Great Social Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the dashboards and layouts of Hootsuite. I have used it at two different workplaces and both times I found that I was able to jump into the platform and learn on the go. It's very user friendly and Hootsuite does offer a lot of courses to help their users not only get the job down but learn how to do their jobs more efficiently. It's a social media management tool and educational platform all rolled in together.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had a free beginners package for individuals who want to test it out and then potentially build upon that experience by purchasing new features. From my understanding, that isn't an option but if it is, I hope Hootsuite might market it better because I have looked but was never able to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The first time I used Hootsuite for a job, it was actually in response to a social media hacking. It does provide a better sense of security with your social media tools and it is great to have them all connected in one centralized space instead of worrying about passwords and sharing multiple passwords for multiple channels with your team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out. I wasn't the decision-maker to go with Hootsuite but I did enjoy using it and would recommend it to others. Give the free trial a go and really put it to use to make sure it works for your company. There are a lot of social media management tools out there but Hootsuite (so far) is the only one I would use again.
Great for the basics
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is helpful because I can schedule posts to social media in advance and see the interaction each channel is getting from a homepage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that I have to pay for basic analytics, that you can't post a multiple photo post to Instagram without the mobile app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I save time by scheduling multiple posts at one time. It's helpful to not have to email graphics to myself and then upload to the app on a mobile device.
Hootsuite is convenient and helpful
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I'm able to access multiple social media accounts on the same platform. It makes it easy to access accounts for multiple clients that have various social media accounts. I love being able to schedule posts for the month and beyond.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that Hootsuite is sometimes difficult to use. It's helpful, but I feel like it's challenging to navigate. I think that the platform could be more simple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm managing social media management for multiple clients that all have multiple accounts. The benefits are that you can access almost all of your social media accounts on the same site, and this makes scheduling posts for the month easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Hootsuite for social media management. If you are an agency working with a variety of clients, Hootsuite will make your job much easier.
Hootsuite Social
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a valuable tool for managing client's social profiles and content. The analytics integration is very helpful and makes planning and execution seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a basic tool, it's quite clunky and hasn't really advanced like some of the other social management tools that are on the market. It wouldn't be my top choice given what else is on the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a decent price for a reliable tool. It is pretty basic in its capabilities but it does the job for posting and management of social content.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a basic tool, there are other tools that are more advanced in the market but if you're looking for basic capabilities this will do the trick.
Helpful for ease of management -- less reliable than doing it yourself
What do you like best about the product?
I've used Hootsuite to consolidate areas that need to have social content posted (instead of needing to go into each platform). While I haven't extensively used their analytics portion of the product, I know it can provide useful for small teams looking to track social metrics with a single platform to look at vs. pulling those same stats from within the networks themselves and building a brief.
What do you dislike about the product?
When posting from Hootsuite, you still ought to immediately go check out the post in the platform, which in some ways feels like it defeats the purpose. Similarly, if you're scheduling in advance, you should still check the platform as soon as it posts. As with many things, technology shortcuts should still require human thought and intervention. Those who do social media the"best" don't do it the "easiest."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Often people want to keep multiple social media platforms running with as minimal effort as possible. When I worked at Dell, we had a small team at the time that used Hootsuite for a while, though I don't think it's used there any more. Now that I work at a marketing agency, we have a dedicated team for social media, and our need for the platform has decreased.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can afford to write custom posts intended to be platform-specific -- and use other forms of monitoring/analytics (even those built into the platforms often provide the right stats), most people would be better off managing their accounts that way. But if you're looking to simplify/minimize the amount of time/energy spent on social, then it can be an efficient tool for small teams.
Hootsuite is a capable, albeit clumsy social media management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The scheduling functionality, ability to toggle between accounts works well for agencies managing multiple accounts or clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
For agencies who need multiple users to have full access, the cost for each admin account quickly adds up.
Keeping client-level accounts organized isn't particularly easy.
The calendar function is not very user friendly.
Social media analytics is lacking.
Keeping client-level accounts organized isn't particularly easy.
The calendar function is not very user friendly.
Social media analytics is lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing several social media platforms across multiple clients all in one platform. Having the ability to publish content, like, and comment all from one place is huge time saver.
Pretty Perfect Planning Platform for small business
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a user-friendly, intuitive social media scheduling platform that has only gotten better with the addition of more apps and socials to choose from, such as Reddit, YouTube and LinkedIn. As a small business owner, they are competitively priced, provide demonstrable and relevant tips, and it's so easy to use and manage multiple accounts. I would highly recommend Hootsuite to small and medium-sized businesses and marketers.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only suggestion would be that the publisher page needs an aesthetic or user experience update - in particular, the content calendar. It would be great if they improved the format so that it was easier to see published and scheduled posts by week or month in an improved format. Difficult to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best thing about Hootsuite is the ability to schedule all our social media posts in addition to storing content that is yet to be published across a wide variety of social media channels and apps.
A robust scheduling and planning tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love the regular updates that are emailed to me, sharing my recent engagement. I appreciate that I don't have to go looking for it, as the emails serve as my reminder to check into how things are going.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I can't really say there's anything I truly "dislike".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling effective social media posts! I appreciate that the calendar is visual, so it's easy for me to see what I have scheduled and where I might be missing opportunities for more engagement.
Hootsuite is one of the best social media publishing tools on the market serving different users.
What do you like best about the product?
Scheduling tool, Content library options, Hootsuite certification
What do you dislike about the product?
Less comprehensive reporting analytics tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Timely scheduling of our business social media calendar which allows us more time to do other things.
Consistently proves its worth.
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite Insights has been a game changer for our brands. We have never been able to keep on top of our mentions as well as we are able to do now. The value given by insights pays for itself over and over again.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that Instagram Messages were available in the messaging tab (the team is reportedly working on this, though), and that seats are so limited (and expensive) to add.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved our publishing and listening problems practically overnight. We were able to also gain valuable reports which we use monthly to track our progress on social media.
