The most essential tool for monitoring

  • October 18, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus is one of the essential tools for monitoring. It is so simple to use. Its color feature makes it unique; we have a different color for the incidents as per the severity. Black color for the most critical and urgent incident, red for major incidents, yellow for sev3 and orange for sev4. We receive the heartbeat alert on the OMNIbus every hour, which shows that the tool is alive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Applying filter is little tricky, and since we receive the heartbeat alerts every hour , if there is any tool outage in between that hour, there might be a chance of missing SLA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have integrated this tool with Maximo and control M, so whenever we receive any job failure on control M we receive alerts on OMNIbus against it. We receive the drive storage alerts, listeners alerts, node down alert etc.

An amazing and easy tool to monitor alerts

  • October 11, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have never seen such an easy tool to monitor alerts. Its color feature for all the alerts as per the severity and priority makes it unique. Black means Sev1, Red means Sev2, yellow Sev3, orange sev4. We also receive a heartbeat alert every hour to confirm that the tool is alive and working fine. Most easiest tool to use. No addition training is required to use this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since we receive the heartbeat alert every hour so sometimes, if there is an outage during that hour, we miss figuring out the outage. Applying filters are little difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is integrated with Control-M and different servers as well as drives. So if there is any control M job failure or the job is not started, or the job is running late, or the job is running more than the estimated time. We receive an alert on the console. For drives also if it crosses the threshold limit, we receive an alert on the console.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best alerts monitoring tool, user friendly and no addition training is required to use this tool
