Awesome to use but sometimes makes the computer slower.
What do you like best about the product?
It has a great interface and it is easy to use than the other GIS software on the market. Lot's of tool available that makes the analysis process easier. The Geodatabase feature is most attractive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It crashes sometimes and takes huge storage. Lag happens sometimes while trying to load the base maps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used ArcGIS for my academic research works and will like to use it more. It's built-in tools makes my work easier and somehow I feel comfortable to work with ArcGIS than other software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Exciting maps can be generated and spatial analysis can be done more accurately on ArcGIS

What do you like best about the product?
The ESRI suite has so many tools and abilities it really is only limited by your imagination.
The documentation is robust and they always seem to have answers to questions. There are so many ways to create a visual of geographic knowledge. More than just 'maps' ESRI gives you the ability to create interactive websites or "story maps" that allow for great customer engagement, and employee knowledge.

What do you dislike about the product?
It has a pretty steep learning curve for new comers. If you are coming to the platform without any geospatial experience it will be a lot of dedication and learning to make it work right. And there are PLENTY of firms willing to charge for their expertise in using these tools.

Asset management, network connectivity, replacement schedules, customer billing

What do you like best about the product?
The new user interface has been carefully designed, easy to understand and very complete. ArcGIS continues to develop its toolkit to provide powerful and easy-to-use GIS applications to solve any problem in the spatial format (where the problem is and where it is). Although these tools are complex in nature, they are very easy to learn and ESRI also provides excellent training. The software itself is an industry standard, making it easy to find trained, experienced, and skilled employees. Your support is very good. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and good to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost can be an obstacle for small organizations. We hope that you will continue to work to improve the cost model, especially as it relates to smaller government agencies. With the development of the software, the main applications have been developed in two different directions. The latest version seems to bring them back together. I hope this situation will continue for the foreseeable future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization uses ArcGIS to map events, assets, work orders and other features. Almost every department in the organization uses it to provide rapid response and analysis of spatial issues. Many problems can be better represented and analyzed in a spatial format. GIS provides tools for this, especially ESRI's ArcGIS toolset is very extensive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For GIS applications, ESRI is the standard. We've been using your application for 27 years and ArcGIS is a powerful product without a competitor we know. We have used spatial mapping to analyze and solve problems, and these problems can take weeks to resolve in tabular format. Without spatial data, these analysis problems may not even be solved. ESRI's ArcGIS application and online SAAS regulations make this work possible anywhere in the world, at any time.

What do you like best about the product?
ESRI has great tech support and forums and user groups/conferences.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing can be confusing at times especially when dealing with web solutions.

Maintaining our asset information spatially using their database models. Improved location accuracy.

The basic level should provide adequate support for your daily activities.
ArcGIS does the job but too many licences out there
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to digitize and capture from raster images. Editing tools are easy to use and locate. It has a vast majority of different tool sets for different jobs. For example geo-referencing, creating fishnets for map book production. This software was easier to use than GIS smallworld, CADCorp or QGIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many licences in the desktop version. I believe some tools should be free such as creating points from a line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Geo-referencing old plans. exporting tables to spreadsheet. Custom tools to enable custom commands. Good integration with VB.net and python. Not a big fan of ArcGIS pro.

The API engine that brilliantly lets user play with various Geo-processing tools and bring a real-time solution to the worldly problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system requirement is pretty exhaustive. One needs to have a decent PC to make the best of it. Also, the pricing mechanism is way too taxing for an average person to convince

I have been working on finding energy resources and optimising it with the available constraints/ leads.

The best part of the software is ease of work, and sources that provide helpful info when you bump into issues. There is a big community built on this software. This is very helpful.
One best thing about the SW is to use to know it. The SW has the tools ease of GUI is great to work. Constantly expanding the and exploring and incorporating the user input to improve the SW.

What do you dislike about the product?
The software is little expensive. But on the same not all of the current softwares are in the same page. I understand technology is expensive. But there are ways to reduce.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a municipality, initially i started this SW as a database to store the data visually and Geographics representation. Since then, the program we moved from the asset management to Utility design management.

It’s a good SW, it is like a best in the market at present with a vast majority of users. This is simply Great.

I like that it has a lot of capabilities and tools to get whatever job you need to get done. Support is awesome.

There is a bit of a learning curve like all software.

I am solving metro transit among various municipalities using the software to display data.

You can do so many things in ArcGIS. There are tons of options on how to do anything.

I would maybe like ArcGIS to make suggestions if it appears that you're doing something one way and there may be a better option.

Esri ArcGIS is a perfect program for keeping customers safe when it comes to public utilities. You can map your utilities.
