Like using the product for financial reporting
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use functions for editing financial reporting
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features/views are not super intuitive at times

Updating quarterly and annual SEC filings with collaboration from multiple parties
Powerful Reporting Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent collaborative tool that can handle various reporting needs. Great audit trail making it very audit friendly. Seamless filing of our SEC filings. Customer experience is generally excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a design-led company so in some of our published reporting, we sometimes find there are small limitations in the type graphs or charts available in the tool versus that other marketing applications (but Workiva is quickly improving here).
There's a bit of a learning curve for new users as there's a lot of functionality to become familiar even if the tool is generally intuitive. As it's a cloud-based tool, we've encountered some latency issues on occasion.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wdesk enables more automated reporting, improved data accuracy and consistency, and helps us to be more efficient and collaberate effectively.
Workiva works slickly and is always improving.
What do you like best about the product?
The software is very well established. XBRL works pretty smoothly. We can use the software for both 10K and 10Q filings and FERC.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are not utilizing all of the spreadsheet features. We can't have just one Workiva page for 10Qs and FERC, so it is harder to copy paste everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everyone in our company is able to update FERC when we give them access now. We have a well designed filing.
Automated FS creation tool
What do you like best about the product?
linking feature between excel and word versions of document. and ability to import data from external sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to highlight. all is working well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating FS in a short period of time. automation and scalability is helping us achieving short FS timelines.
Workiva SOX & Audit
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has helped me seamlessly review audit testing templates
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when we need additional workspaces or connectors that we have to pay individually. I would like a Workiva package where we can purchase the entirety of the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are improving on our overall visibility of control and regulatory audit work. Assisting in creating easier and faster status reporting and the ability to edit data quickly.
Huge difference in filing time
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva has great tools to link data and build out the underlying workbooks. This allows for efficiency when updating the file and reduced risk as numbers can be linked.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want tools to format more complex graphs used in the Proxy. Even if we choose not to file the Proxy directly in wdesk there are graphs we can't review until a printer creates them for us. They are graphs we can do within PowerPoint or excel, just not within Wdesk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva has simplified all of our external reporting processes, which my team is responsible for. It has made the process more efficient so that we can focus on other areas.
Great platform for SOX planning and testing
What do you like best about the product?
Workiva lets you schedule all testing for the year and copy it over quarter after quarter. You can assign tasks to individuals and create review plans. You can set timelines and create charts/graphs to report on progress, including any deficiencies noted during testing. There are many ways in which you can customize these reports and charts/graphs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Leaving review comments for testers could be improved. Right now you leave a comment and unless the tester replies to directly to the email notification, or sees the comments from a certain comment section on their homepage, it is difficult to see the comments. I think if a review comment is left (or multiple comments) they should be visible in one location on the testing page, versus clicking around to see what upload item had the review comment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva was helping us to solve automating our risk assessment process. They took a very manual process and helped to automate it significantly. It will help to make us more efficient during our next planning phase. We can even track against the risk assessment with our testing status.
Great customer service with room to improve on the products
What do you like best about the product?
I like the service hotline of the platform. I can always reach out to a technical support person whenever there are issues. The platform is generally easy to navigate and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are disconnections of the platform or user access issues. From a user's perspective, certain functions need to be updated and more customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workiva is designing new functions and user interfaces on risks and controls. Once the new functionalities are rolled out, the users can collaborate better, and the platform will have better reporting capabilities on the risks and controls.

Sometimes its hard to got to source document and update the linking.

Fantastic platform for SEC filings
What do you like best about the product?
Our teams really appreciate the ease and seamlessness of using Workiva for our SEC filings. The syncing of numbers all across documents makes processes a lot easier. XBRL functions are also very intuitive and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight lag on the platform and the occasional glitches from the cloud provider.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bringing reporting functions all into one place so it's easy for our teams to file documents with the SEC, and more.
