Makes scheduling easy

  • April 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that all my social platforms are in one place, although I use it mostly for Twitter. But I like how easy it is to see and track both my activity and engagement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you can't schedule retweets. I currently use Buffer for this but would prefer to have it all in one place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm trying to increase awareness and engagement of our brand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Hootsuite because it makes it easy to plan ahead and monitor engagement.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to preschedule social media posts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not compatible with Instagram in the same way as it is with Facebook. Not as user friendly for Instagram users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been solving the problem of not being consistent in media presence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please create it to be more Instagram friendly.

Fantastic for automation and creating a content calendar for business small business owners

  • April 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That you can link multiple accounts and it keeps track of your character count for each. It is a wonderful tool for automation and I recommend for small business owners who have to do their own marketing use it as a content calendar base for them.

I also adore the Hootlet they just released.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have also used buffer and I like that buffer allows more segmentation of the channels so you can post all at once, but personalize each message for the channel it is going to go out with. I would love for this to be integrated into Hootsuite as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with small business owners who do not have the ability to hire someone to do their marketing and also don't want to feel like they have to sit on Facebook all day to get their marketing done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it as a tool for automation and content creation, but remember that you need to also have spontaneous posts and you need your content to look native for each channel is goes out to. If your marketing strategy is just to post the same content and verbiage across all channels, your marketing will not be optimized for each channel and you will look lazy.

Hootsuite: Pros & Cons to a Social Media Mgmt. Platform

  • April 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At first, Hootsuite truly wooed me with it's functionality and software interface. I love the Scheduled posts area of the platform with it's day/week/month views that make it extremely easy to manage social media posting on a day-to-day or monthly basis with one click. I like that linking accounts to Hootsuite is easy and posting the same content among multiple social media accounts - as some of my clients have multiple location pages - is also easy as 1-2-3 clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some reason, and this may only be me, but any time I create a post on Hootsuite - it automatically sets it to post to my first client listed automatically. This means I'm having to double and triple check every post that I create to confirm that it isn't going to post to the wrong accounts because of this odd feature that I can't seem to disable. I also try to schedule all my posts to go out at the same time as it makes it easier for me to check them in one wave, but if a post falls through the cracks - I can't schedule it within 5 minutes of posting. Gets a little frustrating, but that's also somewhat of a flaw in my management skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving quite a few problems - mostly time management. Hootsuite saves me hours upon hours of posting individually to over 10 clients' Facebooks because of the platform. It's a great time saver despite it's minor flaws.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One thing that has made Hootsuite management easier for me is ensuring each client I load into Hootsuite has an obvious logo that is not broken. This makes easy management more possible because you can identify clients by logos instead of hovering over their logos to see the comapny name.

Hootsuite is saving my life

  • April 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used to have to time my social media posts to go out at specific times each day but now with Hootsuite I can write a bunch of posts at once and then set them to post throughout the week. SUCH a time saver!
What do you dislike about the product?
You can only set posts to go out automatically for a few pages. If you're like me and have multiple pages that you manage, switching back and forth can be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to waste so much time and energy timing posts and thinking of new content on the spot. Now I can do it all at once and then parcel it out!

Easy to use, almost does it for me

  • April 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's interface works on my mobile device, my chromebook, and my pc seamlessly. I like the app especially because I am always on the go. I am a mom, a nurse, and an entrepreneur, so it is important for me to have access 24/7.
What do you dislike about the product?
I actually cannot think of anything I don't like. Again, it is so easy to use and does exactly what I want it to do, I don't have to think about it. I like that it can give the update across all the social networks I like to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to gain clients to use as part of my writing content as well as coaching clients. The writing clients usually need content related ot the healthcare niche or patient education. The coaching clients I have are trying to start their own freelance business and need guidance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
before you sign up make sure you have time to learn the platform. Though it is easy to use, you need to learn it.

What do you like best about the product?
Love that I can manage everything in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be more user friendly and easier to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have to go into each individual social media account, instead it is all in one place. This allows me to have consistency in posting on each of the various social media sites we use.

Hootsuite is a mostly helpful free service that makes social media management way easier.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I work at a nonprofit so I like that the free features cover everything I need to manage social media for my company in the office and on my phone when I'm traveling. I like that the instagram publishing automatically saves images and copies the text I write, even if I'd rather it just publish without my help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile notifications to post something on Instagram are really easy to miss. Ideally though it would automatically publish to Instagram. The mobile previews of posts that have been scheduled are usually grainy and low quality. Sometimes that makes it hard to know exactly what I have coming up. It's also common for the accounts to "unlink" themselves which is a real hassle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have one place that I can use to keep track of all of our social media and it makes sharing the social media workload a lot easier. It's saved a ton of my time for sure. When we have an intern it makes it easy for me to hand off some of the social media responsibility to them but also track what they have scheduled and edit if necessary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say it's extremely useful as well as affordable so it's great for non-profits. It has its drawbacks with Instagram publishing, but I don't think it's a problem anyone else has solved better. They make instagram posting as easy as instagram will currently allow it to be.

Considering it's the industry leader, it feels like last place.

What do you like best about the product?
The blog has tons of great and helpful tips. They hire amazing content writers and really put a lot into their help section, and the webinars and Twitter chats are great. The free account lets you have three social platforms unlike Buffer, which only gives you one. Overall, it seems like the team is fantastic, but it doesn't extend to their product.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's glitchy! I have had so many issues adding new accounts, needing to refresh frequently when posting a lot of content, adding users and managing teams, and when posting in the field on the app. I can't tell you how many times I've "scheduled" an Instagram post with a dozen hashtags only to lose all of the content when it comes time to post it. And worse, there's no notification of the failure. Their Chrome extension is also frustrating and lacks customization options. When my contract is over I'm switching to Buffer because it's much more seamless. They are "adding" "features" but removing others. The content suggestions I relied upon for a long time are gone. I have the Pro version and you get absolutely nothing in the way of analytics or reporting without paying for ALL of it. The UI is really bad. Hootsuite has been around for a long time, they really could clean up and polish the UI. Their menus don't make a ton of sense and it's difficult to find basic things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for two companies and help do social media for local events, so being able to post to multiple platforms simultaneously and schedule in advance is essential. But Hootsuite isn't the only game in town. The biggest benefit, the content suggestions, was taken away, leaving this platform useless for me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would check Buffer and some competitors and see what you need. Or do a trial and make sure the glitches don't interfere too much with what you need to do. It might be that it works okay for you, but it isn't for me.
