Workiva works!
What do you like best about the product?
A couple of months ago I accepted a new role as a Financial Reporting Manager where we use Workiva. I hadn't been in a reporting function in over 5 years and as such, that was the last time I had used Workiva. I was nervous that even though I had used the platform before, that it would be different or drastically updated from when I last used it but, I was pleasently surprised to know that the ease of use and intuitive features where pretty much the same, albeit with obvious small improvements. After using various platforms that are a pain, Workiva is everything but that and a joy to use daily. Way to go Workiva for creating a quality platform for reporting!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes formatting little things aren't that clear and usually a matter of trying different things until it looks how I want it to but, not a major thing by any means.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An efficient way to compile quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements.
Streamline project tracking with Workiva.
What do you like best about the product?
As someone who is in charge of team coordination and project tracking, I have found Workiva to be extremely supportive. The system it has is really a time saver for us in our documentations, especially those complex external-facing reports. I like the capability of linking directly to sources within documents as it guarantees data consistency and transparency. The interface in general is nice and very friendly, which shortens the time for new team members to get into the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nevertheless, I think that the authorship controls can be improved. It becomes quite chaotic when several users are editing a document at the same time, and I would like to see better management features for such situations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The use of Workiva has solved several important issues to us, especially in eliminating the risk of errors in our financial reporting. It provides for live updates so our documentation is always up-to-date making compliance checks easier.

What do you like best about the product?
Immediate level up to your control environment around ESG data and disclosures. Efficient collaboration. AI assisted content generation. Seamless integration between Workiva products (e.g. ESG, SEC, Controls Management).
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup, education takes some time but, once up and running, enables efficient, controlled, repeatable data collection, verification, and reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are in a race to establish controls and monitoring of controls around our ESG metrics and disclosures. Workiva has provided an immediate level up for us on that front. Additionally, the ability to connect/share between our ESG, SEC, and GRC workspaces has made our integrated assured reporting journey so much easier!

Workiva is good platform for generating reports & analysis - scalability looks a bit tricky
What do you like best about the product?
Tool is Cloud based so Integration and data sharing is easy. Licensing cost is also cheap so was very helpful for our business units to use the tool at a regional level. Using is the tool is quite easy and user interface is also intutive in nature. Customer support we sparingly used because we have not scaled the use case (still TAT was lower for L1 tickets). Frequency of the usage was weekly with overall build time of around 2 weeks (implementation)
What do you dislike about the product?
Workiva is good platform for generating reports & analysis - scalability looks a bit tricky & also Microsoft products combination can do a similar job but needs certain customisation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were basically using Workiva for Audit purpose which needs to have centralised tool. We have also used FERC reporting which is also one of the unique feature of the tool. We were able to roll out our Audit report with shorter turn around cycle via Workiva & also it made use complaint from Audit perspective as we have shared the access to external agency as well.
Financial Reporting Workspace
What do you like best about the product?
The Connections function pushes infromation in one spreadsheet to another to promote an integrated environment. We are able to create a source of truth file, connect it to dependent spreasheet (such as monthly or quarterly workbooks) and then update the data as neccesary. The linking functionality is also a must have for financial reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The G sheet functionality versus Excel functionality means less spreadsheet power and there are commonly lag times in the enviornment. I also find the document formating to be clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use NS to pull our financial reporting enviornment out of Excel to bring connected internal ansd external reporting. We have been able to create an enviorment to map to our Netsuite reports and generate financials quickly.
Convenient, easy-to-use, collaborative software
What do you like best about the product?
Track changes abilities of Workiva make review very easy. Leaving review comments with the ability to tag people is also very useful. Being able to concurrently make changes makes getting things done with tight deadlines possible as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slight bugs - sometimes when inputting formulas, there's a lag or the software is trying to process the calculations. Our workpapers are quite large so that's probably the reason but it wouldn't typically be an issue in something like Excel.
