Great For Multi-Taskers & Consultants
What do you like best about the product?
I deal with a great number of clients who prefer a one and done approach whenever possible. Posts can be scheduled by a mobile device or via desktop which is great for companies that have less than 10 employees. You know the setup, everyone is already wearing three hats and the frequent question is "Is it my turn to post something this week?".
I like that with HootSuite, all areas of social are updated on a consistent basis, and customer reach can be monitored post-by-post. I like that I can target customers by location and basic demographics saving me the time of digging through Twitter and Facebook to tediously do the same thing multiple times. And knowing that posts will appear at the times I need them to appear is great for filling in gaps where a team is unable to interact with trending conversations.
HootSuite is also a great introductory tool for small businesses who have had little to no social presence. Being able to visually see the connection between consistent social posting and increased site visitors is great for establishing healthy social habits.

What do you dislike about the product?
When scheduling posts via the HootSuite app on my iPad Pro (2016 model) I found that there were issues with screen rotation and buttons/tools disappearing due to the inability to fit everything in one clean screen space as I'm able to do via desktop. This is a minor concern. I just have to remember to remain in horizontal mode opposed to vertical when operating HootSuite on my iPad.
I found that when setting up Instagram, the back and forth can turn clients off from the idea of automating posts. The verification process seems to have a small hiccup between HootSuite and client profiles. I don't mind taking the time to knock out the phone verification, but it does make some of my clients a bit antsy.
I've also had issues with the app freezing on occasion. It's nothing that a full exit and restart of the app can't fix. I tend to have apps like Gmail, Instagram (personal), and ten dozen other things running at the same time. I'm definitely a power user!

As a consultant, I'm addressing customers who have either a) never addressed a need for social presence. These are typically mom and pop shop who finally break when they hear that a neighboring business is seeing a rush of results from tools like flash sales or coupon codes only found on Twitter. The other end of the spectrum represents b) customers who have a social presence, however, it's extremely fragmented or inconsistent.
One benefit I've immediately found is that Hootsuite causes my clients to recognize that some posts receive actionable results on one social outlet versus another. There also emerges a need to communicate the same message about a promotion or special several different ways (video, vs gif, vs text). This could mean a social square for Instagram and Twitter, or a full-on customer business announcement on Facebook all bearing the same message but getting the most reach from the intended audience.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. Don't let the price make or break your experience. Go with the lite version, see if processes are starting to benefit. Once everyone starts to feel as though there is some solid weight to the product, then I would suggest going all in and paying for power user level services!
2. If consulting, be patient with clients. Getting through the setup can take about a day or so if passwords and emails are all over the place. If your client at least has those items in order, you'll be good to go in no time.
3. Recognize that social takes valuable time from a day. I try to stick to Hootesuite for "filler" curated content, promotions, and internal messages. Anything extra such as monitoring trending conversations and hashtags should be done by a human on a daily, if not, weekly basis if at all possible.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the issue of timely responsiveness with clients. I also only have to log into one place to access all my social media accounts.

Simplifies my daily work
What do you like best about the product?
It's really organized my information collection daily routine, and allows me to stay more consistent and scheduled in the delivery of my social media messaging.

Terrific, yet frustrating.
What do you like best about the product?
Analytics feeds, bulk messaging, and posting across multiple accounts at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of direct posting to Instagram is almost a deal breaker. One has to use other software, such as grum.com, to fully implement scheduling posts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of multiple social media accounts is easier with Hootsuite. Prior to using it, mentions and tags on Twitter and Instagram would sometimes go unnoticed, resulting in less interaction with our followers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have a way another way of scheduling posts to Instagram, such as grum.co
Social Media Content Streamlined
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can login to one place and manage all my social media content across the different social media platforms. It's not just a tool for posting and sharing, it allows you to monitor mentions and other engagement across the different networks so you can stay on top of it more easily. This helps with brand monitoring and makes for some excellent customer/client engagement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hootsuite is awesome, but I would love to see a few more platforms added. I would also like to see some more in depth insight analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps us save a ton of time. instead of using personnel bandwidth to post our messages across the different networks we can sit down and schedule it all out. The process is now automated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to streamline your social media strategy, I highly recommend you look into Hootsuite. It has really helped us take the busy work out of the social media portion of our marketing implementations. It may take a few days to set up a plan and organize how you want your automation to be set up, but it's completely worth it. Also i recommend trying to understand your audience and times of days that they engage with your social networks. This will help ensure you are scheduling automated posts that will be effective.
Great Product for Basic Social Media -- And get a little learning!
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is easy to learn, and easy to implement, and easy to control what gets posted!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more features available in their "Pro" mid-tier of accounts. I'm in a small department, so we don't need a Team of accounts. But it would be nice to get some of the reporting and numbers stuff that's available!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for a school district, and we are trying to get information out quickly to parents, students, and the community where they operate. It's much easier to co-ordinate from one place on Hootsuite. It's also wonderful to give our stakeholders real data they can use about what posts work and what doesn't.
Hootsuite
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can schedule social media postings all in one place, to be posted at later times. This allows me to do all the upcoming posts at one time, for Facebook, Twitter, and other social media that my business uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike, the service suits my needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving time efficiency. I don't have to go in and do each social media posting over and over, or a little each day. I can do all of it in one place at one time, and that leaves me with more time for other work.
