Skilljar is a great starter LMS

  • September 26, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly easy to get started in Skilljar. B/c they also have a content editor, it also means that you don't need an e-learning authoring tool as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Skilljar's UI is a bit clunky (but nothing that you don't get used to over time). I also wish that they had traditional learning paths as their current option lacks reporting and makes it difficult for users to go from course to course. Lastly, while simple, I wish their in-app design tools had more options/templates or layout themes to really personalize the experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to streamline our customer education delivery within weeks of purchase and the impacts have been long-lasting

Blown Away by the Skilljar Team & Customer Service

  • June 05, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform itself is extremely user friendly and intuitive. However, what I like the most is the team we were assigned. They have had a constant attitude of "We can do this" when it comes to our questions, our needs, and our vision for the training sector.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are rather new - there aren't many things I could complain about regarding Skilljar. The only thing that would be a helpful add-on to the platform would be the ability to customize communication directly to students. But we're able to sort that out via the Salesforce integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing best-practice training to our the clients of our technology solution beyond end user implementation. We provide in-person training courses, and we are also developing new curriculum for on-demand courses. Skilljar is the platform we are utilizing for both types of trainings. This project has been a long time process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The team you will be given will become part of your success with you and the most capable of coworkers.

Makes eLearning easy to use

  • May 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Platform is easy to post PDFs & videos for learning remotely. Tracking a student's progress is effective
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to go to a couple more tabs to track a student's progress, wish it would consolidate into one tab rather than going to several pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None

Really good product

  • May 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing that most impressed me with Northpass was that it comes fully featured - had almost everything you could need from an LMS. There were several plugins that we expected to pay for (e.g. Bamboo HR), which came as standard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The developer experience is generally very good, the structure is nice & it's fairly intuitive. However there were times when the user interface was inflexible. Things I expected to be able to do, I just couldn't. Nothing major, but still frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed an LMS which had great presentation, was easy to manage and had good external system integrations. We now have an easy to maage LMS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Negotiate on price - they are flexible

Intuitive for Admins & Learners

  • March 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can create a course with multiple sections each containing sub-topics and activities. This way I can split up the lessons into easy to digest pieces for my learners without having to string together courses behind the scenes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more granular visibility into the progress of my learners (topic-by-topic) and the ability to complete or override tasks on their behalf if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing our customers with 24x7 access to training courses giving us a better global reach. We are providing a higher touch service compared to Help Documentation but a lower cost service compared to one-on-one consulting. This has opened a new revenue stream for us. Customers who wouldn't have previously purchased a high cost service are benefitting from the additional support they get when taking a training course compared to trying to self-teach with Help Documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Northpass is a great fit for customer training. Nothing for the customer to install and no explanation needed for the learner to figure out how to use the product.

Happy Customer - Northpass has transformed our training

  • March 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Northpass is really user friendly to set up training for our staff and for our staff to complete the training. The integration with Bamboo HR has been amazing for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
No major dislikes, we are however pleased to hear about the new learner experience release which looks great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration with Northpass as our training platform and BambooHR as our HR platform has streamlined lots of manual processes previously in recording training. This hugely helps with reporting too.

Excellent Team and Support

  • February 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The team and support is some of the best I’ve personally built a relationship with, always happy to help with quick response.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say dislike, but new features come every few months if not more. It’s the struggle of any growing business. I do think this will improve in the very near future. 🙂
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick, painless recruiting and learning efforts to the masses.

Accessible tool with great support

  • February 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating courses and the ability to ensure the completion of these courses whether it be by ensuring that users have to watch the videos entirely or score a specific mark in their tests
What do you dislike about the product?
The website doesn't support Arabic format (Right to Left)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to provide the users of my platform with an online tool to send them educational courses. This has reduced the cost I had to pay when I held on-ground educational courses

Perfect LMS for scaling your business

  • January 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Skilljar has all the features to make launching an LMS super easy. Their team has been amazing at every step of the process, and consistently delivers! For our team specifically, we were looking for a platform that worked with simple content to make our LMS viable - things like Google Presentations, Google Docs, and videos recorded to mp4. Skilljar's reporting capabilities and integrations with other systems has also made it an incredible addition to our team's tech stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation can be pretty difficult to understand - Domains vs. catalogs vs. course series vs. courses vs. lessons... I think a lot of it depends on how you set up your instance, but helping to clear that up would be great!
Not necessarily a 'dislike' but pre-formatted options for layout would be great, too. I know a lot of customers prefer to customize their HTML, but we're a low-tech shop, and having templates would be super useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for ways to 'automate' onboarding and customer education without hiring additional headcount. Skilljar has helped us to remove the concept of 'tribal knowledge' from our team and really share our product with our customers. We're seeing increased levels of customer sophistication, and decreased time in onboarding as a result of leveraging Skilljar.

Great product, but limiting in a few ways.

  • January 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There's a lot of room to customize the appearance of your courses, which is nice since our company likes to keep things all under one brand identity. We also find that the options for question types is fairly extensive, which is a great way to keep trainings like this interesting!
What do you dislike about the product?
The process of updating the appearance of the courses requires HTMl / CSS knowledge, which not everyone has. There are also a lot of features (like linear course pathways) that feel like they should be included in the core product, but are actually paid additions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We deliver on an online software to our clients that we have to teach how to use. We used to do manual guided trainings - but that wasn't scalable or effective. Instead, we've created a 6 module self paced training course through Northpass, which helped us scale our training efforts and cut time from the onboarding process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think through your courses thoroughly before creating them all! And make sure you're creating them in a way that makes sense to the client if they have the choice to pick and choose where to proceed to after completing a course. It doesn't always happen in a linear fashion. Also, make sure you know some HTML / CSS if you want to redesign any of the courses! Adding CSS to the text editor also disappears if you edit the text itself, so make sure you've included all your rich text, THEN add css, otherwise all styling will disappear. I think this might be a bug.
