Comprehensive asset tracking and predictive maintenance have transformed lifecycle optimization

  • February 26, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

There are different use cases for IBM Maximo that I work with mostly. We use it for complete asset management. Anything that comes into the asset repository, asset management, asset evaluation, anything that comes into the asset, we use IBM Maximo.

Customers are basically more looking towards IBM Maximo for optimizing their assets and doing the asset inventory and anything that is related to asset, asset depreciation, anything that comes into the asset management, the customer is willing to go for IBM Maximo.

What is most valuable?

IBM Maximo is the best tool for the asset management solution. The solution itself is a complete solution. There are a lot of features in the solution and many things included.

IBM Maximo's asset tracking is the best.

IBM tools are quite expensive, but they are number one in the market. It depends upon the features and things that they give you. IBM Maximo is something that they provide which is incomparable to other products.

IBM Maximo's integration with AI is good, but they are still working on it because AI IBM Maximo has capability. It's an IBM product. IBM Watson is one of the products that is integrated. It's an AI product. IBM has a complete suite that you can use for the integration of any of their tools with the AI. They have the complete AI solution.

IBM Maximo's predictive maintenance is the best. IBM provides the solution that you can actually do the predictive maintenance. You can predict the things better in terms of the assets you have pushed into the system and what are the things that are going to have a life cycle completed or some sort of SLAs completed for the assets. It provides you a complete roadmap for the predictability of your assets.

IBM Maximo has excellent capabilities of reporting. It can provide reporting of any sort of dashboard that the CIOs require or the business team requires. It provides you the best reporting and there are a lot of options available for the reporting as well. At the reporting end, IBM Maximo is very powerful.

What needs improvement?

The only thing that I need from IBM Maximo is more simplicity. The application has been designed in a way that it is serving the enterprises. It needs to be simpler for the SMEs, or for the companies who can take some lighter versions. It is a tool that needs to be integrated throughout the enterprise. It's a heavy tool and heavy implementation. They should have some lighter version for small and medium enterprises, SMEs.

For IBM Maximo, it's a quite meaty situation, but the tool itself is not being procured by the companies which are at the lower side of the business. They must have some enterprise solution or a big sort of a company. The companies which have bigger market footprints buy this tool. Because of their competitiveness and their enterprise nature, the small companies are unable to do it. In different markets of the world, the regions, I can say better regions, they are not able to sell more on IBM Maximo side. Because there are some markets which cannot buy this sort of tools, it's so much expensive. IBM Maximo should do something so that the companies such as SMEs and small companies can buy their licenses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with IBM Maximo for more than a year now. It's just a year because this product is working, not for a long time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IBM Maximo is completely reliable and stable. The application is reliable in terms that it is not doing anything which is not required. It's reliable because of what requirements you have pushed into the system and what requirements in terms of the asset depreciation, asset monitoring, asset valuation, everything that you want to do for the asset, it's giving you the real pictures. The software is reliable itself. It has no downtime and everything is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

IBM Maximo is scalable. It depends on the number of assets. The licensing structure is scalable. Everything is scalable. You can make it scale.

How are customer service and support?

You can evaluate IBM Maximo's customer support and technical support as seven somewhere. The support is always good. IBM support is good, but the only thing that the problem in the support is their response time. The response time is slow.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

My experience with the initial setup of IBM Maximo is that it's quite simple. IBM everything has a wizard base, so it's not a challenge for anybody to do if he knows what he wants to do. It's easy for them.

What about the implementation team?

I usually participate in the initial setup and everything for IBM Maximo. I am also doing some certifications on IBM Maximo. We will be developing a team for that. It needs huge investment as well.

What other advice do I have?

AWS is more recommended for IBM Maximo. You can go into Microsoft as well, but AWS is preferred. IBM also has their own cloud as well.

Asset management has become streamlined and decision-making is now driven by lifecycle data

  • February 20, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

IBM Maximo is one of the best enterprise asset management solutions I have been using. In my organization, we use IBM Maximo Application Suite and its EAM and IT suite to streamline asset management, as well as maintenance and operations activities. IBM Maximo Suite helps to bring the asset lifecycle in front of decision-makers to get the best out of the client investment.

A specific example of how my team uses IBM Maximo in our day-to-day work is that it helps with asset management, facilities management, work requests, and work orders through to end life cycle. Implementing these core modules and components of IBM Maximo has allowed our organization to properly track physical assets and inventory, as well as how they are used to support end-user requests for services and supervisors or technicians picking up those requests and assessing the work to be completed.

What is most valuable?

The best features IBM Maximo offers are that it is very simple to deploy on OpenShift using Ansible playbooks. It also has excellent support for integration, is simple to configure, and the asset register is very straightforward. Work management and managing inventory are seamless.

In terms of integration support, I have used preventive maintenance, work generation, accurate work execution planning, tracking actuals, and I can easily integrate with other tools and systems.

IBM Maximo Suite gives me a single place where service cycles are standardized and tied to compliance.

IBM Maximo has positively impacted my organization as it has been a very useful tool. It reduced human error by moving away from pen and paper-based scheduling. It saved cost by minimizing unexpected downtime of assets, with approximately 50% of time being saved. We have also reduced overwork among staff by removing redundant information and smoothing task flows. It helps us scale our team without micromanaging small issues.

What needs improvement?

One way IBM Maximo can be improved is that the interface is not modern or particularly user-friendly. It takes a lot of time to load, especially when dealing with large data.

The interface should be made more intuitive and easy to customize according to user needs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Maximo for four years and a few months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IBM Maximo is very stable; I have not experienced any lagging or load time issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

IBM Maximo's scalability is very good as it can grow with my organization's needs. However, in terms of large data, it can sometimes load slowly.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support I experience is very responsive and proactive 24/7.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Microsoft Azure and also Amicron Factura.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment as preventive maintenance and compliance tracking have helped streamline asset management and decision-making. We have also reduced overwork among staff by removing redundant information and smoothing task flows. It has helped us to scale our operations team without micromanaging small issues, thereby saving a lot of time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the cost was cost-effective and the licensing cost is also reasonable, especially for mid and large enterprises. However, for smaller organizations working on a tight budget, it might exceed their budget and could be considered expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing IBM Maximo, I evaluated other options including Microsoft Azure.

What other advice do I have?

I highly recommend IBM Maximo Suite because it gives better control over assets without needing multiple tools. It also makes planning and tracking easier and enables data-driven decisions.

I am solving the problem of employees being overworked with a better overview of who is doing what. I find the integration with IBM modules really powerful as it connects everything smoothly. The ability to capture equipment defects quickly and convert them into work orders has been a significant time-saver. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Streamlined asset lifecycle management has reduced downtime and improves data‑driven decisions

  • February 12, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

IBM Maximo performed well for my client in procurement, particularly in contract tracking and management. It provides an easy-to-use central hub for all relevant employees and contractors to find MSAs and SOWs, and to see a dashboard of contract status and expiration. It is also integrated with other front-end solutions to help with information intake.

What is most valuable?

IBM Maximo is my daily companion, and the software supports asset management. Using the software, we can monitor and optimize our system's performance and conduct predictive maintenance to prevent sudden downtime. The software is very robust and cost-effective.

IBM Maximo is very well suited to asset lifecycle management and system condition monitoring. The product is user-friendly and effective in managing work orders. The software pricing is much more affordable than that of other EAM systems.

The best features IBM Maximo offers in my experience include workflow, assets tracking, and integration with other apps. The software is very effective in trend analysis and downtime tracking and is well-suited for preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance. Additionally, it has ease of use and seamless integration with other tools such as M-Power, Omino, and IBM Maximo.

The reporting feature is excellent, as it allows for order and job card updates.

IBM Maximo has positively impacted my organization, as we have noticed significant advantageous changes. The use of the software has significantly improved operational efficiency in our organization by streamlining processes and preventing system failures. IBM Maximo has reduced unplanned downtime by enhancing preventive maintenance. The introduction of this product in our industry enabled data-driven decision making through real-time performance analytics and reporting.

We have experienced specific outcomes, with fewer downtime instances of around ten percent. We have also experienced improved operational efficiency in our organization of approximately seventy percent.

What needs improvement?

Many improvements are needed in the customer support service department because of delays in response, which are very costly.

One area that needs to be improved in IBM Maximo is customer support, as there are delays in responding to our queries, which can be very costly.

The software is available only in three languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish, which limits its implementation for other language users.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience with IBM Maximo spans approximately six to seven years.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support needs improvement due to delays in response time, which can be very costly.

How would you rate customer service and support?

What other advice do I have?

For anyone looking into using IBM Maximo, I highly recommend this tool because it is well-suited to asset lifecycle management and system condition monitoring. It is very user-friendly and effective in managing work orders. The software price is much more affordable than other EAM systems. However, improvement in customer support is needed quickly. This tool has streamlined and automated many of our complex processes, thereby saving time and reducing errors. It has provided us with real-time system performance data and alerts for potential breakdowns, which has reduced downtime by ensuring accurate, timely system diagnostics that can prevent failures. I give this product an overall rating of eight.

Automation has improved asset insights while pricing and market support still need to grow

  • February 03, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We are reselling IBM Maximo as well. I find the automation products to be the most valuable features.

What is most valuable?

I find the automation products to be the most valuable features. When it comes to their reporting and analytics capabilities, I find them to be superb.

What needs improvement?

IBM Maximo could learn from its competitors by going aggressive to market, probably looking at price discounting, and emphasizing orientation and training and services to the end customer directly from IBM. Those three things can help. They should promote it more in my opinion.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been dealing with IBM Maximo for eight years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I usually do not recommend SAP products instead of IBM Maximo; the customer bought from SAP directly instead of buying IBM Maximo from us. They went ahead with SAP modules and modernization and improvisation there.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

SAP has advantages over IBM Maximo in that it was for one customer who was using HANA. IBM Maximo is expensive, and it is not a very well-known product in India. People have not heard of it. We tried selling it to Pune Metro, and they wanted to integrate with SAP, but the price that was quoted was very high.

I assess IBM Maximo's integration with IoT and AI as an excellent product to work with from a future-wise and technology-wise perspective. However, it is very difficult to sell in India because of the price point and no known expertise on the feature level at IBM, along with SAP in competition, which has its own tool to provide this kind of solution for asset management.

What other advice do I have?

IBM Maximo's asset tracking feature is difficult to sell in India because of price. It is not popular in India because of price and IBM not pushing, so it is not very easy to sell. We tried pushing it to some of the people who are running metro, but we did not get any big success. My overall rating for this review is 6.

Comprehensive Asset Management with Easy Setup

  • January 18, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can track all my assets in one application, which makes maintenance activities and planning very easy. The setup of IBM Maximo Application Suite was very easy, especially with the OpenShift environment and Ansible playbook. It's also great for managing work orders, purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoicing, including maintaining the complete asset management lifecycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The IBM support is a bit slow. When we raise a case to IBM, it will take some time for them to respond to all our questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Maximo Application Suite for asset tracking, work orders, creating purchase orders, and maintaining assets, which saves time, reduces costs, and eliminates manual paperwork.

Asset workflows have become highly customizable and have delivered significant downtime savings

  • January 12, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for IBM Maximo is as a technical consultant, so I help companies to use IBM Maximo.

A quick, specific example of how I've helped a company use IBM Maximo is that it is quite generic, so we help companies to add customization in workflow processes, for example, organization and how to use the asset or location application.

In addition to my main use case, I do install IBM Maximo environment for the clients.

What is most valuable?

The best features IBM Maximo offers, in my opinion, are agility and the fact that we can customize the application to adapt to the business of the client.

The agility and customization features help my clients specifically. For example, we have a client at the airport of Nice in France who had the need to adapt the mobile application of IBM Maximo, and we were able to do it very fast compared to other solutions.

I have seen specific metrics or outcomes from these improvements. For some clients we have up to 89% downtime reduction of equipment that generates over 1.2 million euro growth in revenue because we don't spend that much money on downtime and repair costs.

What needs improvement?

IBM Maximo can be improved by providing developers with more documentation. I think IBM lacks a lot of documentation and hopefully the community who uses IBM Maximo can help if other developers have questions, but we really need official documentation because what is available on the internet is not official and we don't have strong documentation from IBM.

I would also note that around usability, we see some lack of real custom needs in the applications of IBM Maximo Mobile. For example, in applications such as inspections, we cannot really sort by specific field and the search or filtering methods are not very clear, making it difficult to easily find what we are looking for.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Maximo for four to five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IBM Maximo is very stable in my experience, as we have zero downtime, especially since we switched to cloud, and we have technical solutions to avoid any downtime in the production environment.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would say that IBM Maximo's scalability is very good.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for IBM Maximo is very helpful and they respond very quickly.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the customer support a nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we used Carl and we switched to IBM Maximo because we didn't have the possibility to add simply and without a lot of customization our business rules to the previous application. Now we use IBM Maximo because we can add our business logic directly and without really having a lot of cost of development or customization.

How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for IBM Maximo is that the licensing process is very intuitive. We have app points and the users or the clients buy a certain number of app points that suits their business need. For example, if they have a thousand users or thousand concurrent users, they will need to buy around 300 app points.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with IBM Maximo for some clients, where we have saved up to 93% downtime of equipment and 1.2 million euro for one client on return on investment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing IBM Maximo, we evaluated other options including Infor and SAP.

What other advice do I have?

IBM Maximo in their last version includes mobility functionalities which can use the offline mode for technicians that do not have internet connection, and that is really helpful for them. Additionally, we can build workflow processes very fast that suit the business rules for the companies.

I would advise others looking into using IBM Maximo to really use only the application that they need. IBM Maximo can be really complicated if we want to use all the functionality of it. However, if we can be small and only use what we need, it is awesome, and if we need more complex scenarios, then we have to teach them to the user before we deploy it.

I would rate this review an overall 8 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Asset tracking has improved and predictive maintenance supports long-term work management

  • January 12, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I am using IBM Maximo for asset management and work management. As part of the asset tracking, the work and maintenance regimes occur on the asset, and as part of that, the asset gets tracked. Asset tracking and predictive maintenance are all part of the standard asset management capability.

What is most valuable?

Flexibility is one of the key components, along with ease of use. The ease of installation depends on how you set your solution up and whether you're going for Windows or Linux. If you know what you're doing, it's fairly simple. However, if you're a new user to the product, I'd rate it a seven. If you understand the product and you've got your design set up, then it's probably looking at about an eight or nine.

What needs improvement?

I think there could be a bit more focus on the UI components. IBM Maximo has had the same UI for many years, and it hasn't really changed. From that perspective, the UI is quite old-fashioned, and that would be one of my main concerns. Additionally, some standard processes would be handy. IBM Maximo is very flexible, but it would be beneficial if they had some standard processes that you could adopt quite easily without having to configure everything yourself. Those would be my two key points.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Maximo for more than five years, probably closer to ten.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability depends on and comes down to your setup and your implementation. You're not so much talking about the product itself, but rather your infrastructure and how that's been set up. I would probably rate it an eight or nine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I do not report directly from IBM Maximo. Instead, I pull the data into the data lake and do the reporting from there.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with both IBM Maximo, and I am currently in the process of implementing IFS.

What other advice do I have?

IBM Maximo released AI components in their latest version 9.1, so I cannot comment on that at this point in time. The AI components are still brand-spanking-new and have only just been implemented in version 9.1, so there hasn't been much uptake of that at this point in time. My overall review rating for IBM Maximo is an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Centralized asset lifecycle management has reduced downtime and improved maintenance efficiency

  • January 11, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I worked with IBM Maximo during an IT consulting engagement for a large asset-intensive organization in the utilities and energy sector, where the client's needs required a centralized platform to manage physical assets, maintenance operations, and work orders across multiple sites. IBM Maximo was implemented to support asset lifecycle management, preventive and corrective maintenance, and integration with ERP and IoT data sources. The solution was deployed in a cloud environment serving multiple operational teams.

I used IBM Maximo asset register as an asset registry and lifecycle tracking. I configured IBM Maximo to create a single, centralized asset registry for critical equipment, such as transformers, pumps, and production machinery, consolidating data previously spread across spreadsheets and legacy systems. Each asset was tracked across its full lifecycle: installation, operation, maintenance history, and decommissioning. IBM Maximo was configured to manage time-based and usage-based preventive maintenance plans where maintenance activities were automatically generated based on operating hours, calendar schedules, and asset criticality, which reduced missed maintenance and improved overall asset reliability.

What is most valuable?

IBM Maximo provides a very mature and structured model for managing assets, work orders, maintenance plans, and spare parts, which is well-suited for complex real-world operational processes. Another best feature is configurability without heavy customization because many business rules, workflows, and forms can be configured through the platform without writing custom code, which helps align the tool with existing operational processes.

I configured IBM Maximo to integrate with ERP.

IBM Maximo is a very robust and mature EAM platform that covers end-to-end asset and maintenance processes. It is also highly configurable for complex organizations, which was very good for us. It has a strong ecosystem and long-term vendor support because our customer colleagues, when they contacted the vendor for support, had a very positive experience.

What needs improvement?

IBM Maximo can be improved because the user interface is not as modern as newer SaaS tools, and implementation and configuration can be time-consuming. If IBM wants to improve the tool, I think that these two points are essential.

IBM Maximo can be improved in order to make it easier to understand how to manage and evolve the tool because it is not easy to use at the beginning.

For our needs, IBM Maximo's reporting and analytics capabilities are sufficient. It is a little difficult to use at the beginning, but when you learn how to use the tool overall, IBM Maximo is very strong and useful, and for us, it was a very good experience.

It is not easy to learn IBM Maximo at the beginning. I think that it is possible to improve the learning curve to make it easier to use in the future.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IBM Maximo since 2024.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IBM Maximo is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

IBM Maximo proves to be highly scalable, supporting thousands of assets and users across multiple sites, and it scales well both functionally and technically, especially in enterprise and multi-site environments.

Unplanned downtime decreased by 15 to 20%, work order processing time decreased by 30%, and data consistency across sites significantly improved, which are very good metrics for us.

IBM Maximo is highly scalable because it supports thousands of assets and users across multiple sites without any problems as it scales well.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for IBM Maximo was very good, but it was not a direct experience. It was a customer experience where colleagues talked with the support team during the development of the solution, and they were very happy about this.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

IBM Maximo was the first solution used.

How was the initial setup?

IBM Maximo is deployed in a public cloud.

What was our ROI?

Our measurable results show that unplanned downtime decreased by a minimum of 15 to 20%, work order processing time decreased by 30%, data consistency across sites significantly improved, and preventive maintenance compliance increased by 20 to 25%.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

IBM Maximo was chosen by the customer without evaluating other options.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend IBM Maximo to asset-intensive enterprises looking for a comprehensive and battle-tested EAM solution, which is a very good solution. I gave this review a rating of 9.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Good PO Management System

  • January 09, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that features are reviewed and updated. I love the ease of entering POs, revising POs and canceling POs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that you can't cancel a PO that has services linked even though you unreceive the lines. You have force close the PO and create a new PR which is alot of work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maximo helps us with issues we run into with asset management. It's easy to enter PRs and issue POs to our suppliers. Overall, it helps to streamline our buying process.

I love the fact that it's cloud-based and can be used anywhere without a VPN. It has built in audit and numerous safety features.
