What do you like best about the product?
ESRI is the program for geospatial analysis. But its main benefit is scalability. Its intuitive for new users to be operational, but can also handle complex analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike about ESRI. Only fault is AGOL is too streamlined and doesn't offer much value in terms of analysis and mapping.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to generate hotspots, kernel density mapping, as well as general cartography to show the layout of the county and where things are spatially.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Theres nothing else like it. No other product that does what ESRI does at that scale. Sure you could piecemeal your GIS using a variety of programs. But if you want the real solution, get ESRI
Industry standard....if you can afford it
What do you like best about the product?
Because of ArcGIS's popularity, there are a lot of forums, blog posts, and YouTube tutorials out there if you are struggling with something. This makes the program easier to use in a sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
The high cost of ArcGIS means that I am limited to using it on my University's computers, which is not ideal. I prefer to work in my own office or from home, so I am more likely to invest in learning the QGIS interface since I can access it on my own computer for free.
I find problem-solving using this program to be incredibly difficult. I typically have to rely on outside advice, as the online ESRI tutorials are often too complex or assume the user has a higher level of knowledge.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is the industry standard for spatial analysis and graphics. I am expected to use it for my research and it allows for complex analyses that can be run with a reasonable amount of practice.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
More open source options for students.
Great introduction to GIS
What do you like best about the product?
I liked that on ArcGIS desktop the ease to begin learning how to use Esri products. I used Arcmap to map bighorn sheep movements and I thought it was great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like how slow Arc Desktop sometimes could be when working with large amounts of data. It may be my computer but it still takes a while longer than Arcpro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use ArcGIS to map bighorn sheep movements in Lander Wyoming.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with Desktop then change to Arc Pro, it will help train you.
Industry standard mapping software
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS is a necessary software tool if you need to work with spatial data for analysis or presentation
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to learn, not user friendly, and the GUI leads to slow work processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I make maps and analyze spatial data to provide efficient service to people
Most used GIS software
What do you like best about the product?
It's the GIS tool par excellence. Defines what you can and can't do with cartography and adapts to every kindf of work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it's undestandable, ArcGIS sometimes takes too much resources and time and mekes it a little annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All kind of territorial and urban analysis, as well as cartography layouts.
Excellent Software
What do you like best about the product?
I work for a small city and the software meets all of our needs. They have solutions for all of the problems or projects that come my way whether it is emergency management or zoning.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the software can be a little glitchy, though the bugs seem to be worked out pretty quick.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently I am using the software for address management, emergency management, and online mapping.
Has improved significantly over the years
What do you like best about the product?
This software has improved. I am able to conduct complex analyses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features could definitely be improved. It could be easier to navigate this software than it already is. Also, sometimes the GIFs are so small that I cannot see what I am clicking! This should be improved. however, there is no other software that can even compare to ArcGIS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this in public health to create disease investigation maps
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is no other software like ArcGIS out there. I would recommend using this software.
Amazing possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
The options for statistical and physical analysis of inputted data
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve. It takes a while to really get into the swing of the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customers receive detailed spatial analysis products
Quality GIS
What do you like best about the product?
Esri's ArcGIS is the standard GIS for a reason, it simply works. Esri provides quality services and products that will fulfil your requirements. There might be other GIS software around, but they do not provide the service Esri can.
What do you dislike about the product?
Esri makes a great GIS, sadly it comes at a cost many can not afford to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized that Esri does a spectacular job at providing customer support and troubleshooting services. Their software is expensive but they do stand behind it 110%.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although much of the geoprocessing capabilities are available for free in other open-source software packages, non of the others provide the survice and backing. It is equal to using Windows 10 to Linux, they both do the same thing and depending on situation one performs better the the other but for a majority of your computing windows is fine.
Good software for mapping and attribute data collection.
What do you like best about the product?
How it links databases together and makes it possible to visualize tabular data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a learning curve but they are making it easier all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Address creation, parcel creation, planning and zoning.
