great product
What do you like best about the product?
scheduling twitter posts and analyzing data! Super easy to schedule the copy, image and date
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing! it's super easy to use and very helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scheduling posts on a weekly basis and retweeting from one platform
Good free platform
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is easy to set up and use, and I love that it's free (with limited number of accounts)--a must for nonprofits. The platform is easy to use via web or mobile and is continually updated as social platforms change/upgrade their functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of report capability for free version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Convenience; ability for multiple people to post to social media accounts; ability to monitor keywords
Great Simple Way to Schedule Social Media
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is very easy to learn and understand how to use. I love that I can schedule all of our business's facebook, twitter, and IG posts through the platform. You can include links and photos with ease. We use the free version for our relatively small business, however, I have used the paid version for my husband's marketing business, and for the price, it's absolutely worth it!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the site can be a little buggy, and even though I click on a photo to add or a gif, etc...it will not show up in the preview. This doesn't happen as often, so it's not as big of a pain as it used to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are times when I just cannot be at the computer to do our social media, so it has taken some time off of my hands. It's a great time saver, and I usually get on for an hour on a Monday and set up all of our posts for the week. It is also helpful in making sure we always have content posted.
Hootsuite for Social Media Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of Hootsuite. I am able to schedule posts for all my social media’s accounts and keep track of all the activity on my pages in one spot through the dashboard. I can use my computer or phone to schedule, retweet, share, or like.
What do you dislike about the product?
You are unable to use tags on any post but Twitter. For LinkedIn, I have to go to the LinkedIn home page and edit the post so that I can tag the businesses and people to increase engagement. Facebook offers its own scheduling and analytics option on their pages, so I use that instead of Hootsuite. That way I can tag people on my Facebook post without having to go in and edit the post after Hootsuite posted it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite keeps tracks of my posts and allows us to track them. We use it to monitor our social media accounts and develop better ways to increase our audience’s engagement with our accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hootsuite has a free option that is wonderful for scheduling posts and keeping track of your activity.
Useful, but with definite shortcomings.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to schedule single or batches of posts relatively quickly across numerous accounts is a life saver for social media managers. The analytics are also useful if you have the higher-tier plans. Without those, the analytics are definitely less potent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their integrations have suffered in 2018; other than on Twitter, you cannot tag other pages/accounts which can render their platform pretty useless if this is necessary. Their anayltics are also only useful if you have the higher-tiered plans which leave smaller businesses in a bit of a pinch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been growing our social media presence from the ground up this year. Hootsuite has definitely been essential in this. Their scheduling and multi-account management means less time spent off-hours on social while allowing us to maintain a round-the-clock presence to build our social following and footprint.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I realize this is a tricky time for social APIs, but the removal of numerous functions like tagging, Instagram commenting and liking, and limited LinkedIn integration makes the platform less user-friendly and therefore lessens our interest in upgrading/using other Hootsuite products.
Keeps my social platforms up to date
What do you like best about the product?
Sooo, lol im bad about advertising daily like my company would like. They set this up, and are able to keep my social accounts active, while I take care of my property.
What do you dislike about the product?
No any complaints, all of our properties can be kept on the same page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to post daily, to all seperate social accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great way to keep your social accounts all up to date quickly and efficiently. Also having multiple properties that we use this for is a plus.
Useful for managing social media
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a useful tool for managing social media. I like that you can view multiple streams at once. I've used this feature to keep an eye on multiple trending hashtags in my industry, like #amwriting or #contentmarketing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really like the scheduling functionality of Hootsuite. It's not as user-friendly as Buffer or other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media is an essential tool for any writer and Hootsuite makes it easier to manage social media.
Lackluster and glitchy
What do you like best about the product?
The blog and additional resources are really helpful, particularly for someone new to social
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s clunky and outdated. The UX is awkward and the product is really glitchy. Spent way too much time talking to customer service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling and tracking social media
Easy for Beginners
What do you like best about the product?
I love how you can easily schedule messages in advance, even if you have the free version that limits to 30 messages!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how, when scheduling to Facebook, if you have more than one picture attached, it posts the message more than once with only one picture max. One time it did that with a post that I had 18 pictures & I had to go & delete all of them one by one and instead use Facebook publisher.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets me schedule things in advance so that when I’m off work and it’s peak time on social media, I can still have content go out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If using for a business that manages multiple social media, it is better to buy the packages where you can attach more than 1 business.
Hootsuite - Easy and Intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
The Hootsuite platform is easy and intuitive. I love that I can see all of my social accounts in one place and how they interact with each other on comparable metrics. It helped show us that Instagram was a great platform for us in terms of content and engagement while we were lacking for Twitter. Even with no formal training, the system is fairly easy to understand just by working through it on your own.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have better compatibility across mobile and tablet devices - I mainly use on a laptop for this reason. Sometimes we have issues with Hootsuite taking a few minutes to update our accounts to real time also - there seems to be a slight lag.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't know how our brand was performing on the social channel, so this was helpful to get a full snapshot of our current state and allow us to optimize. For example, we thought Twitter was reaching our audience best, but it turns out that our viewers prefer image content over words. So we've adjusted our strategy to focus predominantly on photos and images with brief captions and we've seen a large uptick in our following and continued engagement.
