The most common GIS system
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS is a de-facto standard where you're working with spatial data in most companies.
Pros:
ArcGIS is everywhere, in private and government organizations. If somebody talking about GIS, it's most likely about ArcGIS. If you're experienced with ArcGIS it will be easy to learn how to use any other GIS system. The data formats like shapefiles, commonly used with ArcGIS are de-facto industry standards, that are supported by other GIS software. ArcGIS is one of the oldest systems in the market, so it sets the overall trend of how the GIS industry.
As for my personal experiences, I like ArcGIS it's easy to learn, easy to create great maps, and analyze spatial data. I think that the digitizing editor is easy to use, especially when you need to georeference the raster images, and it's better than in competing software.
You can easily automate your data transformation workflows without the need to learn the coding, using the built-in model builder. If you're willing to learn Python, you can automate even more complex workflows using the powerful built-in Python API, accessible right from the user interface.

What do you dislike about the product?
ArcGIS needs lots of resources, so you need to have a modern computer with enough RAM to be able to use the software effectively. Right now, ESRI in transition between the old 10.x lineup of the ArcGIS ecosystem, to the new ArcGIS Pro. 10.x is almost deprecated when the Pro sometimes still lasks the important features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm mostly using ArcGIS to support geographical research at our university. We use ArcGIS as effective digitizing tool to create new spatial data. Almost all the printable maps that we use in our department were created using the ArcGIS.

Esri GIS Review by Bob
What do you like best about the product?
the ability to make quality and accurate maps displaying vital project and site information. the ability to share information, layers, shapefiles, etc. as well as the ever expanding and endless possibilities for analysis
What do you dislike about the product?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
The power and depth of the esri and gis software seems endless, however it can be time consuming and cumbersome as you learn how to make the software manipulate and show the data the way you would like to see it.
SO disapointend.

Arc Pro 2.4 User Review
What do you like best about the product?
Arc Pro has a much friendlier UI than Arc Map and competing GI software packages. The ease of use of ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
What do you dislike about the product?
Basic processing tools being locked behind more advanced licenses. The transition over from Arc Map to Pro can potentially be lengthy but it is definitely worth investing your time into mastering pro as this is the future of Arc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Arc Pro to publish interactive maps for clients, we are able to use a combination of Pro and AGOL to create professional, easy to understand maps. We also use Arc Pro for ecological and biodiversity net gain mapping. We have found this assists our clients through the planning process, giving added visual aide to data collected in the field.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are other open source software packages available which will assist when a basic feature is locked behind a more advanced license.
AGOL is a comprehensive and easy to use package which can be picked up 'straight out of the box'. The added bonus with AGOL is the ability to use high quality basemap imagery, especially the clarity layer.
If you are struggling to switch over from Arc Map then the customizable toolbar in pro can easily be tweaked to meet your needs.
Look on the ESRI forums or look through GIS stack exchange when encountering problems, ninety nine percent of the time another user will have encountered the same issue as yourself.

Useful tool for mapping of data that can be improved
What do you like best about the product?
Esri ArcGIS is the most useful program for linking data and location in a specific coordinate system on different spatial levels and visualize the results on a map. It gives a broad spectrum of tools (Arc Toolbox) for analyzing the data. The link with Excel and AutoCAD is extremely useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Esri ArcGIS can be upgraded in terms of visual representation, both the interface and the external results (the maps). The interface can be friendlier and more practical in order to make the complex tools easier even for beginners. This way more people will be aware of the opportunities that the program provides. In addition, for the external results it will be great if there are libraries with customized colours, pattern, diagrams, even pictograms and infographics, with option to import and export from/to other programs, for example Adobe Illustrator.
Last but not least, there could be a button with link to tutorial and the whole package could take less space in the hard drive. The storage of the files could be organised in packages that might be generated by the program.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For research for my thesis work - То effectively connect population characteristics with the spatial environment and make conclusions about the access to certain places keeping in mind the socio-economic status of the population. For example, analyzing the location of the playgrounds and the access of children in terms of the occupancy and kindergartens in specific neighbourhood.
