What do you like best about the product?
I love Workiva for its real-time collaboration features, which allow multiple team members to work on the same report seamlessly, helping to avoid overwrites. The system also eliminates manual data entry errors by using an automated linking system. During the initial setup, Workiva provided great support, assigning a professional service team to assist with data setup and template creation, which, despite initially taking some time, was definitely worth it for the long-term efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be quite steep for new users because the platform has so many features. Also, the pricing is on the high side, so it might not be the best fit for smaller companies with very simple reporting needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Workiva for financial reporting, ensuring data consistency and audit readiness. It helps solve version control issues, allowing team collaboration on a single document, and eliminates manual data entry errors through automation.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the 'link once' capability in Workiva. It provides ease of internal reporting and keeps links in sync, making it easier for me to manage documents. Also, the initial setup was very well structured, as Workiva assigned us a dedicated implementation team that guided us through dot mapping and workspace configuration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be quite stiff for new users, especially for those familiar with standard word processors. This means that training takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Workiva for financial reporting, ensuring all numbers are accurate across documents. It solves version control issues and enhances team collaboration by allowing us to work on the same file simultaneously.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the power of Wdata and its automation because it makes data integration easy and helps avoid manual errors. I also really like the version control between documents; it’s excellent for maintaining data integrity.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could use some improvement. It feels slow and heavy, but mainly when I’m working with large amounts of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me a lot with data governance by eliminating issues such as scattered files and making it easier to generate complete, reliable reports. I can confirm that Workiva delivers on what it promises and does an excellent job.

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to centralize data and have real-time version control. It ensures that when a change occurs, control stays centralized and is automatically monitored, which helps eliminate manual errors. On top of that, the automated workflow makes it easy to track certification and compliance reviews—it’s fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
We ran into a few challenges during implementation, and setting up the framework was fairly complex and time-consuming. That said, none of these issues had any negative impact on its functionality.

Overall, it’s a good tool that works well. It does require a considerable investment of time and money, but it also provides peace of mind, which supports data analysis and improves operational efficiency. For me, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. It’s excellent overall, and everything runs smoothly within an auditable, professional workflow.

What I dislike about Workiva is that it can feel a bit overwhelming for new users, especially with so many features packed into one platform

This benefits us by reducing time spent on administrative tasks, improving accuracy, streamlining collaboration between audit teams, and ensuring full compliance, making audits faster, more transparent, and far less stressful.

The fact that it lets my team - I mean the people in my team work on the same report or dataset at the same time with changes tracked and whatnot

It’s a bit pricey for someone who is jsut starting to use it and the learning curve should be more gentle.

I appreciate that Workiva confidently manages complex and high-pressure reporting work. The way data stays linked across documents, spreadsheets, and presentations is a huge plus as it significantly reduces the risk of errors and repetitive manual updates. I value the structured and controlled collaboration, which makes reviews, approvals, and last-minute changes much easier to handle. I like that it allows me to focus more on accuracy and decision-making rather than dealing with inconsistencies or managing versions. The data linking feature is particularly valuable because it eliminates manual updates across multiple files, automatically updating numbers or disclosures everywhere they are used. This not only saves time during review cycles and reduces stress, but it also ensures the data is consistent, traceable, and aligned, increasing my confidence in the final output.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where Workiva could be improved is usability for new or infrequent users. The platform is powerful, but the depth of features can feel overwhelming at first, and it takes time to fully understand the best way to navigate workflows and configurations. Some tasks that are simple in traditional tools can require more steps, which can slow things down until users are fully trained. Based on my experience with Workiva, one improvement that would add meaningful value is more role-based guidance and contextual help within the platform. Enhancing performance when working with very large or complex reports would also help during peak reporting periods. Additionally, more flexible customization of dashboards and reporting views would allow teams to surface the most important information faster and work more efficiently.

Workiva has limited functionality compared with Excel features. It also has a steep learning curve and does not allow users to edit and work on existing Microsoft documents, requiring users to create new spreadsheets instead.

The Workiva application is helping us keep all SOX control-related sign-offs, the control framework, audit logs, and related documentation in one place. This is very useful during audits and external review meetings.
