Love, love, love Hootsuite!

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love everything about Hootsuite, it's easy to use, mobile friendly and well designed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that Hootsuite offered automatic posting for Instagram and not just reminders. It's kind of the only bummer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes my social media dailies way more streamlined. Easier to post, easier to see comments and messages and easier to see mentions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really easy to use and very useful in daily activities. I waited a year to start using it and wish I hadn't!

Hootsuite is THE tool for managing all your social media platforms in one area

  • January 26, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hands down the best feature about Hootsuite is the schedule of posts. It's easy to upload a .csv and schedule posts in one bulk. Also, monitoring all your accounts and hashtags in one area.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be very busy and hard to follow right away when you first get this tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling posts across platforms is the #1 problem that this software has fixed. Also, the reporting on Hootsuite is hands down better than what you can get from other platforms, and you can compare them side by side.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a platform to make your social media life easier, Hootsuite is it. It's by far better than the other competitors out there.

What do you like best about the product?
HootSuite provides me with the ability to write excellent content while controlling my schedule and not having to be bolted to social media throughout the day. It is a definite time saver!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. I appreciate the freedom to schedule content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time and the management of it . As my business grows, client base grows, the challenge to not skip corners and provide incredible content to future and existing customers can always present a challenge. Schedule it with HootSuite. That is the resolution.

This is a solid platform for keeping track of social media and for scheduling posts.

What do you like best about the product?
THe features that I like the most is the ability to see all of the posts on my social media pages in the same place. It is also a great place to schedule posts in advance on multiple channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although you can see multiple social media channels on your page the layout can be a bit confusing. The newsfeed can get really clogged up with things that come through each channel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program really saved me a great deal of time when it comes to ensuring that there is continuity across all my social media platforms and to make sure that I am posting on those platform consistently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very good platform I would highly recommend that you give it a try. In less than an hour a week you can schedule all of the social media posts that you need to for up to 7 days.

Excellent Platform To Manage Multiple Social Media Accounts

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is an excellent platform to manage multiple social media accounts. I have tried others and I always come back to Hootsuite because of its easy functionality. It allows me to toggle back and forth between Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter without opening up another tab.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike anything about it. It's easy to use and very non technical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to post from my blog or directly on Hootsuite allowing me to hit many social media platforms with one post. You can also auto schedule posts which is a huge time saver!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend if you are posting content across multiple social media platforms. There is a paid version with more benefits although I have never tried it.

Great For Multi-Taskers & Consultants

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I deal with a great number of clients who prefer a one and done approach whenever possible. Posts can be scheduled by a mobile device or via desktop which is great for companies that have less than 10 employees. You know the setup, everyone is already wearing three hats and the frequent question is "Is it my turn to post something this week?".

I like that with HootSuite, all areas of social are updated on a consistent basis, and customer reach can be monitored post-by-post. I like that I can target customers by location and basic demographics saving me the time of digging through Twitter and Facebook to tediously do the same thing multiple times. And knowing that posts will appear at the times I need them to appear is great for filling in gaps where a team is unable to interact with trending conversations.

HootSuite is also a great introductory tool for small businesses who have had little to no social presence. Being able to visually see the connection between consistent social posting and increased site visitors is great for establishing healthy social habits.
What do you dislike about the product?
When scheduling posts via the HootSuite app on my iPad Pro (2016 model) I found that there were issues with screen rotation and buttons/tools disappearing due to the inability to fit everything in one clean screen space as I'm able to do via desktop. This is a minor concern. I just have to remember to remain in horizontal mode opposed to vertical when operating HootSuite on my iPad.

I found that when setting up Instagram, the back and forth can turn clients off from the idea of automating posts. The verification process seems to have a small hiccup between HootSuite and client profiles. I don't mind taking the time to knock out the phone verification, but it does make some of my clients a bit antsy.

I've also had issues with the app freezing on occasion. It's nothing that a full exit and restart of the app can't fix. I tend to have apps like Gmail, Instagram (personal), and ten dozen other things running at the same time. I'm definitely a power user!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a consultant, I'm addressing customers who have either a) never addressed a need for social presence. These are typically mom and pop shop who finally break when they hear that a neighboring business is seeing a rush of results from tools like flash sales or coupon codes only found on Twitter. The other end of the spectrum represents b) customers who have a social presence, however, it's extremely fragmented or inconsistent.

One benefit I've immediately found is that Hootsuite causes my clients to recognize that some posts receive actionable results on one social outlet versus another. There also emerges a need to communicate the same message about a promotion or special several different ways (video, vs gif, vs text). This could mean a social square for Instagram and Twitter, or a full-on customer business announcement on Facebook all bearing the same message but getting the most reach from the intended audience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. Don't let the price make or break your experience. Go with the lite version, see if processes are starting to benefit. Once everyone starts to feel as though there is some solid weight to the product, then I would suggest going all in and paying for power user level services!

2. If consulting, be patient with clients. Getting through the setup can take about a day or so if passwords and emails are all over the place. If your client at least has those items in order, you'll be good to go in no time.

3. Recognize that social takes valuable time from a day. I try to stick to Hootesuite for "filler" curated content, promotions, and internal messages. Anything extra such as monitoring trending conversations and hashtags should be done by a human on a daily, if not, weekly basis if at all possible.
