Nx for Beginners
What do you like best about the product?
It is similar to other CAD programs so switching from one to the other is simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. I enjoy using the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to innovatively design parts. Not too many benefits just yet as I just started using it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the tutorials online and the help bar. It is very helpful :)

Quality CAD Software
What do you like best about the product?
The software is robust, there are never designs which you cannot create using the tools allowed. There is a decent community for learning the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is steep. Without having taken a class on NX, I would not easily be able to find its features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software allows me to easily create 3D models of parts, which I translate to 3D printed prototypes.

It has excellent user interface and does not crash as often as other software.

unable to change between metric units and English units

mechanical engineering. able to model parts with complicated geometry.
Siemens PLM NX
What do you like best about the product?
An extremely powerful software for integrating multiple aspects of product development. The user has complete control over most of the features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Definitely not the easiest software to learn. If this is the first software you're learning, it'll take a longer time to learn in comparison to some of the other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product design, assemblies

Ideal for complex assemblies, not the best for basic designs.

Easy for modeling. Plenty of training resources provided by siemens

Haven't been using it long. I have nothing to compare it to. So far no complaints

Designing issues and performing engineering changes. Easy to grasp concepts and customize placement and accessibility to help in designing quickly and more effeciantly

Enjoyable Product
What do you like best about the product?
I've used Catia for my college career and I found that program very fun to work with. NX is no different, it's very similar in the model aspect.
What do you dislike about the product?
This product is a little less advanced in its functioning compared to Catia. The model tree isn't as fluid and some of the features that Catia already had is now being implemented in NX 11.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create models and use NX to assist in aircraft design.

What do you like best about the product?
This is one of the easiest software's that I have picked up using. We use it primarily for designing molds.
What do you dislike about the product?
The egregious price of the software is one of its biggest downfalls. In fact our company is actually researching switching software just for the cost reason. Other than that it works well. We do not work using the assembly structure and it is nice that NX allows for the freedom to work without restraints as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main business problem we are solving with using this software is the ability to design molds for our customers. The major benefit to us for using NX above another software is the freedom it allows.

Be wary of the price, but make sure to factor in what you will be using it for into your considerations.
