Works great for small businesses but can be a pain with a lot of accounts
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is nice and easy to use. It manages all the popular social networks. Really great for monitoring multiple channels
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't use the same image/link for multiple networks unless you want the exact same text. Reports can be inaccurate, very little Google+ support
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes monitoring multiple channels easy and quick

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a smaller business or handling less than 20 accounts, it's a great product.
Solid Social Media Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is a great tool for beginners to social media management esp. given that there is a free option, which isn't always available with these type of management platforms. It allows you to schedule far in advance, which is helpful. Perfect tool for companies or freelancers managing multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be glitchy and rarely posts do not appear or the images are distorted. The analytic features also don't always provide the most accurate snapshot of your social media pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way to manage many sub-brand pages in an efficient way as well as keep up with what type of content was working well and what could be improved. It was helpful for us in scheduling posts in advance and performing other overall management tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solid platform to schedule advance posts and track your posts esp. if you are managing more than just a new social pages. You will just have to accept the limitations especially of the free version.
Hootsuite
What do you like best about the product?
It's ability to post to Facebook easily
What do you dislike about the product?
It's inability to post to Instagram easily. I wish it automatically posted like Facebook
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes scheduling posts much easier, organized and efficient
USeful for Planning Ahead
What do you like best about the product?
Manage all social media networks in one place. Schedule posts ahead of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Accuracy of "social ROI" and real time analytics. Need more info on how this is calculated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting in at all times of the day and managing social networks more efficiently.
Easy to learn, quick to teach
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of Hootsuite is its scheduling feature (especially to Instagram) coupled with monitoring in one platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system could be buggy - not letting you continue a tweet without selecting a username from a dropdown menu on tagging, adding extra characters to tweets, etc. It also has a smaller video file max than Twitter itself, so I would sometimes need to go to Twitter to post multimedia posts. The feature allowing you to add tweets to the queue is valuable but re-scheduling tweets already added can be a very tedious process that could be solved by allowing a user to drag and drop tweets within a calendar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in a fast-paced industry I often need to schedule posts days or weeks in advance, which Hootsuite allows me to do. It's an added benefit that I can also do my social media monitoring within the system, allowing an all-in-one experience.
Has potential, but isn't extremely efficient
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can schedule multiple channels at once. I also like the "automatic scheduler" which will post at the busiest time for the requested page. I also like that using Hootsuite means I have a record of all my posts in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it feels like using Hootsuite sometimes takes longer than just posting. I can't always post the same content to the same channels; my Facebook posts have more content than my posts to Twitter since I am limited on characters. This means I still often end up creating more than one post, which I could just do on the actual social media account. I also don't like that I can't preview the post the way I do on Facebook. I find the main page confusing and overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to track my social media posting frequency, which is nice. I would say that tracking and scheduling for when I am out of the office are the best features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say that others should be aware that this product will help them track their social media and posting frequency. It might best best for someone who only handles social media. The main page has multiple feeds, options, etc. which are overwhelming. I do social media as one part of my job, so I don't have time on a daily basis to look through those feeds, etc. I don't find Hootsuite to be very user-friendly or modern, but it does solve a problem and fill a gap. Please note, I work in public higher ed with a very small budget, and I am the only social media manager in my department, so I use the free version of this product.
Hootsuite - Great for beginners and professionals
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use, what that means is being able to switch easily between networks and campaigns, and as an independent contractor the professional version was affordable and had most of the features I required to manage my clients' social media. Hootlet is also a great feature allowing me to post or schedule a post directly from the website or article I'm on to the appropriate network. The dashboard is likewise easy to use and navigate for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Hootlet doesn't work the way it's supposed to. Also, when doing a bulk upload, it would be nice to have Hootsuite scrub for images from the articles to post them directly into the tweets. The professional version of analytics isn't as robust as I need, I'm sure the Team and Business versions are much better. Many of the apps that I needed never really worked properly, and were subsequently discontinued.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a contractor with many clients, I was solving the issue of running multiple campaigns, keeping them organized and using my time efficiently to ensure that content was shared on time. The additional benefits i realized were the bulk upload function, the ability to use keywords to create a stream, and the ease of communicating with communities.
Easy to manage multiple social media accounts
What do you like best about the product?
I used Hootsuite when I was in charge of 3 FB Pages and 5 twitter pages for one company. It made it easy for me to make sure that we were posting items ever so often and not having to remermber to post things manually when we had busy days.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost was higher than I would like and it was not easy to set up a new account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time saving. I could create all the social media posts for the week ahead of time and schedule for them to post and make edits up until the posts went live. Plus I could easily see how much traffic each post was getting.
Hootsuite: Best for Small Businesses
What do you like best about the product?
If your social media marketing efforts are on the limited side, meaning 2-3 platforms and only 4-5 sources, Hootsuite is the ideal software for you to plan posts in advance. They provide analytics as well, depending on your budgetary needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
They don't offer planning for some social media businesses such as Pinterest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning has improved. Benefits are the planning process is simple.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for small businesses
Streamline Your Time
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can plan all my posts for the week for multiple clients which frees up my time to tackle other projects. Because I can schedule my posts, I've been able to more easily manage my clients that are international because I can schedule posts for different time zones instead of having to set up alarms for myself to wake up and post things manually.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can't automate the Instagram posts. They've been making improvements over time, but using the phone app, you still have to manually post the image and content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to post more regularly and track what time of day gets the most views. There is also a great feature in Hootsuite that allows you to let Hootsuite determine when is the best time to make posts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how many platforms you plan on using for Hootsuite. Currently, you can post on up to three platforms for free. If you want to use more, you'll have to pay, but it's worth it!
