Great tool, great company
What do you like best about the product?
The capability of the tool meets my needs, and the on boarding process is very smooth and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Out of the box solutions are functional but limited. I'd like to see more customizations baked-in instead of requiring coding help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a robust, stable LMS that allows me to focus on the actual course content and not worry about the infrastructure.
Skilljar - Customer Education made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Simplifies the overall customer experience for learning. We have been able to easily load all our content and build this into the appropriate learning paths or accreditation series for customers and partners with minimum effort. Customer success team are light years ahead of any other software vendor we have worked with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited reporting and notification functionality in the early stages, but most of the required features have since been added upon request from their customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have a learning platform that customers WANT to come back to. We have increased site traffic by over 300% and doubled the engagement with our learning content.
Great product. Even better onboarding services.
What do you like best about the product?
Our implementation manager Jeff has gone above and beyond to get us onboarded onto Skilljar. Give this guy a raise!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is currently no way to upload a single image to then be used across multiple places within the site. Also, it would be nice to be able to set default settings for courses/lessons or alternatively be able to bulk modify settings (i.e. change settings for multiple courses/lessons at once)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Self-serve customer education
The only solution I can use out of the box
What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar focuses on customer education first. Other Learning Management Systems reach out to you and explain all of the ways they have helped to grow internal training programs, and then come back to you with the ways that they can help your external needs. They all require workarounds or creating processes to make it work for external users. With Skilljar, I can set up a customer academy with ease, manage students, sort them into groups for specific access and reporting, coordinate live trainings, and even sell courses with little to no training needed.
Being intuitive and user friendly doesn't mean that Skilljar doesn't provide training. Software is a tool and tools need training. You're given white glove treatment from sales, implementation, support, and I'm sure it will continue as we get handed off to our CSM. I've been able to create our entire academy on my own with the guidance of everyone at Skilljar. With little HTML experience, we have a branded page thanks to the help from our Implementation Manager, Hannah. Also, I can't forget that Skilljar obviously uses their own platform to provide amazing self serve content and a certificate after completing their exam (My LinkedIn is starting to look pretty sweet!).

What do you dislike about the product?
Some things seem to only work in one direction and not the other. I feel like I sometimes need to work backward to achieve a result or I hit a roadblock at some point, have to leave a particular part of the dashboard, do something elsewhere, and then come back. This doesn't stop me from achieving what I need, it just doesn't always flow the way I would to experience things as a user.
Also, the interface can sometimes feel a bit dated, however it completely does the job! I hope in the future to see an updated interface, at least for the customer facing side of things, like lessons. Even in "Full Screen" lessons, videos are a bit offset and so are the titles. Quizzes and text related lessons work perfectly, but could use a modern look. We achieve this by creating the content outside of Skilljar and uploading those assets in as lessons, but it would be nice if the authoring tools within Skilljar were updated.
At the end of the day Skilljar meets all of our needs and I can't wait to see what's next.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As our company matures and grows, we can no longer provide instructor led training to all of our customers. Our industry is extremely seasonal, with new people starting in different seasons. Delivering the same training 6 times throughout the year to the same company is no longer scalable. Skilljar solves this problem and many more for us. Their platform allows us to scale training and allows our employees to focus more on other aspects of their job.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to feel like you have a partnership with your LMS provider, pick Skilljar. If you've gotten this far, you're looking for something to help build out customer education and Skilljar will help you do that. I can say with 100% confidence that we are not just a number to them and I know we're a very small client for them at the moment. I love what I've seen so far and I can't wait to see where our academy is a year from now, with much of that being thanks to what Skilljar is providing.
The smoothest platform adoption ever
What do you like best about the product?
While there are many vendors with LMS tools Skilljar stands apart not just in the refreshingly easy user experience but also in their stellar customer service. The sales team members worked together to really understand what we needed and how we intended on using our multiple domains (customer, employee and channel) to ensure Skilljar was, indeed, the best fit for our needs. This was my second LMS adoption and the guides, courses and tips provided by our Skilljar team during implementation were well-thought out and detailed enough to follow and not be bogged down with unneeded information. Plus, our CSM, Lillian, is more of a partner in our process and has provided direction and friendly, actionable support all along the way. It's been a long time since I have been this excited about a product as I am about Skilljar!
What do you dislike about the product?
It may be unfair to place these comments under this "dislike" question because these are not things I dislike about Skilljar, they are just things that are a little different than other LMSs. Courses cannot be "assigned" to learners in SJ right now but there are ways to categorize your content to drive your learner to register for the courses they need to take. For instance, a new SDR can go into our catalog and click on their role and the appropriate courses are shown.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main reason we looked to switch is because we wanted a vibrant, intutive, friendly environment to provide our customers with courses on our products but also on industry trends. Skilljar offers an easier and more engaging visual experience for our learners and is easy to manage on the LMD admin side, too.
Best-in-class Customer Education LMS
What do you like best about the product?
Immensely flexible in terms of content offerings and technical innovation, but the customer-facing teams set Skilljar apart. Our company doesn't have the resources to be as integrated as we'd like with the system, but the Skilljar team is always there with a solution to get us what we need with what we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I actually think this is a net positive because they are able to focus on doing some features really well, there are some typical LMS features that are not present, instead relying on other, integrated platforms. I do believe though, that for customer education in general, this is probably a plus, it just doesn't always work for our particular situation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this for our self-paced Customer Education programs. We have used Skilljar to streamline and improve the customer experience, better analytics, more effective e-commerce, and more advanced content creation options. Our revenues have experienced positive growth since we have started using Skilljar. Our user course completion has increased 50% and our number of hours of interaction have greatly increased.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great out of the box, but it is other-worldly when used with integrated services like marketing automation, sales systems, and others. Be prepared to do that and you will have an outstanding program.
Skilljar has helped us achieve the next level of customer engagement training we so greatly needed!
What do you like best about the product?
The Skilljar product is backed by an amazing team of people. It is more that using a software, it is engaging with an amazing team as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no media hybrid options for lessons. The creative work-around is to utilize the lesson summary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Skilljar for Customer Onboarding, Product Training, and as a customer resource repository.
Great product, but more amazing Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
We just completed our implementation a few months ago and the process has been phenomenal. Our Skilljar team has been great every step of the way. I have worked in Implementation for the last 3 years, and this has been one of the smoothest I have ever been a part of.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a chat feature within the program, such as "Slack" so we could better communicate with our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have formalized our education platform thanks to Skill Jar. Our website has given us much greater visibility for our program, and makes our small team seem like so much more.
Great product, great people!
What do you like best about the product?
While the tool is more than capable, I think the team (sales, implementation, customer success) are truly the difference makers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more flexibility and detail in the reporting tools. This tool relies to heavily on integrations like Salesforce for reporting data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have automated our training enrollment process, which has been time saving for us.
Additionally, we can now track specific customer stats, vs. generalized data without the LMS.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing - we are happy so far with the functionality and ease of use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our training was onsite or webinars. We launched in November and already we have had 372 hours of course materials consumed with no marketing - all by word of mouth. We are also getting kudos from customers for the format, including global customers.
