Great platform for social media aggregation and analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite has a really easy interface, with lots of add on features. The reporting is very flexible and the team collaboration is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is better for Twitter than anything else. Facebook continually improves its on-site business management functionality, meaning it is tempting to log on there rather than use Hootsuite - if any team member does this, it negates the audit trail and aggregation features. It is also expensive, at the high end of the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aggregation of all social media accounts, internal collaboration, reporting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it if within budget, but allocate enough resource to make the most of the apps and analytics. Have multiple people using it and assigning messages etc. You only get out what you put in.
Only useful if you buy the pro version
What do you like best about the product?
It allows you to shorten and track your links in social media posts
What do you dislike about the product?
The software does not let you schedule twitter posts that include images. It seems to be some sort of glitch in the software that is only remedied when you upgrade to the (very expensive) paid version. You can schedule tweets and the images will seem to attach correctly, but they will not publish- only the text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scheduling social media posts in advance, shortening long links into brief, tweet-friendly links

Perhaps find a different program that has a more reasonably priced pro version or a more functional free version

What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a very easy-to-use email marketing automation tool and it does not require any technical skills to install, integrate it with social media pages and and manage the profile. I like the fact that user can add up to 5 social media profiles and manage it through Hootsuite for free. Another think I like about Hootsuite software is an accurate reporting and analytics and quick customer support team
What do you dislike about the product?
So many features could be overwhelming first, but once the user gets used to all of the features become very easy-to-operate with. Another thing is that once you exceed 5 social media pages the price is $19 per month and you have to pay annually. The most upsetting fact is that when you need more than 1 user, it is considered as a team plan and costs $100 a month which is way too much for a social media automation tool like Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Hootsuite as a social media marketing automation solution to automate social media campaigns and to schedule, edit, and post social media posts. We also use Hootsuite's reporting and analytics features for the insights and tips to improve our company's social media content strategy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Hootsuite to content marketers, social media marketers, community managers, digital marketing professionals and others who want to automate their social media campaigns and social media content marketing. The tool works good and safes your time.
Proficient tool, but free version is limited
What do you like best about the product?
I love the interface itself. The UI is intuitive and easy-to-read. The feeds that can sit next to each other help me to visualize what I need to be showing across our different channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reports and other functions are limited to the paid plans, which can get expensive for businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to get a much better picture of what our "social presence" looks like by having the aggregation at our fingertips along with the capability of integrating with our existing Microsoft tools for organizing tasks related to social media.

I can actually schedule Instagram posts in advance

Make sure you actually need it and it’s a worthwhile investment

Scheduling tweets and not having to worry about them, it just happens

I've found it impossible to use this to schedule anything to Instagram, even when using the app to try and publish them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating out Twitter feed. I still log in, but if there is something we're trying to push, I can schedule everything at once.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I loved SproutSocial but it wasn't something my company would pay for. HootSuite is functional and you can't beat the price. I don't utilize it as much as I could, but may use it more in the future.

I love the ability to schedule posts across all networks - it is very efficient and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to be able to track specific hashtags in a way where Hootsuite was able to count and measure their success for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me be more productive - I am able to get social media scheduling ready at one time, and easily tweak things on the go.

Easy to maintain all social channels in one place. Great scheduling feature

I'm concerned that Facebook isn't pleased about the use of this product and that posts are not as visible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm super busy and having everything in one place is really helpful. It's also great that I can schedule posts outside of business hours. Tracking my hashtags and following others is also very easy!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My only concern with the product is in regard to Facebook lowering the ranking of posts coming from this software. The same is true for its competitors, though, so it's not better or worse than competitor products in regard to this particular issue.
