Clear Browser Activity Visibility with Easy, Actionable Alerts
Reviewed on Jun 03, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX gives our team clearer visibility into browser-based activity, which is where most work happens today. The platform makes it straightforward to spot suspicious browsing behavior, risky extensions, and unusual SaaS usage. Alerts are easy to understand and include enough detail for us to investigate quickly. Overall, it integrates smoothly and fits well alongside the other tools we already use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of monitoring options available, so it took me a bit of time to fine-tune the alert settings. Once I got through that initial tuning phase, the alerts became much more useful and relevant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Browser-based threats used to be harder for our team to track. LayerX helps us spot potential risks earlier and respond more quickly. It also gives us better visibility into how employees interact with web applications and external services, which makes it easier to understand what’s happening and act on it.

Outstanding AI Visibility and Guardrails for Safer Employee Use
Reviewed on Jun 02, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The AI visibility capabilities are the most valuable part of the platform for us. We can clearly see which AI tools employees are using and how they’re interacting with them. The platform captures prompts and responses, which is helpful during investigations and makes it easier to understand what happened. It also surfaces shadow AI tools we didn’t even know existed in our environment. On top of that, the guardrails that warn users before they share sensitive data are extremely useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting features could be more flexible. At times, exporting detailed reports takes extra steps because we have to apply additional filtering in the dashboard first. We also spent time adjusting policies so they wouldn’t interrupt legitimate workflows, which added some overhead during setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company wanted to enable AI tools, but we needed proper governance in place. LayerX helped us uncover dozens of tools employees were already experimenting with. Now we can steer users toward approved platforms while blocking the riskier ones. It also helps prevent employees from including confidential information in their prompts.

LayerX Delivers Clear AI App Visibility and Responsible Guardrails
Reviewed on May 28, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX gives us strong visibility into how employees are interacting with AI tools. The platform makes it easy to see which AI apps are being used and the types of data being shared. I also appreciate that we can steer users toward approved tools rather than just blocking everything outright. Overall, the guardrails promote responsible use without getting in the way of day-to-day workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard includes a lot of features, so it takes a bit of time to explore and get familiar with everything. Adding more quick-start policy templates would make the onboarding process even smoother.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization wanted to embrace AI while still maintaining strong governance. LayerX helped us identify shadow AI tools being used across different departments. As a result, we can now enforce policies that prevent sensitive data from being shared with external AI services. Overall, it lets us support innovation without compromising data security.

Clear SaaS & Data Visibility with a Smooth, Quiet Rollout
Reviewed on May 13, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX is a strong fit for environments where most work happens in the browser. It gives clear visibility into SaaS tools, AI platforms, and data transfers, which makes it easier to understand what’s happening across those services. The rollout was straightforward and didn’t require major changes for employees, so adoption felt smooth. I also like how quietly it runs in the background without disrupting the user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The policy options are quite detailed, so the initial setup takes a bit of attention. Once everything is configured, though, day-to-day management is very easy and straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest challenge was figuring out how employees were actually using different web applications day to day. LayerX helped us quickly spot unsanctioned tools and risky behavior. With that added visibility, we’re able to put stronger security controls in place while still keeping workflows smooth.

What do you like best about the product?
LayerX has made it much easier for our IT team to understand what’s happening inside employees’ browsers. The dashboard is clear and gives us good visibility into SaaS usage, AI tools, and extension activity. I also appreciate that it works with the browsers people already use, so we didn’t have to change anyone’s day-to-day setup. Deployment was quicker than we expected as well, which helped us get up and running without much friction.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard shows a lot of information, so it can take a bit of time to get comfortable navigating it. After you learn where everything is, it becomes much easier to manage and use day to day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before LayerX, we didn’t have much visibility into browser-based risks. Now we can quickly spot shadow SaaS tools and potentially risky extensions. It’s helped us enforce stronger security policies without getting in the way of employees’ day-to-day work.

Powerful Browser-Based Policy Enforcement for Modern SaaS
Reviewed on Apr 06, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX delivers strong policy enforcement right in the browser. It lets us control actions such as file uploads, copy/paste behavior, and access to specific applications. The identity-based policies are especially helpful for making sure employees are using their corporate accounts. It also integrates smoothly with modern SaaS environments, which makes it easier to apply these controls consistently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tuning the policies took some testing to ensure legitimate workflows weren’t interrupted. After we adjusted them, everything ran smoothly and the overall experience became very seamless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Browser-based threats and potential data leakage were areas we wanted to strengthen. LayerX gives us clearer visibility into how data moves through web applications, and it helps prevent employees from sharing sensitive information outside approved environments. Overall, it adds an important control point within our security architecture.

Clear Browser Visibility and Easy Deployment for Spotting Risky Activity
Reviewed on Mar 26, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX gives us a clear view into what’s happening inside the browser, especially across the SaaS and AI tools we rely on. Deployment was straightforward and didn’t require any major changes to how employees work day to day. I also appreciate that it runs across the common browsers our teams already use. The dashboard makes it easy to quickly spot risky activity and flag unusual data transfers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform offers a wide range of policy options, so the initial setup takes some planning. Adding a few more preset configurations would make onboarding faster and help get things up and running more smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our teams rely heavily on web applications, which used to make browser activity a real blind spot for us. LayerX helps us monitor file transfers, account usage, and AI interactions directly in the browser. As a result, we can quickly spot unsanctioned tools or other risky behavior before it becomes a bigger issue. Overall, it has significantly improved our visibility into browser-based threats and day-to-day activity.

LayerX Delivers Seamless AI Security Oversight Without Slowing Developers
Reviewed on Mar 18, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Our engineering teams regularly use AI tools for coding assistance and research. LayerX helps us keep visibility into those interactions and reduces the risk of sensitive code being shared accidentally. The platform can flag risky prompts and apply guardrails when needed. Overall, it gives us the security oversight we need without getting in the way of developer workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuring the policies takes a bit of planning to ensure developer workflows stay smooth. Once the initial setup is done, though, it’s been running reliably ever since.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One concern we had was developers accidentally sharing proprietary code with AI services. LayerX helps address that risk by monitoring prompts and file uploads, so sensitive information is less likely to be exposed. It also gives our security team clearer visibility into how AI tools are being used across the organization. Overall, it lets developers keep using AI in their day-to-day work while still protecting the company’s intellectual property.

Effortless BYOD Security with Full Browsing Visibility
Reviewed on Mar 16, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
LayerX has worked well for securing remote employees and BYOD environments. Deploying the browser extension made the rollout straightforward, without the need to install heavy agents on devices. Even so, we still get full visibility into browsing activity and data transfers. It also supports multiple browsers, which made adoption easier across different teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
User onboarding took a bit of explanation so employees understood the purpose of the extension. After the initial rollout, though, the platform has been straightforward and easy to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As more of our employees work remotely, we needed a reliable way to protect company data on unmanaged devices. LayerX lets us enforce security controls directly in the browser, so we can block risky uploads and keep an eye on suspicious activity even when people are using personal machines. Overall, it’s helped us secure remote access without adding extra complexity for the team.
