A stable and flexible tool useful for business process optimization that is easy to deploy
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is flexible. I want to see if the tool is good enough for my company to continue with its use or if there are some limitations. If, at our company, we are sure that it would take us to complete your business processes engineering exercise up to the level of enterprise architecture, then we would really be able to appreciate the tool. I am unsure of the product's capabilities because I am unfamiliar. I want to get someone experienced enough to suggest to me which is the best choice for a BPM tool.
What needs improvement?
Collaborations and process documentation in Camunda Platform are areas with shortcomings that need improvement. It would be appreciated if we were more flexible in managing the processes.
I am unsure if we can get a beta version of the tool with many features, including data modeling, apart from process modeling. If we get something that can be achieved with data modeling and collaboration features for any tasks, including the ones from outside, it would be much more appreciated.
We want a common platform for taking care of customs and domestic taxes since that could be a good thing for our business process across our entire company.

I have been using Camunda Platform for about three months. I am a user of the product.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It has been a stable solution so far since it meets our needs, including data modeling, which we need to do before we embark on analyzing and optimizing the business processes.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
My company has 6,000 employees, out of which around 100 people use the product.
How are customer service and support?
I contacted the solution's technical support since I wanted them to give me some facts regarding the points raised by a person from GBTEC, a German company, who claims that Camunda Platform can't fulfill some expectations since its imitations in terms of capabilities, especially collaboration features. I dropped an email to Camunda Platform so that someone from the support can let me know about the product's data modeling and whether it can go up to the enterprise architecture level or if something is missing in it, because of which we might have to get a beta or higher version.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was very easy and flexible.
The solution is deployed on-premises.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Camunda Platform is an open-source product.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We, the employees, had suggested the company authorities opt for Camunda Platform. I was looking into certain facts from Camunda's support team so that I can suggest a good way to help my company design business processes. Our company has to look after customs and domestic taxes, and BPMN in Camunda Platform has been done using the custom function.
What other advice do I have?
We intend to do a few things with the product, and I am unsure if it would raise or drop the product's rating in the future.
So far, considering the modeling purposes for which we used the tool in the last month, I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten.

The most valuable feature of Camunda Platform is its Microservices architecture, which is easily integrable with APIs.

Camunda Platform's customer support could be improved because their response is quite slow.

Camunda Platform is a stable solution. However, we recently lost a lot of data because the solution's database was down.
I rate Camunda Platform a seven to eight out of ten for stability.

The solution's initial setup is quite straightforward. I rate Camunda Platform a six or seven out of ten for the ease of its initial setup.

Camunda Platform's deployment was done in a day.

Desining the workflows has became very easy
What do you like best about the product?
The cockpit, where we can check the status of our request, is very informative, so the developer can easily check and fix it, the way it gives the error messages is very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when we develop the code it will not pick as that much fast where this is lacking developers' time, so it will be helpful if it will pick the code as soon as we develop

Developing the workflows became more easy and understandable, almost from past 3 years using camunda all these years it was a great experience and it is saving lot of time while developing frameworks
Lightweight Flexible tool
What do you like best about the product?
With Camunda we can do what we do with the technologies we already love. It has the flexibility to hook up other languages like Javascript, XQuery, Expression etc....
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes have difficulties debugging the process when deployed in to cock pit.

Debugging is little tedious

Best BPMN Tool in Market
What do you like best about the product?
BPMN 2.0 is the key, and its adoption with the platform is outstanding. Its simple, easy-to-use UI and Modeler help business users define the process and logic using low-code solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Camunda's platform 8 Self-hosted version is in a very immature state and has a lot of defects and gaps. It is not platform agnostic and requires KaaS and Elastic Search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing human errors, improving the process flow duration and timely delivery. Decisions help define standards to be followed and enforced in each execution.
An amazing product when everything is set up the way that it is supposed to.
What do you like best about the product?
Automation of processes. Using BPMN as a standard language and end product/results are very satisfying. Easy to navigate through the different existing components and sharing the instances seen in Operate for example.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can not really collaborate and in groups. Sometimes there are a lot of issues with the way it is set up with elasticsearch, but that could be an internal/self-hosted thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardising and automating processes within the company. The gap also between the technical and non-technical is lower therefore the learning curve is less steep compared to someone who has to learn how to code to automate their processes.
Powerful tool to connect business flows and the technology driving them
What do you like best about the product?
Visiblity into the flow from a less-technical perspective (nodes) makes it significantly easier to understand. You can quickly see where a process is, where it might be stuck, where it's going next. You also have a lot of troubleshooting capabilities within the system if developed correctly. It can act as a one stop shop to find out what the problem is and how to get it going in the right direction again. Camunda Optimize is also a great addition to the other product features. I love being able to quickly build reports that tell me how my process is working and how much value it's delivering to my company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the high-cost potential with each node (charged per work item on each node), our processes have been using less and less nodes. This is problematic because you lose all of the quick visibility into the process, which is what I love about it. We just don't see as much of the process anymore, so we're losing some value there. When we have an issue with Camunda, finding the source of the problem isn't always the easiest. We're improving our understanding of how the system works (on-prem version), but some of it is a limiation with our organziation and having enough application admin resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Orchestrated workflows historically had lots of preliminary work that each development team had to do, which takes up valuable development time. It was also not standardized at our organization for how to orchestrate workflows. From a product development perspective, monitoring and visibility into the orchestrated flows was difficult and we had to rely on several systems in order to troubleshoot problems.

What do you like best about the product?
Camunda is one of the best workflow orchestration engine i used, its very light weight and open source.Not only creating the business models it helps to create decision models . These can be integrated very easily using spring boot micro services.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see if we can create a user or system task adhocly in camunda running instance in future . This is something available in some of the old workflow engines which camunda is not supporting , when we migrated the app from old workflow tool to camunda this is the only feature i see its missed in camunda bitbwe managed with workaround of creating a new instance with same businesskey but there are some use cases which doesnt help through this workaround . I would love to see this feature in camunda

Performance improvement compare to other workflow engine, developer friendly unlike other tools which are having toomuch dependency.Easily we can test the models or decisions
