Very reliable and robust product
What do you like best about the product?
Our company was using Megaport products for 5 years. I was one of the technical leads who was involved in practical configuration and management of the product. There are several aspects that I would like to highlight based on my experience:
1. Documentation and step-by-step guides are very well formed and include examples for almost all possible cases. This way, it was very easy to configure the product. That's very handy because configuring such connections is not something you do very often.
2. Very robust product. If implemented in redundant manner according to best practices and recommendations, it provides outstanding service. During all years we used VXC for our cloud connection, there was not a single incident to it.
3. Also, I found very helpful that all upcoming changes can be tested and verified in Megaport's staging portal without risking production environment.
4. Our organisation's current focus is Infrastructure as a Code. Megaport support for APIs was very handy here.
5. Customer service and help - I experienced that on several engagements.
Overall, I have very positive experience working with Megaport as a partner company, and I have enjoyed using their products.

What do you dislike about the product?
Don't have anything to say here. During all our engagement Megaport has provided the service on the level they promised to deliver. Not a single SLA breach.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Megaport provides us connection of our two Data Centers to clouds - AWS and Azure both private and public environments.
Excellent Service and Performance
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Megaport for several years now, and I’m incredibly impressed with their service. As a business that requires reliable, fast, and secure connectivity solutions, Megaport has delivered on all fronts. Their platform provides seamless interconnection with leading cloud providers, and the speed and performance of their service are exceptional.
Customer support has been top-notch as well. Anytime we’ve had questions or needed assistance, the team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and quick to resolve issues. It’s rare to find such a high level of service in this industry, and it’s something I truly appreciate.

Best Service
What do you like best about the product?
Not see service related issues or interruptions. In case if any issues comes, online chat support is best.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any specific comment to mention for Megaport dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working with Megaport , for raising a fault log and communicate with support team to follow up.
DC to Cloud Migration
What do you like best about the product?
The support and virtual circuits that are easy to set-up/tear-down.
What do you dislike about the product?
Virtual circuits are not redundant. You have to buy 2 to get redundancy. When a maintenance on an MCR occurs, the entire circuit goes down. I would think a circuit could have multiple paths in an MCR instance. To keep costs down, we opted on IPSec tunnels for our backup routes. Keeping our costs down to single, primary circuits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connection of DCs to Clouds. And interopabilty between AWS and our 2 main cloud providers, OCI and Azure.

There should be more interactions for the support team if there's an issue with the provisioning.

Connectivity made easy
What do you like best about the product?
This team has a real can do attitude! Megaport have worked with us to provide an excellent capability for our business. Networking has been implemented easily, and sales team have been great to deal with.

The only possible thing was maximum contract length available via online portal was limited to 3 years - not really a deal breaker

Easy connectivity between data centres provided in a cost effective manner

Obviously the flexibility is the best.
We can create a link for 30 days to satisfy some immediate data transfer need, then tear down that link when ready.
Think your current internet service is spotty or having issues? Provision an internet connection through Megaport to use while the other one gets fixed.
Your management thinks 1gb express route to Azure is good enough then chokes the link? Scale up via Megaport.
Megaport offers both onpremise connections where you do your own routing on your physical devices and cloud based routers network virtual appliances.
Also you can use megaport between cloud providers.
The fact you can provision with no term limits is game changing.

What do you dislike about the product?
Megaport is only available in some locations. To be more precise, Megaport services are available in major data centers throughout the world. They are not available in small offices or office buildings. Thus, you need to be migrated to off campus data centers to take maximum advantage of Megaport.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ever changing business requirements and management requests can be tough to deal with when you have onpremise, cloud, and wan environments. Needing to provision express routes to Azure, fast connects to Oracle, or cross connects to business partners can be challenging simply because of the timelines involved from providers. Waiting 60 days for provisioning, waiting for approvals from management for pricing, and waiting for a decision on term limits is a lot of waiting! And that doesn't take into account working with local support to get the link physically connected.
Megaport allows you to have a single connection that you can divvy up into multiple virtual circuits. Get a 10gb circuit, and divvy it up into a 2gig fast Connect, a 2 gig Express Route, and a 2 gig Internet Circuit! Scale up and down on demand. Pay only for the time you use, etc. The flexibility is absolutely game changing.

If you have your main services located in a major data center, absolutely take a look at Megaport and start enjoying the flexibility in both deployment and costs. Being able to provision a new circuit in literally a few minutes using a friendly portal is a game changer.

Well organized support over the chat and reliable service in general.
They manage to deliver complex operations like link migration over the physical datacentres and it works without problems.
No need to do any paperwork to provision or modify a service, all automated and billing works clock like.

didn't find negatives yet, but no excluding the fact that there are some in some specific context
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we decommission or provision new datacentres we can just move the connections between the datacentres over the portal without deleting and recreating routine.

We've been using Megaport's cloud connectivity solutions with MCRs and VXCs for several years now, and the experience has been outstanding. The ability to quickly spin up virtual connections to multiple cloud providers simplified our network architecture. Performance has been consistently reliable. Highly recommended for any business looking to streamline multi-cloud connectivity.

The ability to send encrypted SIP traffic to our telecom carriers which is required by regulators and telecom providers in certain markets.
