Hootsuite is easy and affordable scheduling and management for multiple social media profiles
What do you like best about the product?
Its affordable and relatively easy to figure out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It no longer allows unlimited posts for the free account (only 30 scheduled items at one time.) However, for $19 a month you can get unlimited posts for 10 profiles. BUT, what is not clear up front, to get that deal you must pay all at once ($228). Its considered an annual cost. Otherwise, to actually pay monthly is $29 per month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves me a considerable amount of time by allowing me to pre-schedule posts on more than one of our business social media profiles. The dashboard also helps me track who mentions my business, interacts with my posts, and allows me to engage with / expand my audience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be Patient while learning the product. It may look overwhelming at first, but watch the tutorial videos and take some time to click around. It is easy to figure out and use after just a little while.
The Best Resource for a Free Social Media Manager
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is fantastic if you have more than 2 social media accounts to manage. You can schedule posts ahead of time to save time and their convenient layout allows you to stay on top of posts and even customer responses/questions through social media. They've, recently, increased the number of posts you can have scheduled to 30 for free accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating posts for different platforms can be difficult sometimes. There should be a way to create similar posts but with different word counts, such as for Facebook & Twitter. Our FB posts have to accommodate Twitter's 140 character limit. Each social media platform is unique and targets a slightly different audience. While twitter is known for their concise text or image based posts, Facebook posts can be used to elaborate on a topic with a much larger word count. Also, the limit of posts for a free account is a little troublesome. Hootsuite counts each post for every platform so say for Facebook and Twitter. The same post of two platforms is still 2 posts, but having them count as one post (to increase the number of posts that can be scheduled at one time) would be nice. Currently, I can only schedule about two weeks ahead, but perhaps that's why they have a upgradeable plans.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are saving time and becoming more streamlined. Hootsuite enables us to plan a month ahead if need be . We can save as many 'drafts' as we like even if we can only 'schedule' 30 posts at a time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give Hootsuite a try for all your social media management needs. They're free version is more than enough for basic implementation. I can't comment on their 'paid' plans as we haven't tried them yet.

It takes a bit to figure out but other than that it's great.

Robust Features, Good Layout, Missing the Suggestions
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can schedule and manage all my clients' social networks through Hootsuite, and that I can program in RSS feeds to post automatically. This helps for clients with lower budgets who need regular content and have trustworthy news sources that can automatically post from.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hootsuite used to have a suggestion feature, which I really loved, which is no longer there in the desktop version. I also don't love how teams are done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time on social media, automating, sharing scheduled posts with other team members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One issue that Hootsuite has, that I believe only one scheduling tool has conquered, is that you still have to manually publish Instagram posts even after scheduling them. This is tricky for clients who need to have something up early in the morning, as I don't want to wake up at 5am PST just to make sure I'm publishing by 8am EST. I hope Instagram makes scheduling possible, especially since so many businesses now use it.
Somewhat Cumbersome at Times But Serves Its Purpose
What do you like best about the product?
It is extremely easy to keep track of scheduled and sent content in Hootsuite, and I still like having the ability to easily set up different tabs and streams to keep track of different accounts. Their reports are also very impressive. I have taken advantage of Hootsuite Academy's Social Marketing Certification, as well, which I have found to be very useful professionally and educationally.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hootsuite has yet to add the bells and whistles that other similar platforms, such as Sendible and even Buffer, have to offer, such as an extremely modern and attractive interface and user-friendly layout. It seems that the people at Hootsuite haven't updated with social media. The owl.y feature is also still clunky, as is the scheduling feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite is especially helpful for smaller agencies or small businesses and organizations to manage their social media marketing efforts and strategies, at least in my opinion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hootsuite is a useful tool for small organizations/businesses and small agencies, but I don't recommend it for larger companies or agencies, as its capabilities haven't caught up with the time enough to be useful for large volumes of content or juggling multiple complex clients.

I like that I can schedule my posts and see what times are best for my content.

The interface is clumsy and antiquated; it could use a major facelift.

Great for small businesses
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to queue posts to various social media channels - saves a lot of time. Easy to use interface, very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish more platforms were available with the lower paying levels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining posting to social media for fast-growing small business, which allows me to focus on other, less tedious (and ultimately business building and revenue generating) activities.

If using the free or lower paid plans, make sure all the platforms you need/would like to post to are available.
Solid SMM platform.

Great features and functionality for a reasonable price.

Monitoring and listening leave a lot to be desired compared to other platforms.

We use the Enterprise account in the agency and it's a very powerful tool, that we used for scheduling and reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it jumps some publication on Twitter, also is not update to the recent versions of Twitter (no 280 character) or Instagram (no Album)
