  • April 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and quick to pick up which has meant my teams have quickly onboarded with Canto. It’s saves time and effort that can be better spent doing something else. It gives a professional face to asset sharing with partners and press
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike to be honest. Perhaps more flexibility with portals and custom URLs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saved time spent uploading and sharing assets individually. Better internal view of the assets that we have.

Canto has been an enormous help to Healthline as a Digital Asset Management tool - organizing thousands of files across our company and allowing varying departments easy access to these assets. It is intuitive to use and the frequent updates are helpful in improving and keeping the system current.

No main issues to report with using Canto at the moment.

Organizing thousands of files across numerous brands.

Canto Cumulus is a great media data asset management platform

  • March 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Capabilities to organize and categorize a wide bunch of images, videos, and other documents of our company. Many of the functions are very helpful, e.g. the searchability and customizing collections of assets to share it with our partners and TPAs is really valuable!
What do you dislike about the product?
No function to share documents automatically to the sales team when they go updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing different types of data with our worldwide sales team. This saves us a lot of time in marketing!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canto's platform is worth to invest. The platform can be customized and aligned to own CI. Please invest enough time to work on a strategy before you are uploading files to the database. There are a lot of things to consider in advance especially all necessary meta information. If not you have to work on each file you have uploaded individually.

How do I love Canto? Let me count the ways ...

  • March 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Canto is that it just works exactly the way you expect it to. Even before I went through the official training, I found it super intuitive -- easy to upload files, easy to find them again, easy to use them with a huge range of design tools (we mostly use it with Adobe Creative Suite). Version control is going to be very helpful for us. I’m also stoked that it’s so easy to customize for our workflow. And the customer service we’ve experienced so far has also been top notch -- friendly, knowledgeable, and FAST. Thanks, Canto!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet! The default settings include a lot of options we won’t need, so until we finish customizing the interface it’s visually distracting to see them. Still, how can you complain about having “too many” options -- especially when it’s so easy to focus in on only what you really want?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s no exaggeration to say that Canto is My Hero right now! We finished migrating our assets and started using Canto just a few weeks before our US team was ordered to work from home due to the Coronavirus (our international team has already gone through this). I don’t think we would have all been able to keep working with the product we were using before. With Canto, our domestic and international teams can work together seamlessly from anywhere. And those of us with access to domestic servers can continue to load new assets that were previously unavailable to our design team overseas. As a provider for the agriculture supply chain we are considered an “essential business” and this is becoming a very busy time for us. I’m grateful we’ve been able to get up and running so quickly, and that Canto is so easy to use that the learning curve is almost nonexistent.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it! We have loved it so far and I'm looking forward to customizing our implementation to work even better for our workflow.

Strong option for a DAM

  • March 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service when working with Canto has been fantastic, with the team very responsive to all our questions and needs for the tool. The amount of options
What do you dislike about the product?
The software requires a lot of administration work in defining and setting up users and groups at the start of the process, to define workflows and access, and has many features and benefits that our team does not currently require.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All marketing teams require a DAM to house imagery, keep track of it, keep track of usage rights and share the imagery with internal stakeholders.

Positive Canto Experience

  • March 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good customer service can make the difference between a good company and a not-so-good company. Canto provides excellent customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is confusion about the permissions and the different user tiers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are taking image files out of local servers, where the storage costs are prohibitive and uploading them into Canto and their cloud-based servers, which is very cost effective for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Customer service is superior. Customer service will make or break a company.

Canto does what you need it to. Not the flashiest software. Solid solution for image management.

  • March 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy software to use. Not much of a learning curve. Does everything we need it to. Having an SSO is nice for any enterprise. Folder structure is intuitive. I like the feature of creating your own internal libraries based on individual projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The image editing feature is not as good as they make it out to be. Much easier to edit photos with Photoshop. Downloading images can be a pain sometimes if you have a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a central location for all our images. Big benefit of centralization. Ease of use is nice as well. There is no need to conduct trainings with this software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for the price point. If you need a simple solution for image management, I'd start here.

  • March 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

I love this platform - user friendly, great customer service, highly customizable, and provided much organization for our company. It's also a great and easy way to share materials with external users without there being any security issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no downsides at the moment, love it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Portals are your friend. Learn about them and use them.

The data asset management you deserve

  • March 25, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- User administrating
- Statistics about the data (now we can also use different pictures in the whole company and see directly which one we use the most)
- Sharing function for the press, doctors and employees
- Cropping function
- different versions of the data
- folder upload of data
What do you dislike about the product?
-missing cms function (f.e. typo3) for a directly connecting. You need a extra licence for it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have nearly 20.000 pictures and other data in the company (5.400 employees, >20 sub companies) we need to administrate and share. Canto helps us a lot to organize the whole process in the headquartner. Now we have time for other things.

Good idea, confusing UI and confusing settings

  • January 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the folder structure of organizing your assets. It's familiar if you are use to a file system. I really like the Canto uploader for OS X which makes bulk uploads easy. I like that you can brand your DAM to your company so the site looks familiar to new users. The cloud based nature of the service is great for ease of use. The system allows uploading and organization of images, video, powerpoints, PDFs, audio files and more. I love that you can invite non user guests to upload content into the system for organization and ingestion. This is great so you don't have to risk emailing needed assets or sending them via some other transfer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is confusing. A lot of buttons don't have labels and unclear icons. Also some interface elements only appear after hover over or by clicking. Also the website seems to reload on Safari. The portals take a long time to update when you make changes. The main organization page looks overwhelming to new users and the default view is sorting by newest assets. But I would rather show assets by category.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our assets were all sorted on a local server shared drive with no previews, searching, grouping, or sharing. Now we are organizing and sharing assets in our marketing department as well as the rest of our company. You can create portals for non users to have limited access to the assets you decide.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would compare Canto to other services for cloud based DAM. Another good service to look at is Brandfolder which has a cleaner UI/UX and templating for designs right inline. It is easy to learn but I would consider other options that have better UI/UX for general users. I appreciate all of the customization you can do as an admin but those options take a long time to take effect.
