It’s easy and interesting!
What do you like best about the product?
I have experience with Workiva from working in cloud management. The most remarkable is its great user interface, which unifies multiple teams from different departments. The platform is designed to offer real-time business updates, and this retains everyone around the loop and promotes our cumulative reception of the events in a better way.
What do you dislike about the product?
But there are a few things to ask for perfection. They have sometimes not been very good on text formatting which is a problem if one wants to customize their documents. Moreover, the security profiles and system administrators’ roles would become more transparent, principally regarding software compatibility and documents uploading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has helped us address our data management and reporting concerns. This has made it easier to collect and share information within the organization, thereby enhancing decision-making and efficiency.

What do you like best about the product?
It is great to have al of our audit workpapers in one place and organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workiva has lots of glitches which is frustrating. The system sometimes goes down for days. Customizations are limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva keeps everything organized in one place. It is easy to see analytics with their various dashboards.
Easy to implement and deploy with great automation options
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use. Ability to build a reporting pack for immediate use, and then incremementally evolve into a fully integrated-automated report. The fact that it's capabilities are very similar to Microsoft Offcie (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) - the learning curve is not very steep at all. Allows for greater autonomy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The 2M cell limit can be an issue for the larger reports
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows multiple users to access the one file at the same time. Allows for collaboration - with auditing and tracking
Valuable and Flexible Tool for External Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I like the core function of being able to link text and numbers from a spreadsheet to a document, or to a presentation. Being able to trace the links throughout is also very useful. It's easy to implement, with just a few hours needed to set documents up. Workiva customer support consistently follows up and is very responsive. We use Workiva on a quarterly basis or more to set up our reporting and have recently started using the Attachments function as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to integrate Workiva into our existing system - even the sales team was not optimistic about this and I'm surprised, given the popularity of Workiva. The formatting on Workiva is very clunky, with frequent errors when adding rows or columns to tables. It's also difficult to open multiple windows at the same time, and keep them open - Workiva is quite an inefficient user of memory and every few hours needs to be closed to prevent slowing down the computer too much. The blackline tool in Workiva is not very "intelligent" - while I understand the basics behind the tool, it trails behind using MS Word or Adobe Acrobat for blacklining purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main issue Workiva is solving is the current inability of MS Office to integrate multiple files and create connections. Workiva lets me do that on the cloud.
Ease of use
What do you like best about the product?
It is very intuitive. The look, functionality and feel of it is very similar to MS Word. It can perform calculations similar to MS Excel and I can copy and paste tables from Excel or Word to Workiva. What I like most is the linking feature. I don't have to worry about the footnote schedule not tying out to the related face statement as long as the numbers are linked between these two. Another favorite is the certification process. We're able to centralize the communication process within Workiva and print a document that shows the certifiers date and signature stamps without having to deal with the back and forth in Outloook.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, we can't see the old version of a document that has been milestoned. It would be nice to have this in future releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of financial statement preparation. We are looking to leverage Workiva for our internal request listing and we are currently working with Ashley B on this. This is another feature that will streamline the collection of data as an input for our statutory audits.

Very easy to use, the customaization of everything is the best.

Occasionally will not save text in text fields so I have to retype everything.

Workiva benefits me becuase it is a one stop shop for all my workpapers.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like the best, is the connectivity between large amounts of data and the ability to pull of that data into a report that refreshes as the data is updated!
I also like the simple and helpful knowledge base; if you don't know how to do something there are a lot of resources that make it easy to understand. If we've ever needed additional assistance however, Workiva has always been there to help!

What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limitations when trying to pull over multiple sources of data (like adding them together in a formula) from an outside workbook; but there are ways to overcome this too!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to bring all the data we need from a large amount of sources, massag the data as needed in multiple worksheets, review the worksheets and track progress, and integrate all the data into our annual financial report.
Frustrating
What do you like best about the product?
Having to only update controls in one place and having it update everywhere else is convenient, as is being able to click one button to send out request reminders.

What do you dislike about the product?
There needs to be more drag and drop features especially in the files folders experience.
Also, a format for requests where everything is in one report that can be rolled forward instead of creating multiple new requests each year would be better. I used to do my PBC list in less than a day just rolling forward a single excel sheet - now I have to go into 100 different windows to create requests. A format where we can create all requests for a specific audit in one window and it would link to the testing experiences automatically would be much better. The current setup has quadrupled the time it takes me to complete PBC requests.
The workspace can also be slow at times and kick me out and reconnect or take a long time to load.
Report filtering should work the same as excel, the way these reports filter I find useless and I always need to export and convert them to make them useful to myself. There should be a greater ability to create custom reports that will filter based on created rules and assigned to process owners so managers can see request list outstanding or a mass file of their controls.

What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is easy to use. It's pretty intuitive and the training offers simple overviews of the tool. We're implementing the ESG soution this year and the capability and scope for efficiency savings in the future is huge. As well as creating effective controls before our data gets published into the reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge with Workiva stems from its key strenghts - it is vast. The capability of the tool is so huge that external consultants are needed to help scope the work and deliver the solutions.

Fabulous solution for common pain points!
What do you like best about the product?
The automation, ease of use, and number of features. Workiva makes the reporting process so much faster and easier than before for preparers. The ease of implementation is also notable, as it is typically not too painful of a process for partners to implement the solution for clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a number of things that are not ideal, particularly the lack of ability to have charts/graphs in spreadsheets, as this has caused some headaches on both the partner/implementation side and on the client side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is alleviating the manual processes involved with financial reporting, freeing up time for preparers to focus on more important items such as strategy and forecasting, rather than tedious processes of copying/pasting tables and charts into a document for reporting. Our clients have told us that after implementing Workiva, their financial reporting/close process has been reduced significantly (in certain instances by 17+ days in a financial half year) which is amazing to hear and serves as a great talking point when speaking with other potential clients. This benefits us as a partner, because it makes it easier to get clients on board with the solution when they know it will save them valuable man-hours and have their preparers be happier by spending less time on tedious tasks and more time on stimulating, productive tasks.
