Helpful, cheap way for a small team to share content creation and scheduling responsibilities
What do you like best about the product?
I can schedule out content in the free version.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ow.ly situation is annoying- I can't track using ow.ly, I prefer to use bit.ly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it when I need to schedule out content and share content creation responsibilities with other members of my team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a cheap option so you get what you pay for.
Makes social media easy
What do you like best about the product?
Makes it easy to manage multiple social media accounts and to see engagement.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike, I think this a great product that is designed to make the use of social media easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Hootsuite to manage a business' floundering social media accounts. It made it easy to see where they were going wrong.
Great tool - Invest in the Premium Account
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Hootsuite makes managing multiple social media accounts. The desktop dashboard is very intuitive and the scheduling features are a huge help. You can also customize the "streams" for each social account and it creates a visual way to monitor and respond to user interactions. The built-in link shortener is a lifesaver. I know many friends who've complained about the Hootsuite mobile app, but I actually like it and find it very easy to use (I have the Android version). The free version of Hootsuite only let's you link 4-5 social media accounts, so if you're a serious social media manager and you manage a lot of accounts, it is 100% worth it to invest in a premium, paid account to keep everything in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have many complaints about the desktop/web version of the program. That's definitely my preferred mode of using the platform. If you schedule Instagram posts through Hootsuite, you MUST have the mobile app. When a post is scheduled, a notification will pop up on your mobile and you have to manually push the post through the Instagram app. Depending on how time sensitive the post is, if you're not on top of that notification, it could sit there for awhile waiting for you to post it. I'm the kind of person who likes to have a little more separation between my work and personal social content (which is admittedly hard when you manage multiple channels and then have your own), so sometimes I'd get frustrated having to push Instagram posts through when I was "off the clock," but it's not a difficult process by any means. Just minority irritating if I forget to publish the post.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The organization I worked for produced original content and Hootsuite was really helpful for making sure the content was posted during optimal web traffic times, coinciding with important holidays or current events, etc. It made my job, and my team's work flow, a lot easier to manage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to do your research on social media management software before diving in. If you have 5+ accounts you manage, it's worth it to invest in a premium account. It think Hoostuite makes it easy to navigate a lot of accounts in one place. If you only manage 1-3 accounts, it's still a solid product, but make sure it's what you need in a management software. I've used TweetDeck and a couple of other lesser known programs, and Hootsuite feel most intuitive for what my work and personal social media needs are.
Save Time and Stay Organized
What do you like best about the product?
A great tool to quickly schedule and manage social media posts while staying organized. Convenient features and generally easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times some options may be a bit unclear or confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time required to send out messages across multiple platforms. Multiple messages can be scheduled, and messages can be posted across all linked social media accounts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pay close attention when scheduling times for posts to make sure they are correct.

What do you dislike about the product?
Perhaps the price, but I really don't have any issues!

Hootsuite
What do you like best about the product?
Enhance your social media management with dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many customizations and sometimes confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all my social media in one place
Buffer is better
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the updated graphics and the somewhat user-friendly status of the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was too complicated. I just needed a quick scheduling tool and Buffer was better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite allowed me to schedule posts across most of our platforms (notable exception being Instagram which Buffer can't do well either).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buffer really is better...for now. I think Hootsuite has the potential to beat Buffer but Buffer is just so simple, straightforward, and uncomplicated.
Ease of use with an effective interface
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can manage pages I administer as well as accounts, track keywords, and schedule posts, all from one centralized dashboard. The column layout makes it very easy to track where my engagement is, and to cross-reference posts and followers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I signed up when it was a free service, and felt it was very valuable. However, as the price has increased, I looked for less expensive alternatives for social media management. Also, as you add columns, the interface can appear cluttered, but I consider this a hazard of adding too many things to a dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had multiple job functions I needed to perform every day, and social media was only one of them - I was not a full-time social media manager or team member. That being the case, Hootsuite allowed me to deliver the quality of work I expected of myself, while being able to effectively manage my time to complete all the other job functions I had in a given day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Evaluate what you want from the program before ruling out alternative, free, options. If you need a simple tool that will allow you to schedule posts across multiple platforms, Hootsuite may be overpowered for you. But if you need analytics and manage multiple pages and individual accounts, Hootsuite is definitely worth considering.
