Enterprise plan is worth it.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the biggest hurdles in social media is pulling all of your data in one place. I love their campaign and tagging features that truly help you pinpoint what content is working well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Instagram connector disconnects pretty frequently, which can be an inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to uncover insights in our social media content was difficult when pulling the data manually through each platform individually. Their dashboards solve that problem. Another great benefit is the optimal time for posting based on your objective makes scheduling content seamless.
Few issues, but pretty good overall
What do you like best about the product?
The customizable dashboard! I have a small screen and don't love always having to switch around between platforms to see everything, and this is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't always tag people in my posts, which is annoying when it is part of the reason I build posts through Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Twitter is a new thing for my company, and we love the ability to schedule Tweets in advance for during the day. It saves a lot of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd say it is worth it if you really need to solve issues with Twitter. Otherwise, if you usually just use Facebook, you are okay sticking with just using Facebook to schedule and post and save the money.
Not any better than built-in social media schedulers
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a social media content creator and scheduler. The idea is to write social media posts (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook in my case) from Hootsuite and then either post them immediately or schedule them for later. In theory, you can write one post and send it to every social media platform. I like that Hootsuite has a link shortener built-in (Owly) so your posts don't get crazy long with links.
What do you dislike about the product?
In reality, you can't post the same post across platforms if you tag a person or an organization. Tags are different for each platform, so you have to make multiple copies of the same post. Thus Hootsuite doesn't actually save you time; you might as well schedule posts using the social media platforms themselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite tries to streamline social media posting and planning. You can see all your social media platforms in one place, both past posts and future posts, and coordinate between them. We had one person managing all social media at our organization for a while, but have since switched to assigning a different person to each platform. We find this strategy to be more effective but it does make Hootsuite less useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd consider whether one person manages all your social media or whether platforms are assigned to different people. If it's one person, Hootsuite could be helpful. I'd also consider whether you tend to schedule posts or simply post them outright. If you schedule, Hootsuite could be helpful, but you can't share or retweet posts on Hootsuite, only create new posts.
Social Media Management for SMBs
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a comprehensive tool for managing one or many social media accounts. It has a wide range of solutions - posting, collaboration, scheduling, and analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
To get all the great features of Hootsuite you may have to upgrade your plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite allows us to manage multiple platforms within one dashboard easily, saves time on posting and scheduling.
Great scheduling program
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to schedule posts for multiple accounts and on multiple platforms. It helps me to work much more efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the free version went from allowing 15 posts a month to 5. I feel like those who were already on it should have been grandfathered in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using my time efficiently to manage social media accounts of various clients, all with multiple platforms.
Useful for Twitter, but not Facebook and Instagram
What do you like best about the product?
The customizable dashboard is one of its best features. It allows you one place to view a substantial amount of content across all social platforms. You can see Facebook posts, inbox messages, mentions, activity, Twitter mentions, retweets, likes, followers, your own tweets, Instagram posts. It can get a bit overwhelming because there is access to so much content, but it gives you the flexibility to limit yourself to only the content you want to see.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will randomly have difficulty tagging other pages in my posts. I'll type out their name and nothing will pop up. Comparatively, if I tag someone within Facebook's Creator Studio, it will awesome select the page I'm trying to tag. On a number of occasions, I have had to copy/paste the content I want to post from Hootsuite into Facebook, which defeats one of the major purposes of Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Right now, we are currently unable to schedule out tweets in Twitter. As the only tweeter in our organization, I don't have the time to visit Twitter 5 or 6 times a day to tweet something. Hootsuite allows me the opportunity to create my tweets ahead of time and schedule them to post throughout the day. The only downside to this is that it doesn't seem to want to let you schedule in advance a retweet, which makes no sense to me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your organization has more than one social media account, and especially if it's something in addition to Facebook/Instagram, you'll want to sign up for Hootsuite. If you only have Facebook and Instagram, you can get away with just using the analytics provided by those two platforms as well as the scheduling/publishing tools found in Creator Studio. But as soon as you add Twitter to the mix, it's well worth your time to set up a Hootsuite account.
Easy scheduler
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to schedule and manage social media posts. The calendar allows you to easily view and quickly update social posts across channels and accounts. The analytics are very in-depth as well - lots of configurations available. I appreciate cross-channel comparisons and the ability to create VERY customized dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the analytics were a bit better, however a lot of the barriers are due to API constraints with individual social platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling social content and measuing social impact.
Good social monitoring platform!
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the ability to monitor multiple feeds and the ease with which to do so.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is pricier than other services and the posting is wonky sometimes, as the formatting does not always properly translate depending on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple accounts/brands with this is easy to do.
It is alright
What do you like best about the product?
I like to be able to link different social media accounts with one website.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't download it to my computer for easy access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes it easy to manage multiple Twitter accounts with one program.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try out other services and find one that works for you
Great for posting social media
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the easy access to different streams and having all the platforms I use in one place. I like that recently they have also added recommended times as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish that they would allow multiple pictures to be posted on Instagram and also videos. They have a reminder that helps you remember to post to Instagram but you still have to have the images on your own mobile device. It's literally just a reminder. I think that it's something that can be made more efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving posting to my social media channels at one time in a more efficient manner.
