Great for small businesses and mutliple brands
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of scheduling content, and good cross-channel analytics too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Content Suggestions are often lacking, and cannot select different topics for different accounts - topics have to be global and often not suitable for certain accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management and planning of social media content.
Comprehensive Interface
What do you like best about the product?
The interface for Hootsuite is very comprehensive and made branding for my company across our social media sites stress free. I also liked the analytics and personalized content suggestions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working for a start up, I found the pricing to be a bit high and wished they had offered a more feasible cost schematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Branding across all social platforms and understanding analytics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with the free trial before choosing a package so that you can be sure you are utilizing all of the features it offers and are not paying for something you are not using. I would also suggest familiarizing yourself with your audience and being prepared with various content types to figure out what your audience appreciates more.
Seamless Social Media Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can link several user accounts into one easily scheduled format. They also have great content suggestions. The ease of posting to multiple sources without having to log into a lot of different websites is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
The calendar can be a little difficult to work with at times, trying to change an aspect of a scheduled post sometimes means going into several versions of this post.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This keeps all our employees connected and active with precise scheduled posts. Some people, older employees, don't necessarily see the value in keeping an active presence on social media. With HootSuite, I am able to make sure they have a steady stream of content, keeping them relevant in the eyes of colleagues and potential clients. HootSuite's ease of scheduling makes it easy for me to get the word out on different campaigns my office launches to promote webinars and events. While not promoting an event, using the "suggested content" section assists me in posting articles and information when there is not anything else going on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hootsuite has videos and tutorials that can help you get started. I knew nothing about this program when I began and found that very helpful. They have also had great webinars with social media marketing gurus to help you fine-tine your voice if needed. A notable webinar from Mari Smith was especially informative and I now follow her on Facebook to keep up-to-date with her tips.
Everything you need for basic social publishing
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is super easy to use and the price is fantastic for the functionality you get. We used Social Studio and Radian 6 before, which were MUCH more expensive and had far more functionality than we needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support isn't great, and our onboarding sessions weren't very useful because they weren't tailored to our needs at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to publish social content across multiple time zones, as well as effectively monitor mentions of our brand and other topics of interest.
Social Media Management with Hootsuite
What do you like best about the product?
The streams features of Hootsuite allows me to easily toggle between roughly 20 accounts affiliated with my organization. This is particularly useful for staying on top of Twitter mentions, scheduling weekend and off hour posts. The mentions stream is also very useful for doing retweets on twitter and Hootsuite has recently improved their internal retweets feature. I previously would do retweets manually outside the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I really dislike about the platform. I do find it more useful for Twitter than LinkedIn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving response time to members and increasing the volume of content submitted by saving time on quickly getting relevant material out and online.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage a high number of social media accounts, particularly on Twitter, it is a great platform.
Automates Our Social Media Marketing
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite not only allows us to automate our social media output but it provides statistics so we know what's being consumed where.
What do you dislike about the product?
About the only thing I dislike about Hootsuite is it still doesn't interface with Instagram in a practical way. It SAYS it works with Instagram but it really doesn't --- certainly not as easily as it works with Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. But maybe it's more the fault of Instagram then Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the ability for small and medium-sized businesses to maintain a social media presence. The benefits are that I've been able to professionalize our social media marketing services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go with the pro level so you can add all the social media accounts you need.
For the Simple Socialite or Weekend Warrior Social Media Poster - This Will Do It All
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite makes it easy to add social profiles so there isn't any guesswork involved. While you can only add a certain number (I think 10) for free, that usually covers the main social profiles you might need (Facebook, Twitter, G+, Instagram, etc.). You don't need to know anything about computers or technology to quickly and easily understand how to use Hootsuite. You can write your posts in one sitting and schedule them out for months at a time. Links and images are easily integrated and don't require a lot of work or guesswork to get them added to posts. Hashtags are easily incorporated as well. Overall, it's easy to use, affordable or free, and I love using it for my personal social media posts as well as for my clients' social profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, it can be frustrating when you want to keep the free option, but need to add/remove social profiles. You have to delete your current profile and make sure that all upcoming posts are gone as well or you may encounter some weird error messages. But, overall, there aren't a lot of downsides to using Hootsuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used Hootsuite in order to schedule out posts on our editorial calendar. This allows you to make sure you have posts for every important day, holiday, birthday, etc. Additionally, you can schedule these posts out, but make them slightly different for each social profile so they aren't in duplicate. You can quickly and easily change up the images and make the posts unique.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you familiarize yourself with how Hootsuite works with other social profiles. For instance, in FB, Hootsuite might break up posts that you didn't expect to be broken up (especially if they have more than one image). There are workarounds for this, but you need to do a little research to figure them out so your FB profile doesn't look like a mess.
Product Review
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to set up post for the future allowing time allowed for Social Media marketing to decrease.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to post to instagram through hootsuite. Most of the posts that were done through hootesuite still had to be copied to Instagram and posted individually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing schedules are easier to mantian allowing more time for other projects.
Saves me SO much time with social media marketing
What do you like best about the product?
I can post my daily posts to all of my outlets with the push of one button instead of having to go to each one and post the same thing over and over.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't post to pinterest or to personal pages AS my business as far as I know. It could be that I haven't set it up properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TIME MANAGEMENT!!! Social media is a necessity and very time consuming if done properly. Anything that saves time is a huge asset.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
not sure yet...fairly new to using it
It's great for scheduling
What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to schedule out on here. I love that you can have multiple accounts on there and different channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think that the metrics are that great. I also don't find it to be the best software for more advanced social things like finding influencers, engagement, and writing up reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great to use for scheduling and engaging with users.
