Great
What do you like best about the product?
I love that everything is in one place. It is a lot easier to manage campaigns and schedule post. I love that it is in one spot. The different app that can be added to the HootSuite account is also helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really dislike the new update Facebook and Instagram did, we cannot comment through HootSuite. You cannot follow or unfollow either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving a lot of scheduling problems, being able to find new people and make life overall easier.
Simple, Easy, and Inexpensive
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I am able to see all of my social media platforms in one screen. I like that you can time posts so that you are able to step away.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that you have to have a specific ratio size for Instagram. I do not like that it auto rotates pictures that are taken in landscape mode and the only way you find out is after it posted and is rotated sideways. This has caused a lot of embarrassment for me when I rely on an auto scheduled post because of a busy day and my corporation I represent has to text me about a sideways picture. Another issue is that the app version of Hootsuite doesn't show GooglePlus pages in the streams when you post.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage several social media platforms and can make posts and create analytical reports with hootsuite for an affordable cost. The biggest problem that I have been able to solve with Hoosuite is having a busy class and work schedule but still wanting to maintain a cared for relationship with the companies I take care of online. I can schedule posts any time in the day that launch themselves every 3-4 hours all while traveling or sitting in a long lecture, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare other platforms as well. This one is under $15 a month for the basic package, which to me, is reasonable. If you need to collaborate with a team, all using the same account, you might want to upgrade.
Great platform for social media management
What do you like best about the product?
I love how you can, even on the free version, connect multiple social media platforms and see what you have scheduled, what has been posted, replies, etc. You can also create different tabs that are specific to each platform. It is AMAZING!!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like about Hootsuite is that it doesn't post to Instagram for you. I would say, however, that this would more than likely become a feature in the near future!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media management! I am able to schedule out multiple posts in advance. It takes a ton of stress off!
Social Media Management Simplified
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is really good for handling multiple social media accounts by logging into a single dashboard. It is a life saver because I am able to schedule posts and focus on other things. One stop shop makes it easy to manage all my social media accounts under on platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Videos and Images sometimes are unable to load. Pictures quality uploads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social Media posting simplified
Okay, but not as helpful as I'd hoped
What do you like best about the product?
The auto-scheduler is the best part; and that you can post to all platforms from one spot. Also good for monitoring industry news with all the different news feeds. Auto link shortener is pretty nice too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes attempting to customize posts across different platforms can be a little tricky. The preview doesn't always show up, linking people doesn't always work. I find it a little cumbersome to use and would end up logging into my platforms a lot of the time and just posting one-off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to streamline social media management for a small team with limited resources. No great benefit has been realized because of it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth a go, especially if you are going to be spending a lot of time managing social media. If you aren't spending a lot of time on it, it probably won't help you that much.
OK way to manage social media
What do you like best about the product?
We started using Hootsuite to help with posting to all of our social media accounts. It wasn't easy to use and wouldn't work with half our social media platforms. If you want to add another social media platform, they would try to charge you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to work with all social media platforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was helping us to manage our social media platforms but failed to be able to use them all.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is easy to use neither does always work on all social media platforms. Hate the posting Hootsuite on our post.
good if you have a large team and a big brand
What do you like best about the product?
good co-working, good organization tool to be uniform across platforms
What do you dislike about the product?
very, very limited for posting events. needs eventibrite integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
frees up time for a small marketing team
The owl that helps queue Instagram posts
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is very functional for queuing Instagram posts. You can upload several photos, write captions, add hashtags, and use several different devices to queue posts like a phone, tablet, and computer. You can also schedule really far in advance on a calendar and change dates easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hootsuite is expensive! It works decently for free but you basically have to buy a monthly subscription if you want to get the most out of it. Also in terms of aesthetics its not the best app. I also don't like how the notifications are set up if you forget to post a post it doesn't remind you again or allow you to snooze on a post or anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Queuing Instagram social posts, interacting with followers, making sure content goes out, scheduling content for long durations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely consider how much you are using the product. If you are posting social media posts Monday-Friday and on the weekends and plan for long durations this product is for you. If your company needs help organizing content this is also for you. It can be used both on Instagram and on Twitter which is definitely helpful. However using Hootsuite can be pretty tedious as its the same task over and over and you cant queue Instagram stories as of yet. You also can comment back and interact with followers which is a nice addition to the software. It also is pretty mobile as you can use it on any device basically.
I think for the most part Hootsuite does a good job at organization and scheduling.
What do you like best about the product?
With Hootsuite, I enjoy the ability to be able to make quick edits and adjust things when I need to. I always love that you have he ability to see all of your social platforms and you can respond to customers with the click of a button.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like the way the calendar is setup. On all of the views they just don’t seem to satisfy the way I like to see things in front of me. I also dislike that it’s difficult to tag on different platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think that Hootsuite has definitely helped in terms of being able to efficiently schedule all of my posts as well as the opportunity of keeping up with social decisions. Using Hootsuite makes it easy to see every customer’s feedback.
Not worth the potential
What do you like best about the product?
1) Capabilities. It's one of the best - if not the best - social media tool to keep track of feeds. I've found nothing that can match its ability to search and monitor keywords or accounts.
2) It does have a free option. While it's very limiting, for some users it may be a nicer alternative to spending a lot of money on a monthly subscription.
3) It's not hard to understand.

What do you dislike about the product?
1) It's really outdated as far as its design goes. It looks like it was awesome in 2010 (which is was) and then never really changed its interface.
2) Not everything is included, even if you pay for it. Reports, for example, cost extra. No bueno.
3) It's really clunky. For example, I use it primarily to monitor keywords and account streams. I then take the tweets and retweets and load it to eClincher, my preferred scheduling system. The issue is that it refreshes (which is not a terrible thing) but because it's so massive, it often freezes my Hootsuite or makes it otherwise impossible to do anything until the refresh is completed. It's frustrating to want to check on a link only to have to wait 1-2 minutes in order to do so. In addition, as it refreshes, it has a nasty habit of sometimes of automatically updating the feed. I can't tell you how many times I've clicked to edit a retweet only to have it update. I end up opening the tweet above it instead or (worse yet) I'll accidentally click on retweet instead.
4) It's scheduling is time-consuming and frustrating. It's not the most effective system for scheduling.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite really rocks the industry in monitoring keyword and account streams. That's about the other benefit from it. The rest of it fails to impress me compared to other systems out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't depend on Hootsuite for scheduling. It's best used for monitoring only. I switched to a different scheduling system due to its consistent "failed to deploy" scheduling issues.
