Good

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is a bit confusing at first, but with the help of the on screen guides i quickly learned the basics of the website and how to efficiently work with Hootsuite. The app is perfect for when I am away from my office and not near any computer. Mobile friendly is the way of the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
Again as i mentioned before, the interface was confusing at first but then over time I was able to adapt and navigate the site and the app with little to no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small company, thus we needed a way to spread our brand. We already had a small following on Facebook but we wanted to spread further. We added Instagram and Twitter soon there after but realized that managing all three platforms required more time than we could give. Hootsuite allowed us to expand out brand and post on multiple platforms without costing us too much time in doing so.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read the walk-throughs carefully and make sure that when they update their system that your platforms are still valid and usable..

Quick and efficient social media helper

What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a great system to use for social media management. It works with several different platforms, organizes them well and also does accurate character counts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not automatically post to instagram. It also creates URL preview images that screw up a post with the preview
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media management. It's great to set up posts one time a month and not have to worry about it from there on.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the scheduling feature, everything is already embedded and all I need to do is copy and past a link.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't always remember my social media logins
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not having any issues with it... I love that it makes it so easy to post tweets in a timely manner and it is not hard to use for anyone. Extremely user friendly.

Great social media managing tool

What do you like best about the product?
- It's hard to keep up with social media nowadays, especially if you post a lot for a client (or for yourself) on all different platforms. With Hootsuite you can schedule posts ahead of time
- Easy to use dashboard with all of your social media accounts connected. You can choose to post on 1, 2, or on all of them. You can also choose images, videos and links.
- You can improve your productivity with Hootsuite which leaves you with time to do other important things
- Ability to send private messages to certain social media users on different accounts
- FREE for the basic account. The premium account is $19 a month for the basic account for 10 profiles. You can try out premium FREE for a month.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Old look and feel of the website. It needs to be updated to a more modern look. It's outdated and it gets boring to look at.
- Some reports cost extra, around $50
- Expensive for bigger teams
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have issues posting with Instagram through Hootsuite. To do so, you have to download the Hootsuite app on your phone and then post to Instagram through the app. It's complicated and I wish we could do so from a desktop browser.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you're aware of the basic and premium account differences before you sign up. With a free account, you can only manage up to 3 social media profiles. If you manage more than 3 profiles, you may need the premium account. Consider your options.

Hootsuite Social Media

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to schedule in advance across all platforms, and switch easily between platforms for moderation purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The site is very, very buggy. It often lags behind in supporting various features of the ever-changing social media platforms. It often fails to load preview images, and is often down for maintenance. Also, the analytics are useless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite saves my department from constantly having to login and logout of the dozens of social media profiles we manage. Twitter won't schedule posts natively, so Hootsuite is the only solution to do this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look around before buying. This system is buggy and has a few small aspects that hinder fast and effective use.

Waking the sleeping Owl

What do you like best about the product?
I like the dashboard on Hootsuite. Essentially, it's easy to navigate without a ton of instructions, turnkey if you will. Drag, drop and go.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the failed schedules and the method for which you upload bulk messages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the redundancy challenge in my business. When I don't keep track of what I've posted I can always go back to Hootsuite and review. Additionally, I'm solving the research challenge where social media is regarded. I can get recommendations and even pop something into view from PromoRepublic now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As usual, understand what you expect the software to actually do and prioritize the observation of how well it's working. Know that sometimes when messages fail, they are just failed. Expect to go back in and repost.

Marketing Communications Specialist

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that I was able to have multiple streams for social listening on Twitter, that I was able to schedule out content and that I was able to upload excel files for schedules.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not like that Twitter was the only platform for social listening. I know most tools are like this but there are mentions on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and it would be great if one tool could pull streams for all of the platforms especially once Facebook changed their platform. You ever see what is going on with the pages your company follows. Any tool to do that for you is expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To a certain point. When we were trying to find a tool for social advocacy and content curation, I went to Hootsuite first but their advocacy minimum was really high. It wad unfortunate because it was a tool our team already knew.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure it can do everything you want before you take the time to set anything up. Also, it is a great beginners tool. If you are just starting social media management, the free tool can help you get your feet wet.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Support help is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certifications are expensive, some trainings are hard to follow because there isn't a transcript
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to maintain our social media presence even if someone is out of town.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can assign one design to multiple social media sites at one time - facebook, google + and twitter.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I post multiple social sites I have to go to each site post individually to make a change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I save time by being able to schedule social media posts in advance. I benefit by freeing up my time to do other things

Have all your social media in one place

  • August 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to manage our social media accounts from one location. The dashboard allows you to view interactions from each site in an easily accessible format. I've set our twitter pages up so I can view our posts, interactions, retweets, feed and scheduled posts all on one page. Being able to schedule posts has made a huge difference to our time and scheduling, we no longer have to remember to go and post things but can set posts up across the week. Equally, if someone is on holiday they can plan posts whilst they're away so social media doesn't suffer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard looks dated and clunky. We currently use the free version and there is limited reporting available. However, as a free tool that's not too much of an issue. The LinkedIn connection times out periodically which is frustrating but I suspect that is down to LinkedIn's security and it is easy to fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time saving when managing social media. Managing the streams from one place means nothing gets forgotten about.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The free version has a wide variety of functions so very useful for testing if you're considering purchasing the full version. Scheduling posts is a very useful feature.
