What do you like best about the product?
There are several aspects of SAP S/4 HANA that I appreciate. The user interface is much more intuitive than what I experienced with the older SAP ECC system. I also value the strong integration across finance, procurement, and supply chain modules, which streamlines processes. The real-time analytics and dashboards are particularly helpful for making informed decisions quickly. Additionally, the option for cloud deployment not only reduces IT maintenance costs but also offers greater scalability.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few aspects I dislike. The initial implementation is quite complex and demands significant consulting support. Additionally, the licensing costs are high, which can be a challenge for mid-sized companies. Finally, the system's performance is highly dependent on a stable internet connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP S/4HANA Cloud has enabled me to streamline procurement and supply chain operations by providing real-time visibility into inventory, suppliers, and spending. This platform helps reduce manual errors, accelerates approval processes, and enhances decision-making. As a result, I am able to dedicate more time to strategic supplier management.

What I dislike about SAP S/4HANA Cloud is its complexity during initial setup and configuration, which requires expert support. The licensing and subscription costs are relatively high for small businesses. Some customization options are limited compared to on-premise solutions, which can restrict flexibility. Additionally, frequent updates sometimes disrupt ongoing processes and require extra adaptation.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud offers a comprehensive suite of tools that enable large organizations to effectively manage complex supply chains, meet compliance requirements, and handle sustainability reporting within a single integrated system. In my position as a Deforestation Analyst, I particularly appreciate the platform’s transparency and traceability features, which are essential for maintaining compliance with EUDR and other environmental standards. The capability to centralize financial, procurement, and operational data greatly facilitates cross-departmental collaboration and enhances overall decision-making. Additionally, the system’s high level of customization is especially important for multinational companies like Mondelez, which operate across various regions and industries.
What do you dislike about the product?
While powerful, SAP S/4HANA Cloud has a steep learning curve, especially for users who are not technical experts. The user interface can feel overwhelming due to the sheer number of features and modules, and onboarding new colleagues takes considerable time. Implementation is resource-intensive and requires significant support from SAP consultants, which can increase costs. Additionally, system performance can sometimes lag when handling very large datasets, and integration with certain third-party tools is not always seamless. A more intuitive design and simplified configuration would make the platform even stronger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my professional experience, I have had limited exposure to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, primarily within procurement and supplier management processes. Based on my observations, the system is structured to centralize data and enhance visibility across various departments, which can help improve compliance monitoring and sustainability reporting. For large organizations, this level of integration is valuable for maintaining data accuracy and consistency. Although I am not a daily user, I recognize the potential benefits in areas such as supply chain transparency and aligning business processes with regulatory requirements like EUDR.

Business control with user friendly use. SAP S4 introduce new reporting tools with more faster processing. it is top in the market and SAP after implementing support is best.

Transformation process is little long where most of the time people going green field implementations which is costly, old enhancements in system which still not available in S/4 hana will be lost

Usage of transaction is more user friendly which will help business to use system more efficiently. reporting is very fast because new tables introduce.

Sometimes the setup and customization feel complicated, and it takes extra time for new users to learn. So i suggest make the system simpler for beginners and reduce the time needed for customization.

Future of ERP
What do you like best about the product?
Highlight of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the implementation time. Being a cloud solution, it provides standard templates to organization which can be the right starting point for many organization. It also provides faster updates than the on-premise solution and has enhanced AI and analytics capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Biggest downside of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is definitely the limited level of customization. It is not directly possible for organizations to move from ECC systems to S/4HANA cloud due to this limitation. Another drawback is limited knowledge articles on S/4HANA cloud.

It helps in giving a starting point for organizations to invest in ERP without having dedicated infrastructure as it is completely on cloud saving cost and time of implementation.
