Reporting has become a breeze with Workiva
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has been a considerable part of our success as a reporting team. The linking capabilities in Workiva have positively impacted our efficiency and accuracy, and the support Workiva provides has made XBRL a nonissue when filing time comes around. We are so happy with the service and look forward to our reporting process's continued improvement and efficacy through the use of Workiva.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to see Workiva improve some of the spreadsheet capabilities, especially with specific formulas that have not been caught up to with what is already offered in the Office 365 version of Excel (i.e. XLOOKUP).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has provided our team with the best way to ensure the completeness and accuracy of our reporting process, which has tremendously added to our team's success.

What do you like best about the product?
24/7 customer service support is great. The customer service is very patient and knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Software too expensive as compared to other competitors
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software is easy to use, and provide audit trail at a very detail level of who's made the edits. Especially helpful when multiple people are working on the same document.
I have used Workiva for over a year now and it has great functionality and serves my team well.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way that Workiva is set up so that even new users can use the application fully and no extensive training is necessary. There's no big learning curve to using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the formatting of tables was easier. It is not always the most effortless process when you add columns and rows and try to resize them. This can create confusion in our layout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is helping us work as a team efficiently by allowing many people to be in a file at the same time and all be updating and creating it simultaneously. We are more efficient!
Helpful tool and user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The possibility to store all necessary documentation and connect the files together
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is quite slow due to the big size of the documents attached
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOX testing documentation as all owners have access and can perform the testing directly there and is available to the reviewers.
Overall, Workiva's product makes financial reporting easier and simpler.
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Workiva is that it allows me to input all of the data and other support I use into one place that seamlessly links to the financial statements that I am creating.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain formatting items that are somewhat frustrating to deal with at times. For instance, formatting column width on tables embedded within the financials is not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is providing me with a tool that I can use to aggregate all of the necessary information in one place and link it to create a working file for financials that is replicable.
Workiva makes reporting easy!
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva provides 24/7 support for all of their products. Everyone is always nice and knowledgeable!! The Wdesk application of Workiva is very user friendly. It has advanced our reporting function greatly by providing a wonderful product, built in checks and balances, and dedicated Workiva representatives to help you every step of the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I truly do not have a downside. There are sometimes functions I wish that were present in the software, but I always submit enhancements I would like to see and Workiva is always rolling out new features. The software is always changing for the better with more options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a dedicated workspace for our SEC reporting documents that multiple people could collaborate at the same time. Once we were in the software we learned so much more that Workiva could provide and were able to enhance our reporting process.
Great learning experience
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using the Workiva SEC Reporting Solution for two quarters now and it has been a great experience so far. I really like the linking of the spreadsheet to the Q. It saves a lot of time because I don't have to copy/paste numbers from the accounting records to the shell. The accounting team works directly in the spreadsheet and the numbers are automatically updated through the publishing function. It avoids manual mistakes and it is easier to tie out. I also love the roll forward button since you just have to update the period number in the spreadsheet. I used to spend hours rolling forward every date and number but now it is done for me for less than 10s. This time saved helps me to focus on other important things, and the quality of my 10-Q keeps getting better each quarter.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find setting up the MDA section of the 10-Q/10-K very annoying. It takes weeks to complete, and I personally think it is a waste of time. I wish the Workiva team who does the initial setup of the financials and fn could also work on the MDA. I also struggle with tieing out in Workiva. The markup options are great but I wish they could be anchored to numbers or words. If you add even one word in a paragraph, markups could move so a lot of time is wasted before filing by moving boxes/markups around
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is approving the accuracy and quality of my filings due to the connectivity of the platform. It helps to connect people and data together, and it helps me to focus on what's most important.

What do you like best about the product?
Since Edgar Next was introduced, filing documents has become a frustrating experience. In contrast, Workiva has streamlined the process as much as possible, and their team is always responsive and ready to help resolve any issues, guiding you through each filing step.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since they have flipped their product to new generation, the preparation of preparing and filing is easier than ever. Only once in a while to you get someone from customer service that cannot help you with the XBRL codes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I truly rely on their outstanding customer service—it makes a significant difference for me. I only wish that this level of support was available, or even something we could buy, for the other software platforms we use every day.

Timely feedback from customer service representatives. An abundance of training videos and written documentation to learn its software and improve efficiencies.

More training videos would be helpful to learn software.

SOX compliance, regulatory filings compliance and SEC filings
Workiva is a best-in-class solution.
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is extremely easy to use and provides many features and benefits for SEC Reporting. It increases accuracy and efficiency. Compared to its competitors, it is much more efficient to use, in particular the XBRL process.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the attachments feature could be improved for one. I think linking between workspaces could also be simplified. I think that XBRL could be simplified further.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva solves the compliance requirements from the SEC and makes it easier and more efficient, as well as more accurate to complete the reporting on a quarterly basis.
