LayerX helps me get my job done in an easier fashion.
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use and helps me get my job done in an easier fashion. I work at our IT department and have to run performance checks on the applications our employees use. It’s not my favorite part of the job but it needs to be done. Otherwise, unauthorized applications (also known in our industry as shadow IT) might be used and could constitute a risk to our systems. With LayerX I can get reports of how our employees use any applications and identify the unauthorized ones. I can easily see which applications are being used, if accounts are being shared and if data is being leaked. It is all made accessible to me in a clear mapping and in reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn’t solve the issue of me having to monitor employees for the applications they use :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying unauthorized SaaS applications used by our employees and any leaked data.

Helps prevent employees from adding malicious browser extensions
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that LayerX is its ability to enforce organization-wide policies with just one click.
Unfortunately in the past we have had ocassions where some of our employees have installed unauthorized browser extensions, which had malware that infiltrated our systems. This led to major financial repercussions.
LayerX makes it easy for me to create and implement policies that prevents the addition of any extension across all company browsers, which is a great way to prevent employees from adding malicious browser extensions that could create an internal breach.

It helps us prevent breaches and allows us to control which browser extensions are allowed on company systems. This helps us ensure the security and integrity of our internal systems.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create policies based on the actual actions our employees took online. We recently found out some of our users had accidentally uploaded sensitive data to an unauthorized SaaS application. We were able to quickly fix the issue but needed a solution to prevent this from recurring in the future. LayerX was the solution we found. I can see what actions users are taking, but most importantly, I can set policies to determine what employees are permitted or prohibited to do. I was able to set policies based on a few different characteristics, like the user’s role, where they accessed from, what they did and the types of risks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just took me a few minutes to figure out how to create the first policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Controlling which data is shared online through accurate policies that are detailed enough for our needs.
LayerX is greatly benefiting our company – preventing web threats
What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love the high block rate of phishing attacks that LayerX provides! It's such a relief to have found a solution that prevents these types of attacks on our websites. Before, our employees were getting scammed and we were dealing with compromised credentials and file dropping. Our previous solution, a DNS firewall and threat intelligence feeds, just wasn't keeping up with new types of phishing attacks. But with LayerX, the AI technology is able to solve these problems, which is greatly benefiting our company by identifying malicious content, preventing credential theft and social engineering on webpages.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have a "dislike". LayerX has surpassed my expectations.

Its like having an extra set of eyes on our network, always watching out for any suspicious activity
What do you like best about the product?
It’s amazing how quickly LayerX detects user behavior that's out of line. It keeps me calm knowing that if someone's trying to steal our data, we'll catch them sooner rather than later. It's like having an extra set of eyes on our network, always watching out for any suspicious activity.
What do you dislike about the product?
As for dislikes, I'll be honest, I would love it if there was an ability for me to get alerts on my phone. It would make it even more convenient for me to stay on top of things and know what's happening on my network even when I'm not at my desk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, the product is solving a major problem for us by preventing attackers inside our network from stealing sensitive data or our employees accidentally sharing it externally. And I can't stress enough how much of a benefit that is for our company. It's giving us peace of mind knowing that our data is secure and we are protected from cyber-attacks.

What do you like best about the product?
LayerX has made my job significantly easier by helping me protect our company's SaaS applications. With so many employees accessing them from their personal devices, it's a constant worry that attackers will steal their passwords and gain access to our apps, download sensitive data from apps to their computer, or upload sensitive data to unauthorized SaaS apps. LayerX gives me peace of mind that these risks are mitigated.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have to manually require employees to add LayerX to their personal devices. It's a necessary step but it's not always easy to get everyone on board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that this product is solving is restricting data uploading and downloading to unmanaged devices, in order to prevent malware and account compromise. This is incredibly beneficial for our company, as it helps keep our sensitive information secure and safe. But it's also a constant reminder of the risks we face as a company and the constant effort it takes to keep our data safe.
Huge game changer for us at security
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX is one heck of a game changer for us. We recently rolled it out at our company and one of the things I love most about it is how easy it was for us to deploy. We're always getting pushback from employees about how our security requirements slow them down, but with this one, crickets. Deployed in just a few minutes and we never heard from them again. I even checked with IT, not a peep. It's a game changer for us in the security department.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there's anything I really dislike about it, but it would be nice if it had an EDR solution. But that isn’t a deal breaker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem this product is solving is the risk associated with the increased use of the internet and SaaS apps. Instead of the local apps we used before, we needed a solution that would protect our corporate information when we went outside our network. LayerX helps us do just that, so we can use SaaS apps without compromising our data. It's a real benefit for us.
Browser configuration and keeping browsers updated - impressive.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I appreciate most about LayerX is its ease of use when it comes to monitoring and configuring all the browsers in our organization. As someone who is responsible for ensuring that all browsers have a unified configuration, this tool allows me to accomplish that with a high degree of efficiency, all from the comfort of my own office. The reliability and consistency of the program is quite impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I must mention that the user interface could benefit from further refinement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that this product addresses is the need for consistent configurations across all employee and vendor browsers. In addition – if a browser version is not updated for an end-user – it will notify the user about it and help them update the version. This is a crucial aspect of maintaining security and compliance within the organization, and LayerX enables us to accomplish this goal with a high degree of effectiveness, which is greatly beneficial for our company.
Better than a SWG and network solutions at securing web access for cloud first companies.
What do you like best about the product?
As a cloud-first company, most if not all of our work is done online. Traditionally, you would expect that we buy a secure web gateway or firewall to protect access to the web, but we found LayerX to be a way better and more cost effective solution for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
It still misses some of the capabilities of a SWG but those are completely minor for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anything related to web access, from threats such as phishing and downloading malware from malicious websites to preventing account takeovers and BYOD and contractors accessing our SaaS apps.
Finally! A proper solution for allowing contractors secure access to our online resources.
What do you like best about the product?
Finally! A proper solution for working with our contractors. As an IT manager I’m constantly tasked with providing our vendors with access to our online systems. It's tough enough with all the integrations and permissions they need, and in the past year I also have our security team breathing down my neck. LayerX solved that problem for me - contractors just need to use the extension on their browsers and poof! our systems and data are secured even when they use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if LayerX had a better way of explaining how it impacts contractors, since some of them aren’t keen on adding it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Letting our vendors access our online systems but without the previous cost and hassle of using VDI. My aformentioned security team is satisfied and we are compliant across the board.
