Quality GIS
What do you like best about the product?
Esri's ArcGIS is the standard GIS for a reason, it simply works. Esri provides quality services and products that will fulfil your requirements. There might be other GIS software around, but they do not provide the service Esri can.
What do you dislike about the product?
Esri makes a great GIS, sadly it comes at a cost many can not afford to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized that Esri does a spectacular job at providing customer support and troubleshooting services. Their software is expensive but they do stand behind it 110%.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although much of the geoprocessing capabilities are available for free in other open-source software packages, non of the others provide the survice and backing. It is equal to using Windows 10 to Linux, they both do the same thing and depending on situation one performs better the the other but for a majority of your computing windows is fine.

Good software for mapping and attribute data collection.
What do you like best about the product?
How it links databases together and makes it possible to visualize tabular data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a learning curve but they are making it easier all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Address creation, parcel creation, planning and zoning.
Expensive but worth it
What do you like best about the product?
It does pretty everything I need it to and lets me extend what it can do with things like Python and SQL

I wish we could skip this era where it's unclear whether to use ArcGIS Portal, Online, or Enterprise and just skip to the time when I assume they'll all merge together

Data integration, storytelling, good ol' spatial analysis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's expensive, but no other GIS platform can do everything Esri does as well collectively

What do you like best about the product?
The Arc GIS Tool Box is so rich with great tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
ArcGIS still takes too long to load. The default save to option is irritating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use arc gis to build maps for demonstrating relationships between property owners, infrastructure, and land use constraints and suitability.

The suite of products and integration capabilities are endless..

digitizing data and analyzing environmental variables
There really is no competition

The platform has many modules that fullfill the needs of all industries... and if ESRI does not have it, a third party app is there to add the support

There is very little to not like now that Pro is here.

We use it for parcel data, land records, and environmental/cultural purposes
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can make use of the product for every industry - there is no reason not to include it
Big changes for Arc are a good thing
What do you like best about the product?
Pro is coming and seems like a good change for the ArcGIS user experience. It looks more polished and feature rich. Eventually it seems like a good replacement for 10.X. I especially like the 3D capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
ArcPRO is still lacks many features that ArcMap has. It will be a while before our organization can fully switch to PRO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using digital mapping and orotho mapping functionalities in Arc and have integrated it with drone image collection.
ESRI Flagship
What do you like best about the product?
ArcGIS suite has met our business needs for well over a decade and the capabilities that it provides, along with its evolutions are typically improvements. We are not usually early adopters of the releases, but are happy with what we have been able to accomplish with each releases improvements
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently we have had issues with upgrading to later releases, some due to external factors, but we have bee concerned with the slow development of the Water Utility Network and with it's initial rollout finally occurring requiring 10.6.1 which we may not be able to move to because of those external factors. Another issue, occasionally with development of the suite, some tools have sometimes gone away or changed in where they occur or how they operate with no clear forewarning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved numerous business problems such as customer obligations, isolate and identify water main breaks/leaks, proactive maintenance of system components, etc. The benefits are numerous including cost savings, but most telling is the internal response from engineers and field crews who feel the infomation we provide by our systems is crucial to their daily job.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how ESRI products integrate with other software. I'm excited to try some of the new plug-ins that are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are not as user friendly as others. We use Citrix to interface with ArcGIS and the it can get super laggy. Not sure if ESRI can do anything to help with the process, but it would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mapping and accounting for all Navy assets.

the whole software...both ArcMap and ArcCatalog

Separate extensions...prefer to have it all bundle
