What do you like best about the product?

If you make an edit to a single piece of information in a spreadsheet (that has Linked Data enabled) then that edit will automatically flow to ALL related reports or presentations. So I am no longer forced to find 5 different versions of the same report at 9 pm. The last thing I want to do after a long day is manually correct the same disclosure in 4 different areas.

What do you dislike about the product?

Workiva crawls when your dataset gets large. And I know this sounds minor but I still can’t copy & paste out of certain Task Fields, which seems like an obvious oversight to me and apparently they have known about this since forever. License costs aren’t cheap as well if you’re not already invested in the Ecosystem.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It basically keeps Finance & Audit Teams from drowning in emails & Excel Files that can’t communicate with each other and our SOX documents were previously spread across whoever’s email account had the latest version; now we keep everything in one place using a single Source of Truth. Saves us a ton of time running around looking for Sign Offs.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?

"One downside of Workiva is that it can have a learning curve for new users, especially if they're not familiar with reporting or compliance software. Some tasks that seem simple in spreadsheets may take time to learn in Workiva's environment. It can also be relatively expensive for smaller organizations, and users may occasionally find certain customizations or advanced features less flexible than they would like. However, many organizations feel the benefits in accuracy, collaboration, and reporting efficiency outweigh these challenges."

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workiva helps solve challenges related to reporting accuracy, data consistency, and team collaboration. Before using a platform like Workiva, organizations often spend a lot of time manually updating spreadsheets, reconciling data from different sources, and managing multiple document versions. Workiva helps streamline these processes by connecting data across reports, reducing manual work, improving accuracy, and making it easier for teams to collaborate while maintaining compliance and audit readiness."

What do you like best about the product?

Workiva provides an intuitive platform for collaboration, data management, and reporting. Its automation, real-time updates, and seamless integrations save time, reduce errors, and make complex workflows more efficient

What do you dislike about the product?

Workiva is a powerful platform, but there is a learning curve for new users. Some workflows can feel a bit complex, and performance may slow down with large files. Improving navigation and simplifying certain features would make the user experience better.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workiva solves the challenge of managing data, reporting, and collaboration across teams. It reduces manual work, minimizes errors, and keeps everyone aligned with real-time updates, making our workflows more efficient and productive

What do you like best about the product?

The ability for many people to work in the same document at the same time. Blackline, track changes, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?

I dislike that the spreadsheets lack some of the functionality I am accustomed to with Excel. Greater parity to Excel would be beneficial.

XBRL tagging. That would be hard to do without Workiva

What do you like best about the product?

Workiva’s technical performance and well-organized data management are exceptional, particularly in collaborative environments. As a Compliance Manager in the financial consulting sector, my favorite capability is linking data directly from workbooks into our compliance memos and financial statements. We can update a central workbook and then simply hit publish, which keeps every document fully consistent without having to manually adjust numbers in multiple places. This real-time collaboration gives our team a clear view of control attributes, greatly reduces manual errors, and I also want to note that the initial setup was remarkably straightforward.

What do you dislike about the product?

There are a few operational areas that could be improved to make daily workflows smoother. First, I strongly believe the platform should offer automatic email notifications. Right now, I have to manually check folders every day to see whether a client has uploaded new documentation; targeted email alerts tied to specific folders would be extremely helpful.

In addition, the platform lacks an automatic roll-forward feature for recurring documents (for example, periodic financial statements), which keeps this process more manual than it needs to be. Finally, it would be beneficial to have a more autonomous, interactive AI feature perhaps similar to Claude that can directly carry out document updates, rather than only suggesting refinements.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

In financial consulting, maintaining data integrity and regulatory compliance is paramount. By structurally linking our final reports to the underlying workbooks, Workiva has helped us eliminate the manual data-entry errors (often referred to as “fat-fingering”) that used to occur. This approach keeps our financial documents strictly consistent, saves our team a substantial amount of time, and significantly improves the operational efficiency of our compliance management.

Difficulty linking company data to Workiva worksheets.

I find Workiva excellent for collaboration, which is really important to me. The version control feature is key, as it helps identify who is proposing changes and who is able to make those changes. The setup was seamless because their team is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

The initial setup process is definitely more involved.

I use Workiva to automate SEC financial filings and enhance collaboration. It offers excellent version control and tracks changes, making it efficient and reliable.

What I like best about Workiva is its ability to centralize and streamline the entire financial reporting process in one controlled environment. The platform’s linking functionality ensures that numbers are consistent across the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, which significantly improves accuracy and audit defensibility. I also value the collaborative workflow features, such as task assignments, version control, and real-time editing, which make it easier to coordinate across teams during tight reporting timelines. Overall, it enhances both efficiency and transparency in producing SEC-ready filings.

What do you dislike about the product?

One of the challenges with Workiva is that certain processes still rely on manual intervention outside the platform, particularly for more complex calculations or non‑GAAP adjustments, which can create additional reconciliation steps and version control considerations. In addition, while the linking functionality is powerful, it can sometimes be difficult to troubleshoot when links break or when values do not update as expected. The platform can also be somewhat rigid in terms of formatting and customization, which occasionally requires extra time to achieve the desired presentation for filings. Overall, while highly effective, there are opportunities to improve flexibility and reduce reliance on offline processes.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workiva is solving the challenges of managing a complex, multi‑stakeholder financial reporting process by centralizing data, documentation, and collaboration in a single controlled environment. It reduces the risk of inconsistencies by enabling real‑time linking across financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules, which helps ensure accuracy and audit defensibility.
For me, this is particularly beneficial during the 10‑Q/10‑K process because it streamlines coordination across teams, tracks task ownership, and maintains version control, which minimizes manual errors and rework. It also improves transparency into changes and supports efficient review cycles, especially when working under tight deadlines.

What do you like best about the product?

Workiva makes collaboration across different teams very seamless by enabling link functionality and allowing sources to be updated across all worksheets without requiring manual input.

What do you dislike about the product?

It takes some time to get familiar with the platform, especially with how the linking works. Also, exporting to Excel sometimes doesn’t work properly and can be unreliable.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to have multiple users work on reporting at the same time has helped our team move much faster, with fewer interruptions. It also makes audit reviews seamless.

The links the report to the source data.

When I rollover from prior year to current year, the link may go wrong (the the way I wanted it to be)
