More power than necessary for a small organization
What do you like best about the product?
It is handy if staff have to be away or traveling for several days in advance, or for advocacy days etc. In general, since our operation is quite small, we have found that we have not been using Hootsuite as much as we thought. It's great software, but we just don't need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to schedule posts super far in advance when you're trying to keep your page's narrative fresh and up to date with what's going on in a fast-changing field/policy environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If we're all away at a conference or on vacation, it's super easy to plan ahead and coordinate across multiple accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how much you post, how many accounts you have, and how often you actually need to schedule posts in advance - it's handy, but not always needed.
Helpful Social tool
What do you like best about the product?
Being about to schedule all our social media posts in one place and using the email functions

The software is very useful and not expensive so no complaints

Getting a better handle on frequent social posting and tracking

It is easy to get started and there is a free version to see if you like it.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to see all of my platforms for ALL of my clients in once place. I never miss a beat!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the way I edit Meta data for Facebook posts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Hootsuite to manage social media for over 100 clients and we love how we can collaborate and support one another.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely more user friendly than Sprout!
Great for usage with Twitter!
What do you like best about the product?
Typically use it to schedule Tweets for our business account. Very helpful since they don't have that option.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to share images, except as links.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Twitter doesn't allow you to schedule tweets so Hootsuite alleviates that.

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple and easy to use. Great to set up post and forget them

You can set up posts emails alerts etc and schedule them to go out whenever
Basic for Necessities
What do you like best about the product?
It does what I need it to- allows me to schedule out any posts that I need for the future, also provides some analytical. It's efficient, easy to use, and very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations- only certain times might be used (I'd like it to be more flexible than every hour or quarter of the hour). Also the analytic reports vary from what I find on the analytics from the social media pages so I need to compare them and work between those.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We realized it's very useful for tracking and planning our social media, which we've really needed the help with- Hootsuite has saved us time and effort. There are limitations so we can only do the simple things, and our analytic options are limited as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's pretty easy to use so just test it out! If you're just starting out, it's good to begin with and go from there!
Easy Program to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to understand and use. Very user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Doesn't allow for all popular social media sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to schedule all content in one program.
Small nonprofit user, free version
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to track all of our social media timelines in one spot, without having multiple tabs open. If I want to retweet something or if something I see makes me want to post, I can always open a tab for that media platform to post more directly. I also love the ability to schedule posts so there aren't awkward gaps in our nonprofits posting timeline. As only one person managing all of our social media, it gives me some flexible to still have posts scheduled for while I'm on vacation or during the weekends. I also really enjoy the link compressor built into Hootsuite's posting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Hootsuite platform posting mechanisms would resemble each media's type of posting a bit more. I am still hesitant to post something directly from Hootsuite because it is more comfortable to post directly from that platform. The multiple tabs with multiple streams in each can be a bit clumsy. I wish that there was a way to minimize the streams you weren't using at the moment instead of switching tabs all the time, because sometimes I want all Facebook streams or all Twitter streams but sometimes I want all media platforms basic timelines together. It feels a bit awkward to switch from tab to tab to achieve that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of having one person managing all of a nonprofit's social media. Social media platforms frequently integrate and post for each other but we wanted a way to check and make sure that was happening, and moniter all streams at once.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend that you have one user, otherwise I could see it getting pretty confusing pretty fast and you might have some double posts.
Limited Capabilities for Marketers
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the social media scheduling component. We use Hootsuite primarily for Twitter scheduling.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it's not possible to preview a post before scheduling. I also don't like there is no functionality with Instagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to schedule content so we're able to plan ahead for our clients.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that there are ways for you to schedule content for multiple platforms. It is also very easy to see everything in one place. The best part is probably that you can customize your dashboard to be exactly what you want it to be.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is sometimes a lag when more than 1 person is using it. It is hard to determine whether things are actually being saved or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us to schedule content far in advance and see what we have scheduled on multiple different platforms. It has helped us especially because at one point we had multiple people scheduling content.
