Some features are cumbersome, but there are making improvements

What do you like best about the product?
Having the ability to plan out your week's worth of social content is huge. Being able to see what brands are covered on certain days, and over which platforms, helps keep the team and I organized and on track when it comes to social. I also find the customer service team with Hootsuite to be very speedy and helpful in helping my find solutions to issues that I experience and questions that I have with the program.
What do you dislike about the product?
The are definitely times when Hootsuite doesn't integrate with the social platforms as well as it could. One example is posting videos with a 1920x1080 aspect ratio to a Twitter account within Hootsuite. Currently Hootsuite requires additional processing to make the video compatible to post, even if you already exported the video using settings that are compatible to post natively within Twitter. This isn't a huge downside as much as a minor inconvenience, but there are other examples too like some of the applications not working as smoothly when opened within Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are finding our social media approach to be much more organized and easier to quantify when using Hootsuite.

Their support services can help you through a variety of issues, so don't hesitate to reach out. They often respond within the day.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to schedule content on multiple platforms from a single dashboard. Facebook allows you to schedule things for FB and IG now, but Hootsuite allows you to do multiple platforms, not just the ones owned by FB.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations don't have 100% functionality, sometimes Hootsuite is slow to update when new features are released. In the past, adding images to tweets cause the tweets to post using a shortlink to an image instead of showing the actual image. This looked really low quality on Twitter. One example of integrations not being 100%
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite allows me and my team to work from a single point and manage our content and engagement. Monitoring comments, reviews, etc. on each individual site/app took a long time but Hootsuite allows us to see all of it in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure it integrates with the most important platforms you use on a daily basis to ensure you get the most out of the tools it offers.

Free, Effective, and with an Upgraded Interface

What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is easy to use, with free basic accounts and a fairly intuitive user interface. I've been using it for years, and find it to be a reliable way to schedule social media posts and gather basic analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm holding out for the dream - the ability to post to Instagram stories, and to create multi-image carousel posts on the Instagram grid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a one-person shop, I simply can't be on social media all day. Hootsuite lets me plan and coordinate content ahead of time, which is a lifesaver.

Give it a try! It's free and can be very useful for social media managers.

Easy to Use Tool for Social Scheduling

What do you like best about the product?
Tool is simple and easy to understand, makes including links and photos easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Free version limits how many posts can be made and scheduled in advance. Update makes it difficult to schedule multiple social channels at one time (for same post).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite solves the problem of social scheduling. They allow you to schedule posts in advance, on the date and time desired. They allow you to manage links and the images posted with those links, or they allow you to not share a preview of the link, but include a photo and description.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Free version is complete and allows for sufficient access of the tool. We would consider purchasing the next level of the tool and believe it would be money well-spent.

What do you like best about the product?
The only likeable thing is that one can respond to comments and schedule posts on multiple social media platforms and the analytics is good and easy for monitoring views, likes, reach, etc. Apart from that its not very appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing in particular, but small things, like the website lags sometimes, takes a lot of time to reload, some comments cannot be deleted, doesnt show all comments in real time,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Handling multiple social media pages from one dashboard is easy, plus it gives an insight onto potential reach of every post which i think is a really good feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider other options, there are better ones out there.

What do you like best about the product?
It is tested, convenient and a strong platform overall. It has been around a long time and has good brand recognition and support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Becoming a bit outdated as competitors have made in roads with broader reach. It's clunky, outdated, and way too expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves convenient and time management issues and the benefits are its proven and non-buggy platform. I feel that Hootsuite could use a revamp and honestly am trying other companies out for size. It is a competitive space now for this marketing software and there have been a lot of improvements in the Social media marketing space too boot. The user interface is still very simila r even after they redid it a bit. It's still clunky and buggy but the biggest issue is that the prices have sky rocketed up with the pro plan way out of reach for most small businesses. They need change and the competition closed the gap. It's too bad b/c it was the best at one point,

Not a good listening tool for B2B - ok for B2C and for general socilal media execution

What do you like best about the product?
HootSuite is easy to use with decent user flow and good customer service
What do you dislike about the product?
1) They do not have an API with LinkedIn (most tools do not). If Linkedin is a big part of your social media planning (as it was for me) they offer little value. If you want to are reliant on Twitter/Facebook they are OK
2) You have to build quite complex queries to exclude a lot of "noise" from the listening intelligence you get. For example if you are a product marketer, you have to suppress every press release, job listing, financial report, and other extraneous conversation to be left with customers/prospects asking questions of interest to sales and marketing people
3) They auto-renew you and are do not send enough notification of the pending renewal. I got stuck and spent 6 months trying to get out of the auto-renewed contract and had to pay 3 months of the contract even though we had not used the product in 8 months
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to flag prospects making comments in our industry that we could send info to and drive engagement and advocacy

What do you like best about the product?
Free Access to main features, Mainly Posting everywhere together.
So you have to type the content once to post it at more than 2 different social medias.
Also it gives 3 Social Media Platforms to post if for free, that is admirable which would suffice most of the Small Companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot Complain about it much as what they are giving for free does satisfies most of the Customers.
But if they allow linked-in page control and linked-in profile control together, that would be helpful to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly Posting everywhere together.
So you have to type the content once to post it at more than 2 different social medias.
Also it gives 3 Social Media Platforms to post if for free, that is admirable which would suffice most of the Small Companies.

They have a great free features, Try it before even considering.

if i am trying to schedule a video on twitter, it doesn't let me, even with a business account

i can schedule my social posts way in advance and it helps me stay organized

start with this platform and then you can move on to something more advanced if you need it. Hootsuite does not offer many analytics

Useful tool for your social media accounts

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to have multiple social media accounts and schedule content, which in turn saves myself and my team a significant amount of time and entry when it comes to social media content. This allows us to spend more time on engagement on each platform, which ultimately benefits our results.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitations with Instagram- tagging and multiple photos not available
Limitations in general- promoting and boosting posts

Limitations make it so that Hootsuite is not able to be a one stop shop for scheduling, promoting, and analytics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time with scheduling most of our social was key for us. We also enjoy being able to have access to Hootsuite's reporting and analytics, which helps us to identify areas of opportunity and growth for our social media platforms. Other similar products have a far less robust system, so what Hootsuite offers is a great value for us!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learn how to properly integrate all social platforms, and then you will be far more successful in the use of Hootsuite. It can be a great tool when properly leveraged! I recommend scheduling all that you can in the platform, and then using the analytics and information in their reporting to adjust your social strategies as needed.
