Workiva - Makes my job easier
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva is user-friendly and intuitive. If I have a question, I can commonly find answers in the Help section. Their customer service is top-notch as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have any downsides - Workiva works well and I have yet to personally see another platform that is superior.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control, data accuracy, ability to self-XBRL tag are all huge benefits for us.
SEC Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
The certification process helps tie-out. The Wdesk Doc & SS functionality to track changes and to create blacklines. The workspace function for different team/organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited data usage in Wdesk SS, always receive error message saying the data exceeds xxx bytes etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SEC Reporting benefits a lot from Workiva to make sure we have the single truth of data and can be used for different organizations such as SOX, FPA, Legal and more.
Great experience
What do you like best about the product?
Great customer service; they have always been quick to answer any issues we have. They continuously update the program and will listen to any recommendations you might have.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any significant dislikes. At times, my team and I would experience glitches or performance-related issues that would slow down the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They worked on our entire SOX program; essentially we use Workiva/Wdesk for the company's testing period. It is fully integrated with multiple processes and stakeholders. We've experienced an increase in productivity and quality.
Workiva makes preparing SEC filings easy
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to make/respond to comments, maintain version control and run blacklines. Filing is an easy to follow step by step process and Workiva reps are always available over phone/Zoom to help with any questions or walk you through a filing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes minor formatting issues arise in the Workiva version of a document when importing a Word document but this has gotten better in more recent versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva enables our company to prepare and file most SEC filings in-house as opposed to sending to an external service provider (i.e., financial printer) to format/file. In addition, Workiva makes sustainability reporting easier and more efficient.
It's pretty simple and seemless to use and understand.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to learn how to use. I can train new staff easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Viewing the descriptions on the data sections since you changed from allowing a "table" view. Bring the table view back!!!!

ESG and our RACM.

Software is easy to use and allows people who are not tech savy to work within the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is glitchy at times. During an SEC filing, this has the potential to cause serious problems for a company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not submitted a problem to workiva so I cannot answer this question.
Incredibly easy to learn!
What do you like best about the product?
The learning curve is pretty good! Started using it in Jan 2022 and was able to figure out most functions within a week or two. It is intuitive, and the help section fills in the gaps.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides is requiring app support to add new audit phases or additional fields etc. Adding an option for users to do that will help cut down turnaround time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aids with creating flowcharts and yearly updates, SOX testing, FS review etc. Reports are good, too - especially the risk to control matrix.

currently helping us with mobile capabilities, which we desperately need for our C-Suite
Workiva is the best financial reporting tool
What do you like best about the product?
What's not to like? Completely cloud-based, edit history, different views to see details when reviewing, ability to customize access to view and edit based on specific users or groups of people. We use this for our reporting and it seamlessly allows us to create financial statement footnotes and leverage aspects for other reporting purposes to ensure consistency.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not come with pivot tables. If it did we would be able to do so much more in this tool. There are other improvement opportunities such as allowing filters in document sections based on label color which would simplify reviewing,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps ensure we have accurate financial reporting. Users with knowledge can enter and review their sections and know their responsibilities and deadlines with the certifications tool.
Increased efficiency on financial statement preparation
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has streamlined our financial statement preparation process through its different features. It has also allowed for a standardized template for all our financial statements.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many downsides to Workiva. Sometimes the worksheets can be slow due to the amount of data. Also, there are a few features that Excel has that Workiva is missing but they would be nice to haves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is allowing us to prepare our financial statements in a more efficient manner. It reduces both time and error through its features such as linking and being able to use things like a Consistency Checker.
