about the product?
Super easy on boarding -- you can literally be dropping in assets within minutes. The ability to tag and keyword thousands of assets has transformed our business. The software's ability to check for duplicates was also incredibly useful. The control over how to share what, when, to whom is also life changing for us, we have a much more secure asset collection now -- no more links going everywhere with people accessing items for a lifetime.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could have a few improvements with keystroke shortcuts but small detail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Massive collection of assets with duplicates -- and assets we need to find in minutes, not hours. Canto made it so we can find them in seconds -- incredible resource.
