Okay if youre trying to cut costs
What do you like best about the product?
It's affordable - support is fairly responsive - all of our clients know it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Consistently disconnects - bad excuses when things break or go wrong - interface is busy - does not integrate well with ad component - reporting lacks everything but vanity metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consistently leaves us hanging when posts do not publish or accounts disconnect, with no warning or heads up. A lot of manually work to fix. But all of our clients know it - and its cheaper than other platforms to manage 200+ clients at once.
Vital for agency work. A great tool to automate my social media posts, across many clients.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can load up my queue and forget it. It will notify me if one of the integrations need to be refreshed, or if anything went wrong. I like that it works with all of the main social media platforms, and that it allows me to customize the content on each one.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could more easily tag other accounts and users in it. @mentions don't work for me very well so it would complete automate and replace my social media posting if it did that. I also wish it was a better monitoring or listening app that could do the job of a software like Vocus. If Hootsuite did that, it would be the Holy Grail! I also wish I could undock some of the channels and run them like a widget on my desktop. Once you have several channels, it gets a bit unwieldly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time is money, so If I can use one tool and post one thing and have it "behave" on multiple platforms, that's a business win! Hootsuite solves the problem of managing all of my platforms, yet not duplicating content for a cookie cutter look.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a small business or agency and use more that 4-5 social media platforms, Hootsuite is a required tool for for your Toolbox. They just started supporting Instagram, and that is a key feature for a couple clients of ours.
Good for scheduling, Okay for Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
If you're looking for a tool that allows you to share and schedule content to multiple channels, Hootsuite is great. It now allows you to see a preview of your scheduled posts in the Publisher view which is helpful when you're trying to curate a consistent look to your social media.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting features are somewhat lacking and a bit unsophisticated - so much so that I often go back to my social media accounts to verify that the information is correct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The nice thing is that you can set up your reports to be sent to your email at the end of each month. A good reminder to stay on top of your stats.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider whether you need a tool to help you post or whether you need a tool that helps you post and keep track of your results.
Great for peoples who use more than one social media platform
What do you like best about the product?
I saved time and energy letting hootsuit post for me. I write up the post and tell them when to post, and it posts to more than just one account. I can have it post all of the social media platform at the same time or at at random times. This meant a more sleep too. No more am posting when I should be a keeping I can have both now...
What do you dislike about the product?
In the beginning it's a bit overwhelming, too many options, free trial left me feeling rushed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting things quickly like I needed it to, put all my information in one place sdo it was easy to see what works and what doesn't.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It takes time to get started, don't rush!
Great Social Media Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy having one place to monitor and manage social media for three different accounts for my organization. I also appreciate the analytics aspect so I didn't have to configure those myself.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app did not work well for me. I drafted posts to be prepared to post live at events and the app crashed multiple times, so I had to go to each social media platform and post individually. The problems could have been due to my older model iPhone though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite is a great social media management tool. It makes managing, monitoring, and analyzing social media accounts a lot easier and more efficient.
Hootsuite is the ultimate manager.
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite allows you to manage several channels, feeds, social pages and more. You can schedule, post, and edit seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot post to Instagram in advance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brand awareness and reach campaigns.
A very good piece of software for social media posting, listening and scheduling
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is the new feature of being able to post direct to instagram. This means that I can now easily post to three channels that I use mostly from one piece of software rather than two.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting can be quite expensive and there is a bit of a jump in the pricing between the different offerings
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time - one post goes to three platforms. Scheduling posts - not having to be at the computer to post at a preferred time. Saving Drafts to use as evergreen content or modify per platform. Being able to listen in socially on what people are talking about my customers products
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend taking the free trial and getting as much out of the amazing support, videos and tutorials as possible before you decide to buy. This will leave you completely informed on what the product can do and you won't go away assuming it does something it doesn't. I have recently switched back to using Hootsuite from MeetEdgar - although this is also software that I love, it did not provide the level of support for Instagram that Hootsuite now offers, not does it allow me to be trained and become certified at hootsuite academy which is a real bonus for employees and professionals alike.
Hootsuite is great for social monitoring.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organize lists side-by-side.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting can be a challenge and get convoluted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social listening.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great place to start for social media listening and management.
Effective but Overwhelming
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Hootsuite is that you can schedule postings in advance - up to 30 for the free version (across all platforms), but more if you pay for premium. This means that if you're in charge of social media for work you can do an entire week's worth in one day, or even take care of it in advance of being out of the office.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Hootsuite's platform overwhelming. I don't like the amount of information displayed on the dashboard and have had to reorganize several times to get it to a functional layout. It could be helpful if you never access your social media accounts through the actual accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) but if you regularly check those specific platforms, Hootsuite is redundant. I also don't like how the integration with Instagram works. It requires extra steps that limit the available convenience of scheduled postings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I only work part-time for my organization and am responsible for our social media even when I'm on vacation. So I love that I can schedule a week's worth of social media posts in advance, then not worry about my job while I'm out of the office.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have many social media channels Hootsuite is great because it can limit your need to log in to each specific channel regularly. However, if you only use one or two, it may be redundant and unnecessary - especially with Facebook's scheduling feature.
a little disorganized
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite does a great job of allowing us to organize all our social media accounts to post easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a little disorganized - looks cluttered. Also can't schedule posts for Instagram, you have to manually hit the button to post
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workload is lighter because I don't have to go into each outlet to post the same post.
